Call the Midwife's Olly Rix 'enjoying blossoming romance' with Casualty co-star
Casualty cast member Olly Rix - who plays Flynn Byron on the BBC medical drama - is rumoured to be dating a co-star from the show, which he joined after leaving Call the Midwife
Olly Rix is said to be dating one of his Casualty co-stars. The speculation comes after it was previously rumoured last year that he had grown close to colleague Helen George, who plays his on-screen wife on Call the Midwife.
The actor, 40, is now rumoured to have grown close to Anna Chell, 28, since joining the BBC medical drama. Olly made his debut as Flynn Byron on Casualty this year, whilst Anna, who plays Jodie Whyte, has been in the cast since 2023.
The co-stars are now said to have a "blossoming romance" whilst working together on the show. It's been teased that viewers may be able to spot "hints" of chemistry between them in scenes featuring their characters on Casualty.
A source told the Sun that he's in a "good place". They told the outlet: "After finding himself uncomfortably thrust into the spotlight towards the end of his time on Call the Midwife, Olly's in a really good place at the moment."
They went on to say he's "settled" into life on the show. They said: "Over the last year he's quickly settled into his new role on Casualty, got a new home in Cardiff where the drama is filmed, and is enjoying a blossoming romance with Anna."
The source then teased over the apparent romance. They said: "Devotees of the drama will no doubt be analysing their scenes together to see if there are tell-tale hints of chemistry between them - assuming they haven't already spotted signs."
Olly and Anna are said to have appeared in social media posts together recently. The outlet added that they were seen carving each another's names into stone in content shared by him over the weekend on his Instagram page.
Earlier this year, Olly made his debut in his role on Casualty in an episode broadcast in March. His character Flynn was introduced as a new clinical lead consultant at Holby City ED and has remained on the show in the months since then.
Olly joined cast members like Anna, who had already been on the show for two years. She made her first appearance as nursing recruit Jodie in April 2023, with her debuting alongside co-stars Barney Walsh and Sarah Seggari.
It was announced earlier this year that Olly moved from London to Cardiff to be closer to the BBC's Roath Lock Studios, where most of the show is filmed. OK! magazine reported that he had been visited by loved ones and he shared: "Work is such a privilege and so much fun, and it can be profoundly pivotal and moving and revelatory, but it's still just work. It's not going to hold you at the end, so I know that friends and family are everything."
Prior to joining the show, Olly played Matthew Aylward on Call the Midwife from 2021 until his exit last year. He was rumoured to have grown close to Helen, 41, who plays Trixie Aylward, at one point after both becoming single.
His connection to Helen previously attracted attention. A spokesperson for her had suggested it was just a friendship in 2023 though, prior to reports in September last year that she had joined a dating app after she 'split' from Olly.

Wynne Evans' final BBC show axed in another blow to disgraced Strictly star after it's revealed broadcaster received seven complaints from female colleagues over his conduct
Wynne Evans ' final BBC show has been axed in another blow to the opera singer after his radio show was cancelled. Wynne was dumped by BBC Wales after using vile sexual innuendo during the Strictly Live Tour and was also caught up in a 'wandering hand' incident with dance partner Katya Jones, who seemed to remove his arm from her lower waist on the show. After the BBC launched an investigation into his conduct, bosses decided not to renew his radio contract for his show. Now it's been revealed his travelogue series with Joanna Paige has been cancelled after just one series. The programme originally aired in February and March of this year and was placed on ice when Wynne was dropped from the Strictly tour before returning to screens. An insider told The Sun: 'Once the first series was slapped on ice, there was always a huge question mark hanging over the prospect of a second outing. The programme originally aired in February and March of this year and was placed on ice when Wynne was dropped from the Strictly tour before returning to screens 'Only now has the BBC publicly confirmed it won't be returning. 'It means that Wynne has no TV show or radio show with the Beeb, and effectively marks the end of their relationship.' The six-episode series saw Waynne and Gavin And Stacey star Joanna, 48, set sail on watery adventures across Wales' picturesque coastline. A spokesperson for the BBC said: 'There are no plans for a second series.' MailOnline has contacted representatives for Wynne for comment. Meanwhile, the Mail on Sunday recently revealed the BBC received seven complaints from women over Wynne Evans' conduct towards them, including one claim he made an inappropriate comment about a pregnant woman's breasts during a Zoom call. The revelations come just days after Evans protested on ITV's This Morning that there had been no allegations made against him. He appeared on the show earlier this month to tell hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard: 'There has never been any complaints about me. Ever!' Wynne was dumped by BBC Wales after using vile sexual innuendo during the Strictly Live Tour and was also caught up in a 'wandering hand' incident with dance partner Katya Jones , who seemed to remove his arm from her lower waist on the show BBC Wales staff raised the seven separate grievances between July 2023 and August 2024, including a period after Evans, 53, was approached to appear on last year's Strictly Come Dancing. Four of the complaints were made before he joined Strictly, raising questions over why the dance show's producers signed him up. Three more were made after he had been chosen for the show. A report into his behaviour was prepared in January for a disciplinary hearing which he said he could not attend, citing mental health issues. With his TV and radio career in tatters, Wynne has turned his attention to a new business venture. MailOnline recently told how the dad-of-two has become an Airbnb host. He has listed the property in Llansteffan on the home rental site, just eight miles away from his home town of Carmarthen.

