AAP appoints former Timarpur MLA Dillip Pandey as its overseas cordinator
The main Opposition party in Delhi had on Wednesday released a list of new office bearers.
Jitender Singh Tomar was appointed as Madhya Pradesh's Prabhari. Rajesh Gupta, Rituraj Govind and Mahendra Yadav were appointed as Prabhari of Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, respectively.
Dheeraj Tokas has been made the Prabhari of Rajasthan. Prakash Jarwal was appointed as the Prabhari of Maharashtra.
Ghanendra Bhardwaj and Vijay Phulara were appointed as Sah Prabhari of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, respectively.
Four leaders were appointed as the Sah Prabhari of Uttar Pradesh: Dilip Pandey, Vishesh Ravi, Anil Jha and Ch. Surendra Kumar.
On Friday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced a 'Nasha Mukti Yatra' amid the ongoing 'War Against Drugs' in Punjab, which has been initiated by the administration to eliminate drug abuse in the state.
He will be accompanied by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in this endeavour to curb drug abuse in Punjab.
He said that the 'Nasha Multi Yatra' would reach each village and ward in Punjab to strengthen people's resolve against drug abuse and the selling of drugs. It would also focus on convincing people to provide treatment to drug addicts to ensure their well-being.
'From today, the Nasha Mukti Yatra is starting in Punjab. This Yatra will go to every village and every ward of Punjab. Through this Yatra, people will now be connected with the Nasha Mukti Abhiyan. In every village and every ward, people will take an oath that they will not consume drugs themselves, will not let anyone sell drugs in their area and will get the drug addicts treated and get them out of addiction,' Kejriwal, former Chief Minister of Delhi, posted on X.
He stated that the Punjab government has made arrangements for the treatment of drug addicts.
'The Punjab government has made arrangements on a large scale for the treatment of drug addicts. Three crore members of the Punjab family will now ensure that they eliminate drug addiction from Punjab,' Kejriwal said.
'In the last two and a half months, Punjab Police and Punjab Government have started a war against drugs. For the first time, action is being taken against drug smugglers on such a large scale,' he added. (ANI)

CDS General Chauhan formally releases joint doctrines for cyberspace, amphibious operations

ANI Joint Doctrines for 'Cyberspace', 'Amphibious' Operations released Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan on Thursday formally released the "declassified versions" of the joint doctrines for cyberspace and amphibious operations, which seek to provide policymakers with a common lexicon and guidelines for effective planning and smooth execution of joint military operations. The declassification of these doctrines underscores India's commitment to "enhance visibility, accessibility and wider dissemination of joint war-fighting concepts", the defence ministry said. Chief of Defence Staff and Secretary, Department of Military Affairs, Gen Chauhan "formally released the declassified versions of the Joint Doctrines for Cyberspace Operations and Amphibious Operations during the Chiefs of Staff Committee meeting in New Delhi", it said in a statement. The 'Joint Doctrine for Cyberspace Operations' outlines a unified approach to defend national cyberspace interests, integrating offensive and defensive cyber capabilities and enabling synchronised operations across the three services. It emphasises threat-informed planning, resilience building, real-time intelligence integration and development of joint cyber capabilities, the statement 'Joint Doctrine for Amphibious Operations' defines the framework for planning and executing amphibious operations by integrating maritime, air and land forces. It stresses interoperability, rapid response capability and joint force application to influence operations ashore, the ministry said. The CDS has initiated development of numerous new doctrines or primers covering contemporary as well as niche areas of war-fighting such as military space operations, special forces operations, airborne or heliborne operations, integrated logistics, and multi-domain operations, it said. These doctrines will provide stakeholders and policymakers with a common lexicon and guidelines for effective planning and smooth execution of joint military operations, the statement said.

Why did SC dismiss Justice Yashwant Varmas plea?
New Delhi [India], August 7 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a plea filed by Justice Yashwant Varma of the Allahabad High Court challenging the in-house inquiry panel's report, and the former Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna's recommendation to initiate impeachment proceedings against him in the case of a fire incident that led to recovery of burnt unaccounted cash at his official residence in the national capital, when he was a sitting judge of the Delhi High rejecting Justice Varma's plea, a bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and Ujjal Bhuyan reasoned that Justice Varma's conduct in having knocked the top court's door only after the completion of the in-house proceedings that led to the initiation of an impeachment motion against him, did not inspire confidence for the top court to entertain his plea.'If indeed any fault were found in the procedure and questions were to be raised, the Petitioner ought not to have waited for completion of the fact-finding inquiry set in motion by the CJI. The conduct of the Petitioner, therefore, does not inspire much confidence for us to entertain the writ petition", the bench noted, in its 57-page bench noted that though the aforesaid reasoning would have been sufficient for it to reject Justice Varma's plea, it did not wish to tread the easy route but would rest its conclusions by answering other legal questions involved in the case as Justice Varma, having challenged the in-house procedure set in motion by the former CJI on the ground that it has no legal sanctity and is an extra-constitutional mechanism, the Court responded by stating that the same is stated that Section 3(2) of the Judges (Protection) Act, 1985 which empowers Central government, State government, Supreme Court, High Courts, or any other authority (under any existing law) to take such action — whether civil, criminal, departmental, or otherwise–against someone who is or was a judge, includes the law laid down by the Supreme Court under Article 141 (Law declared by Supreme Court to be binding on all courts) of the Constitution and that the term 'otherwise' read in conjunction with 'such action', in the aforesaid 1985 Act provision is wide enough to cover actions undertaken by the in-house procedure. Thus, it held that the procedure did have the 'required legal sanctity."
