In a post on X, the BJP said Tejashwi is desperately looking for a way to avoid facing the electorate.
"Facing the prospect of defeat, Tejashwi Yadav is desperately searching for a way to boycott the elections. There are serious reasons behind Tejashwi's despair," the party said.
The BJP claimed that Tejashwi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had expected widespread public support in their opposition to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, but were left isolated.
"In Bihar, Tejashwi and Rahul expected massive public support in their opposition to the voter revision process. However, not a single voter in Bihar stood with them. Voters enthusiastically participated in the SIR process," the party said.
"It is clear, therefore, that Bihar's voters have outright rejected Tejashwi's opposition to SIR. Over 98% of voter data has been included in the process. After being rejected by Bihar's voters, Tejashwi has privately realised that Bihar does not take him seriously at all.
Hence, out of nervousness about an impending defeat in the elections, he has now started talking about boycotting the elections." it added.
Calling Tejashwi's stance 'dangerous,' the BJP also alleged that his words were a direct attack on public opinion.
"Tejashwi's intention is even more dangerous — this is a direct attack on public opinion. No party in a democracy talks about boycotting elections. In the past, slogans of boycott were raised by Naxalites and Maoists.

But now, Tejashwi has openly expressed his intent to follow that path. This is extremely dangerous. In the despair of defeat, venting frustration against the public and attacking public opinion — Bihar will not tolerate this," the BJP said.
Tejashwi had earlier suggested that the Mahagathbandhan might consider boycotting the upcoming assembly elections, citing alleged irregularities in the Election Commission's special revision of electoral rolls.
'That too can be discussed. We will see what the people want and what everyone's opinion is,' Yadav told IANS, when asked if a poll boycott was on the table.
According to the Election Commission, 98.01% of voters in Bihar have been covered under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) as of July 23. Officials said the process has so far identified nearly 20 lakh deceased voters, 28 lakh individuals who have permanently migrated, 7 lakh voters enrolled in multiple locations, 1 lakh untraceable voters, and around 15 lakh unreturned voter forms. The EC also noted that 7.17 crore voter forms — roughly 90.89% of the total — have been received and digitised.
This is the first such revision in Bihar in 22 years. According to EC, the aim of the SIR is to clean up the electoral rolls by removing ineligible, duplicate, or non-existent entries, while ensuring all eligible citizens are included.

Owaisi says fresh US tariffs on India will hurt Indian exporters, deter FDI, hit jobs hard
Hyderabad: AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday said US President Donald Trump's decision to impose 50 per cent tariff on Indian goods will hurt Indian exporters, MSMEs, manufacturers and will disrupt supply chains, deter FDI, and hit jobs hard. A day after Trump imposed a penalty of another 25 per cent on India for buying Russian oil, Owaisi said Trump just slapped another 25 per cent tariff on India, taking it to 50 per cent, because 'we bought oil from Russia'. In a post on X, the Hyderabad MP said 'This isn't diplomacy, it's bullying by the buffoon-in-chief who clearly doesn't understand how global trade works". These tariffs will hurt Indian exporters, MSMEs, and manufacturers. It'll disrupt supply chains, deter FDI, and hit jobs hard. But why will Narendra Modi care? Where are those BJP muscle-flexers now?" the AIMIM chief asked. "Last time I'd asked if Modi ji would show his 56-inch chest when Trump imposed 56% tariffs. Trump stopped at 50%. Maybe he's scared of our non-biological PM? Was selling out our strategic autonomy worth filling your friends' billionaire coffers?" he further said. Trump on Wednesday slapped an additional 25 per cent tariff on goods coming from India as penalty for New Delhi's continued purchase of Russian oil, a move that is likely to hit sectors such as textiles, marine and leather exports hard. Trump signed an executive order - Addressing Threats to the US by the Government of the Russian Federation - imposing the additional tariff over and above the 25 per cent levy, which comes into effect from August 7. After this order, the total tariff on Indian goods, barring a small exemption list, will be 50 per cent.