BBC faces major Glastonbury problem as headliner makes unusual demand
EXCLUSIVE: BBC bosses are risking a fallout with legendary rocker Neil Young, 79, just days before his Glastonbury gig over potential coverage of his performance on Saturday BBC bosses risk falling foul of rock legend Neil Young just days before his Glastonbury gig. The Heart of Gold singer, 79, is one of the biggest names on the bill but it is still unclear how much of his Saturday performance will be on TV. Young is still wrangling with the BBC about coverage. Insiders suspect he will agree to letting just a handful of songs go out on TV or BBC iPlayer. Whether they will be live or part of an edited highlights package is still unclear. A BBC schedule of live sets released to the public omits Neil Young, while mentioning headliners such as Charli xcx and Doechii who play other stages on Saturday. Bosses will have to tread carefully after the star pulled out of the festival earlier this year citing concerns about the BBC's 'corporate control'. He said in January: 'We were told that BBC was now a partner in Glastonbury and wanted us to do a lot of things in a way we were not interested in. "It seems Glastonbury is now under corporate control and is not the way I remember it being.' A BBC spokeswoman said: 'We aim to bring audiences as many performances as possible from the Pyramid Stage, and our schedules and plans continue to be finalised, right up to and during the festival.' Young has made principled stands recently. He blocked his music from Spotify for two years, saying a podcaster on the platform had spread vaccine misinformation. This year, he has also refused to let Ticketmaster use dynamic pricing for his forthcoming tour. When Young played Glastonbury in 2009 only five songs were televised. Speaking at the time Mark Cooper, then executive producer of the BBC's Glastonbury coverage, said: 'Neil Young's career has been conducted on his own terms. 'They believe in the live event and retaining its mystery and that of their artist. They have decided to make one song available online over the weekend to give a flavour of his set. That's Rockin' in the Free World and that's their decision. "You probably won't find too many Neil Young performances available freely on TV or online.' Elsewhere in the Glastonbury controversy, Prime Minister Keir Starmer called for Kneecap to be pulled from the line-up. The band was due to perform in the 2025 festival, but the PM doesn't think it would be appropriate due to recent events. He made the statement after Kneecap member Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh appeared in court as he was charged with a terror offence. The incident was relating to the musician allegedly displaying a flag and making remarks in support of the proscribed terrorist organisation Hezbollah at a concert in November last year. Liam Ó hAnnaidh goes by the stage name Mo Chara and was bailed until later in the summer, which means he is able to play at Glastonbury. The festival will kick off on June 25 up until June 30. When asked by The Sun if he thinks Kneecap should perform at the annual festival, Starmer said: "No, I don't. I think we need to come down really clearly on this. "I won't say too much, because there's a court case on, but I don't think that's appropriate." The band are scheduled to perform on the West Holts Stage on Saturday.

Health fears mount as beloved and very stressed EastEnders icon collapses twice
Elaine Knight (Harriet Thorpe) takes a turn for the worse in EastEnders next week. It's a troubling time for the Queen Vic landlady in the wake of her separation from husband George (Colin Salmon). As viewers of the BBC soap have seen, Elaine cheated on her beloved other half after believing that he had been emotionally unfaithful with her. In every crisis they've faced, he's sought support from ex-wife Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) or first spouse Sabrina. He tried to apologise for his behaviour, but she struggled to see past it – and ordered him out of their home. She's then entered self-destruct mode, allowing daughter Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) to run The Queen Vic single-handedly, and throwing away thousands of pounds to Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) so that she could attend a singles cruise. In scenes that air this week, George announces that he intends to play dirty and claim her half of the boozer given the amount of cash he's injected into it over the years. Elaine's in for a huge shock in upcoming scenes when her daughter reveals that she intends to sell her part in the boozer's ownership. She's simply had enough of having to run the place alone. A vicious row breaks out between mother and daughter, and an overwhelmed and infuriated Linda rushes out. She bumps into George at the cafe, who encourages her to see the situation from Elaine's point of view. Little do they realise, she's watching on – and wrongly assumes that they're plotting against her. Later in the week, Elaine heads to the bank in the hope of being loaned the funds to buy the pub outright. It doesn't go to plan, and her attempts to rope grandson Johnny (Charlie Suff) into being her silent partner fall short. After a traumatic day, Elaine kicks off. She orders all of the punters out, and enters into yet another furious slanging match with Linda. The stress suddenly becomes too much, and she collapses in front of a horrified Johnny and Linda.
