Chris Hemsworth's diagnosis changed his outlook
The 41-year-old actor previously learned that he is, biologically, eight to ten times more likely than other people to develop Alzheimer's, as he carries two copies of the APOE4 gene, and Chris admits that the revelation has changed his life.
Chris - who made the discovery while filming the TV show Limitless: Live Better Now - told Sky News: "It was just kind of this point in my life where up until your 40s, you're kind of gathering data and information and it's all reactionary and then you get to a point where you think, oh some of this sort of identity that I've sort of built doesn't hold true anymore.
"There's some inner sort of protest or inner voice that has a deeper need to understand and there's deeper questions and what is the purpose and the why behind what I'm doing ... and what am I seeking, what am I contributing, as opposed to just what I am collecting."
Meanwhile, Chris previously admitted that his busy work schedule has taken a toll on him.
The actor starred in a host of big-budget films, including eight Marvel blockbusters, in just over 12 years, and Chris admitted that he struggled to cope with the demands.
He told Vanity Fair: "I'd been trying to muscle and beat things into existence for so long, out of obsession and desperation to build this career, and I was just exhausted. I was worried about everything. Nothing was as enjoyable as it once was, or I had imagined it was.
"I was making back-to-back movies and doing the press tours, and I was married and had three young kids, and it was all happening at the same time in a very short window.
"You're sort of just running on fumes, and then you're showing up to something with little in the tank and you start to pick things apart: 'Why am I doing this film?' 'Why isn't this script better?' 'Why didn't that director call me for that,' or, 'Why didn't I get considered for this role?' 'Why don't I get the call-up from Scorsese or Tarantino?'
"I had begun to take it all too serious and too personal."

Jennifer Aniston's heartbreaking Matthew Perry confession
Jennifer Aniston made a rare admission about her late Friends co-star, Matthew Perry. The actress explained in a Vanity Fair interview, published today, that she and fellow cast members — including Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc — 'did everything [they] could' for Perry during his addiction struggles. 'It almost felt like we'd been mourning Matthew for a long time because his battle with that disease was a really hard one for him to fight,' Aniston, 56, noted. In a heartbreaking confession, the Golden Globe winner added, 'As hard as it was for all of us and for the fans, there's a part of me that thinks this is better.' Aniston clarified that she is 'glad' Perry, who died in October 2023 at age 54, is 'out of that pain.' When the actor passed from a ketamine overdose, Aniston penned a touching tribute via Instagram. 'Matty, I love you so much and I know you are now completely at peace and out of any pain,' the star wrote at the time, in part. 'I talk to you every day … sometimes I can almost hear you saying 'could you BE any crazier?'' In her first interview following Perry's shock death, Aniston spoke about how 'happy' and 'healthy' her 'funny' friend had been in his final days — even revealing they had been texting that morning. 'He was not in pain. He wasn't struggling,' she recalled in December 2023. 'He was on a pursuit. He worked so hard.' In August 2024, five individuals were charged with Perry's death, including two doctors who recently pleaded guilty to distributing ketamine. Perry had long battled addiction, which he referred to in his 2022 memoir title as the Big Terrible Thing. Perry estimated that he had spent '$9 million or something [on] trying to get sober' over the years. While describing his efforts in his book, Perry wrote, 'I feel better because it's out. It's out on a piece of paper. The 'why' I'm still alive is definitely in the area of helping people.' The Emmy nominee once praised Aniston as the friend who 'reached out [to him] the most' during his struggles. He gushed to Diane Sawyer in 2022 about being 'really grateful' for her help over the years.

Jennifer Aniston mourned Matthew Perry for 'a long time' before his death
Jennifer Aniston had mourned Matthew Perry "for a long time" before his death. The 56-year-old actress' Friends co-star passed away from acute affects of ketamine in 2023 and Jennifer part of her is grateful her pal is no longer in "pain" due to the long battle he fought against addiction. She told the new issue of Vanity Fair magazine: 'We did everything we could when we could. 'But it almost felt like we'd been mourning Matthew for a long time because his battle with that disease was a really hard one for him to fight. "As hard as it was for all of us and for the fans, there's a part of me that thinks this is better. I'm glad he's out of that pain.' Jennifer is very proud of how much Friends has meant to people around the world. She said: 'What helped raise me is something I got to put into the world and help other people. If [Friends] was the only thing on my résumé, I would be very happy and blessed.' The Morning Show actress isn't afraid to speak up for herself in her career because she knows her "value". She said: 'As a young actor, you can forget that you are the one who's earning income for the people around you. "[My manager Aleen Keshishian] would say, 'You're the boss. You pay us. Don't lose sight of your power in that. Don't become an a****** or b****, but don't lose your voice.' "If there's an area in my life where I have no fear, it's in my career—of speaking up for what I want. I don't do it in a scary or mean way. I just know my value.' Although Jennifer has enjoyed success on both the big and small screen, she still has a number of career ambitions she wants to fill, including treading the boards on Broadway. She said: 'Growing up in New York City and seeing Annie, you just get swept into a fantasy world. I want to do that.' And the Cake star has never been interested in fame. She said: 'I've always been more into metaphysical things and 'What if there's something bigger out there than all of us?' '

Paul Walter Hauser revealed Fantastic Four role to 'dozens' of random people
Paul Walter Hauser told "70 or 80 random people" about his appearance in Fantastic Four. The 38-year-old actor's appearance as antihero Mole Man was kept out of the trailers for the Marvel blockbuster in order to surprise audiences but despite the notorious secrecy surrounding MCU projects, Paul admitted he had let the news slip to "several dozen people" before the movie was released. He told Britain's GQ magazine: "For the most part I was zip-lipped, and everybody understands at this point. They all know if you do Star Wars, or Marvel, you can't talk about it. "But if I'm being honest - and I pride myself on my honesty nowadays - I probably told 70 or 80 random people, be it family members or fans. "I'm not gonna lie and say I told literally no one. I told several dozen people. "But at the same time, they weren't blabbering it out, or giving it to news outlets. "They were respectful, and excited, and what-have-you. "But if a little kid comes up to me in a wheelchair with a comic book, and they're like, 'Are you Mole Man?' I would say something like, 'I don't know man, I hear there is a mole…' And wink at them, just to get them excited." The Black Bird star doesn't think Marvel bosses would be too upset with his lack of discretion because they have bigger things to think about. He said: "It's kind of like jaywalking, too. It's like, you can get [arrested] for that, but it's like, hopefully they're catching the bad guys. "And when I look at Kevin Feige and the Marvel folks, I go, I think they're probably busy with some other stuff. They're probably not gonna chase me down and scalp me, or shoot a little [dart] into my neck." Meanwhile, the Black Bird star has also been busy shooting Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, in which he plays recording engineer Mike Batlan, and he explained how he largely left lead star Jeremy Allen White alone during breaks in filming because he could see how much he was trying to juggle. He said: "Jeremy was very dialed in, and it was not in a showy actor way; it was not in some puffy, performative nature. It was just very much Jeremy Allen White in a mode of operation where he had a lot he had to think about. "Physicality, dialogue, the look, the voice, singing the real songs, playing the real music. It was a lot. "I usually try to bond with my male co-stars on a movie, like Sebastian Stan on I, Tonya, or Sam Rockwell on Richard Jewell. But I purposely just stayed out of his way, because I recognised how exhausted he was, and that he was trying to be a dad to his daughter, while also starring in this massive movie."
