The midfield consists of Manpreet Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Rajinder Singh, Raj Kumar Pal, and Hardik Singh.
The forward line features Mandeep Singh, Abhishek, Sukhjeet Singh, Shilanand Lakra, and Dilpreet Singh. Nilam Sanjeep Xess and Selvam Karthi have been named as reserve players.
"We've gone with an experienced squad that understands what it takes to perform in high-pressure situations. The Asia Cup is crucial for us because qualification for the World Cup is at stake, so we needed players who have the composure, resilience, and know-how to deliver.
The selection reflects our intent -- to put forward a team that can compete strongly and achieve our main objective," said Indian Men's Team Coach Craig Fulton.
"I'm very pleased with the balance and quality across the squad. We have leaders in every line -- defence, midfield, and attack -- and that collective strength is what excites me the most. I think the way this team can play together will be our strongest asset," Fulton added.

ICC issues clarification after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli mysteriously disappear from ODI rankings

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who remain active in the ODI format after retiring from T20I and Test cricket over the last one year, were ranked second and fourth respectively in the ICC rankings earlier this month. Their sudden disappearance from the rankings list, however, was met with confusion among followers of the sport. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were among the top-five ODI batters in the world earlier this month before their names suddenly disappeared from the ICC rankings list. Reuters The International Cricket Council (ICC) issued a clarification after Indian batting stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma mysteriously disappeared from the ODI batting rankings that was released on Wednesday. The Dubai-based governing body for the sport confirmed that it was indeed a technical glitch that had resulted in the two modern-era superstars getting removed from the list. 'There was an error in our rankings tables today, but it has been rectified,' an ICC spokesperson told Hindustan Times. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Rohit and Kohli's names were later restored in the rankings, and they currently occupy the 2nd and 4th spots respectively. India Test captain Shubman Gill, recently appointed T20I vice-captain during the BCCI's Asia Cup squad announcement, leads the standings with 784 rating points while Rohit and Pakistan star Babar Azam occupy the next two spots with 756 and 739 points respectively. Kohli (736) and New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell (720) complete the top five. Shreyas Iyer, meanwhile, is the fourth Indian in the top-10, occupying the 8th spot with 704 points. What the ICC's rules state on player rankings The ICC's rules state that a player can be removed from the top-100 in the rankings list if they have not played a match within the qualifying period – which stands at 12-15 months for Tests and 9-12 months for white-ball formats ODIs and T20Is. A player will also be removed from the ICC rankings if they have retired from international cricket. If they have quit a specific format then his/her name will be removed from the corresponding rankings and will continue to appear in other lists. Also Read | 'India need Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma': Ex-India cricketer's no-nonsense take amid reports of transition As far as Rohit and Kohli are concerned, they had retired from Twenty20 Internationals after helping India win the T20 World Cup in June last year, and had quit Test cricket in May. Rohit and Kohli, however, had starred in India's triumph in the ICC Champions Trophy in March, the former as captain. With only five months having passed since the Men in Blue's victory over New Zealand in the final in Dubai, there's plenty of time before the Ro-Ko pair are officially removed from the rankings list. How Patrice Bergeron influenced Tage Thompson's unlikely path to NHL stardom

NHL-Tage Thompson of the Buffalo Sabres (Credit: Getty Images) As a child, Tage Thompson was determined to become a goaltender. That dream changed during the 2004–05 NHL lockout while his father Brent was playing in Providence, Rhode Island. With Patrice Bergeron also spending time there, Brent encouraged him to take shots against young Tage in casual street sessions. Sabres' Tage Thompson Notches Seventh Career Hat Trick vs. Bruins Patrice Bergeron's influence during the lockout The outcome was one-sided. Bergeron's skill as a shooter made it clear to Thompson that goaltending would not be his future. Though discouraging in the moment, this experience ultimately set him on a different course, and abandoning the idea of playing in net. Thompson shifted his focus to developing as a forward. And an adjustment that became the foundation of his professional career. Meeting Patrice Bergeron years later in the NHL Years later, when Thompson reached the NHL, he found himself competing directly against Bergeron. Facing a player who unknowingly altered his hockey path was a full-circle moment. Instead of being defined by that early setback. Thompson stood across the ice as a peer and a proven goal scorer in his own right. The meeting was more than just symbolic, as it gave Thompson an appreciation for the impact Bergeron had on him, not only as a player. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Your Finger Shape Says a Lot About Your Personality, Read Now Tips and Tricks Undo But also as a professional who carried himself with respect and humility. FLORIDA ARE CHAMPS AGAIN & TAGE THOMPSON JOINS THE SHOW I Missin Curfew Ep 399 Youtube Version Carrying the lesson into Patrice Bergeron's own career Thompson's respect for Bergeron grew as he experienced firsthand. This is how the Bruins captain treated opponents and fellow players, Bergeron's kindness and professionalism left a lasting impression. This is showing Thompson that character could be just as meaningful as talent in shaping a legacy. As Thompson's own career developed in Buffalo, he embraced those lessons, beyond his offensive success. He began striving to represent himself in the same respectful and grounded way, Bergeron's influence extended far beyond that childhood street game. It provided a model for leadership that Thompson aims to bring into his own career. Today, Thompson is recognized as one of the NHL's top scoring forwards. But he credits an unlikely source for setting him on that trajectory, Patrice Bergeron's talent may have crushed his early dream. But his professionalism inspired the mindset that continues to guide Thompson's career. Post real money gaming bill, questions aplenty for Indian cricket

IPL may feel aftershocks One of the knock-on effects of a blanket ban could be felt by Indian cricket, especially the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL). Various IPL teams as well as the competition itself are tied up with various real money gaming firms, including Dream XI and My11Circle. Even if Indian cricket will not have a lot of problems onboarding new sponsors — if they want to go down that path — there may be some short term pain. "Fantasy gaming platforms like My11Circle and Dream11 have become heavyweight backers of Indian sports," said Santosh N, managing partner of D & P Advisory, an independent valuation company. "My11Circle has committed Rs 625 cr for an IPL associate sponsorship slot, while Dream11 has consistently backed franchises such as Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Sunrisers Hyderabad as title or principal sponsors. My11Circle is currently an IPL associate sponsor at the league level, contributing a large share of central sponsorship revenue. Separately, Dream11 has team-level sponsorships, serving as Title Partner and Principal Partners for some teams. Together, fantasy sports brands account for hundreds of crores in sponsorship inflows, making IPL one of the most exposed properties to a potential ban." Dream11, as it stands, is the Indian team's 'lead sponsor' but that is scheduled to end after next year's men's T20 World Cup. "Banning it would strip IPL and many smaller leagues of vital funding, compress marketing budgets, and likely curb the steady upward trend in sponsorship revenues." Santosh added. My11Circle also counts a number of active Indian cricketers as their brand ambassadors. Per the bill, they can't endorse any of these products. Set for a challenge? If and when it becomes law, the gaming companies may decide to challenge its constitutionality. Sports lawyers this newspaper spoke to said that fantasy games like Dream11 are 'games of skill' according to a Supreme Court judgment a few years earlier. A Dream11 spokesperson 'declined to comment' for multiple questions raised by this mast. The bill caught a lot of industry stakeholders off guard, especially because this government's previous moves with respect to the online gaming industry was seen as favouring them. It's been reported that the government are now citing national security as well as social issues for this step.
