Residents in Valenzuela, QC affected by Crising, Habagat receive aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation
According to "24 Oras" Tuesday, many residents of Brgy. Parada in Valenzuela have resorted to placing their furniture that has been destroyed by the floods outside of their homes.
"Dahil sa sobrang bilis ng baha, hindi na namin naagapan. Tsaka ito, sigurado sira na 'yan. Bumabaha nang ganito, hindi, ngayon lang 'to, two years pa lang namin nararanasan 'to, Carina tsaka yung Crising," said Grace Baladiang, a resident.
Meanwhile, in Brgy. Marulas, residents have evacuated to the Valenzuela National High School as the floods in the area reached above head level.
Under its Operation Bayanihan Project, the GMA Kapuso Foundation delivered assistance to a total of 2,400 individuals affected by the inclement weather in Brgys. Parada and Marulas in Valenzuela, as well as Brgy. Katipunan in Quezon City.
The foundation also distributed warm porridge to the residents.
Meanwhile, the foundation's relief operations for those affected in Balagtas, Bulacan and San Mateo, Rizal are ongoing.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Tuesday, six were reported dead due to Crising, the Habagat, and the low pressure area (LPA). Three of the reported deaths were in Northern Mindanao and one each in Mimaropa, Davao, Region, and Caraga.
The local governments of Quezon City, Manila, and Cavite have declared a state of calamity on Tuesday following the impacts of the inclement weather.
Work in government offices and classes at all levels in the National Capital Region and several provinces have also been suspended on July 23.

GSIS to gov't agencies: Report assets damaged by storms
The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) on Monday asked all government agencies with insured assets and properties to immediately report any damage caused by tropical cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong. In a statement, the pension fund and state assets urged agencies to prepare their policy details and reach out to the nearest GSIS branch or extension office with the full list of contact details found on its website. GSIS said it provides coverage for all government-owned assets, including buildings, vehicles, equipment, and other properties. The pension fund said it offers a range of non-life insurance products for institutions, such as fire, motor vehicle, engineering, and accident insurance, as well as optional protection plans for individual members, pensioners, and their families. GSIS added it also issues compulsory third-party liability (CTPL) insurance and covers government-linked projects or ventures where public funds or interests are involved. Valenzuela City declares state of calamity due to inclement weather

Courtesy: Philippine Coast Guard/ Facebook The local government of Valenzuela City has declared a state of calamity due to the widespread flooding and infrastructure damage caused by tropical cyclones Crising, Dante, Emong, and the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat). The Sangguniang Panlungsod approved Resolution No. 3503 series of 2025, adopting the recommendation of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (LDRRMC) to declare a state of calamity and to release funds by way of assistance to the typhoon victims. 'Valenzuela City was severely affected by Tropical Storm Crising, Dante and Emong, which, in combination with the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), brought prolonged and intense rainfall, causing widespread flooding, paralyzing public transportation and utility services, and resulting in the displacement of thousands of families,' the resolution reads. 'The continuous adverse weather conditions have resulted in extensive damage to public infrastructure, residential areas and agricultural lands, endangering the safety and livelihood of residents,' it said. The resolution added, 'The declaration of a state of calamity is necessary to enable the City Government of Valenzuela to access additional resources and funding for disaster response and recovery efforts.' According to the city government, over 9,000 individuals were rescued and evacuated to temporary shelters due to the inclement weather. Relief operations and health services continue in the temporary shelters, while post-flood assessments are being conducted in the city as part of their recovery and rehabilitation efforts. Meanwhile, a free ride service was also launched in Valenzuela City to help affected passengers. The Valenzuela City government also remains under heightened alert amid the continuous downpour. State weather bureau PAGASA earlier said the Habagat will continue to bring rains over parts of the country on Monday. Occasional rains may persist over Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan while cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms is forecast over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon. SHERYLIN UNTALAN/GMA Integrated News The reported death toll due to the impact of Tropical Cyclones Crising, Dante, Emong, and the Southwest or Habagat has increased to 31, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Monday. In its 6 a.m. report, the NDRRMC said most of these fatalities were reported in Metro Manila with nine. This was followed by Western Visayas with six; Calabarzon with five; Negros Island Region and Northern Mindanao with three each; two in Central Luzon; and Mimaropa, Davao Region, and Caraga with one each. A total of 6,276,280 people or 1,751,776 families were affected by the bad weather in all regions except Eastern Visayas. The region with the most number of affected population was Central Luzon with 2,638,943. Of the total affected population, 122,716 people or 36,660 families were staying in evacuation centers while 80,766 persons or 21,309 families were taking shelter in other places. The extent of damage was reported at P6,500,351,557 for infrastructure, P510,305,972 for agriculture, and P281,660,000 for irrigation systems. A total of 15,309 houses were damaged —13,387 partially and 1,652 totally. Interruptions in power supply, water service, and communication lines were reported. Several airports and seaports became non-operational. A total of 70 passengers and 10 vessels remained stranded. Classes in 1,045 areas and work schedules in 911 areas were suspended due to the threat of the bad weather. A state of calamity was declared in 192 cities and municipalities.