BJP slams Congress over poll rigging allegations, Tipu-KRS claims in Karnataka
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) flayed the Congress for its allegations of 'vote theft' and claims that the foundation stone for the Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) in Karnataka was laid by Tipu Sultan. Addressing media persons in Mysuru on August 7, BJP Mysuru district president and former MLA L. Nagendra and senior party functionary M.A. Mohan accused Congress of spreading misinformation, distorting history, and attempting to divert public attention from its failures in governance. Responding to the claims by Congress spokesperson M. Lakshman that about 1.45 lakh votes that ideally should have gone to the Congress, was 'diverted' to the BJP, Mr. Nagendra said such statements are without basis, and are misleading. 'Mr. Lakshman should realise that he got far more votes in this parliamentary election than in any previous contest where he was repeatedly defeated. If votes were truly stolen, how did he manage to lead in the N.R. Assembly constituency? Why no complaints there?'' The BJP accused the Congress of playing a fraud on voters by trying to bribe them, and yet was defeated. Mr. Nagendra said the Lok Sabha elections were free and fair, and people voted for BJP candidate Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar given his calibre and the contribution of the Wadiyars of Mysuru to Karnataka. 'People have made their choice. Creating confusion now is irresponsible,' he added. On Mr. Lakshman's allegation of 'missing votes', Mr. Mohan said, 'Even Congress workers don't see him as a deserving candidate. Let him introspect instead of blaming EVMs or the BJP, and also answer how the Congress won 136 seats in the 2023 Assembly elections,' said Mr. Mohan. The BJP described the allegations as a diversionary tactic adopted by the Congress to mislead people and draw their attention away from administrative collapse in Karnataka. The Congress has raised the prices of essential commodities while local body elections have not been conducted, as the ruling party is 'reluctant' to face voters, said Mr. Nagendra and Mr. Mohan. What about contribution of Chalukyas, Hoysalas, Vijayanagara kings? Ridiculing the Congress narrative that Tipu Sultan laid the foundation for the KRS dam, Mr. Mohan said the Srirangapatna fort existed before Tipu and Hyder Ali. 'If left unchallenged, the Congress will credit construction of Vani Vilas Sagar dam in Chitradurga — which was built by the Wadiyars — to Tipu Sultan,' he added. Mr. Mohan questioned the 'selective glorification' of Tipu Sultan by Congress. 'Other dynasties too have made tremendous contribution to Karnataka culture, including the Chalukyas, Hoysalas, and Vijayanagara kings. But the Congress only talks of Tipu Sultan,' he said while accusing the ruling party of distorting history for vote bank politics.

Rahul Gandhi flags over 1 lakh voter ‘discrepancies' in Karnataka, alleges EC colluding with BJP
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday accused the Election Commission of colluding with the Bharatiya Janata Party during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. He alleged that in Karnataka's Mahadevepura Assembly constituency alone, there were discrepancies in 1,00,250 names in the electoral roll. Gandhi alleged that out of these, there were 11,965 duplicate voters, 40,009 voters with fake or invalid addresses, 10,454 'bulk voters' registered in a single address, 4,132 voters with invalid photographs and 33,692 voters in whose cases there had allegedly been misuse of Form 6. The Election Commission's Form 6 is an application document for registering new voters. Mahaedevapura is part of the Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha constituency, which the BJP's PC Mohan won last year. Gandhi alleged that the Election Commission deliberately does not give political parties electronic data on voter lists as it does not want them to scrutinise the document carefully. He claimed that it took the Congress six months to identify discrepancies in the voter list of just the Mahadevapura Assembly segment. 'If the Election Commission had given us electronic data, it would have taken only 30 seconds,' he remarked. The leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha said that the papers also do not support optical character recognition, which would have allowed for data to be extracted by scanning them. THIS IS HOW BANGALORE CENTRAL LOK SABHA SEAT WAS STOLEN ❓ How did the Election Commission of India collude with the BJP to steal the election? Listen to LoP Shri @RahulGandhi explain this organised vote theft. 👉 There were 1,00,250 votes stolen in the Mahadevapura assembly… — Congress (@INCIndia) August 7, 2025 The Election Commission has not yet commented on Gandhi's allegations. However, the Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka asked Gandhi to send the names of electors who had been allegedly wrongly included or excluded 'so that necessary proceedings can be initiated', PTI reported. The chief electoral officer also asked Gandhi to sign an oath for each such name, adding that making false declarations was punishable under the Representation of Peoples Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka (ceo_karnataka) posts, "Letter to Shri Rahul Gandhi, Hon'ble Member of Parliament and Hon'ble Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Expecting the signed declaration and oath @ECISVEEP" — Press Trust of India (@PTI_News) August 7, 2025 In response, Gandhi said that the Election Commission had not denied the information. 'They haven't said that the voter lists that Rahul Gandhi is talking about are wrong,' the Congress leader said. 'Why don't you say they're wrong? Because you know the truth.' On Saturday, Gandhi had said that his party suspects that the results of 70 to 100 seats in the 2024 general election were manipulated, claiming that 'the election system in India is already dead'. In the Lok Sabha polls last year, the BJP won 240 seats, down from 303 in 2019. Falling short of the 272-seat majority mark, it relied on coalition partners in the National Democratic Alliance to form the government. The Congress won 99 seats. Gandhi had said on Saturday that his party had '100% proof' to support its claims. The Election Commission had dismissed the allegations as ' baseless ' at the time. The poll panel had said that the Congress leader was repeatedly making 'unsubstantiated and misleading' accusations aimed at discrediting its 'impartial' work. Gandhi and the Congress have also repeatedly alleged that there was 'industrial-scale rigging involving the capture of our national institutions' in the Maharashtra polls held in November. The BJP-led alliance had defeated the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, which includes the Congress, in the polls. In February, the Congress had urged the Election Commission to explain how the number of registered voters (9.7 crore) for the Maharashtra polls was more than the adult population of the state (9.5 crore). The Election Commission had said at the time that attempts to defame it by parties that got an unfavourable verdict from voters were 'completely absurd'. On July 23, Gandhi claimed that the Congress
