"Real Housewives of Potomac" star Karen Huger was found guilty of DUI and four other charges after a car crash in Maryland.
Fox - 5 DC
"Real Housewives" star Karen Huger is headed to jail.
Huger, dubbed "The Grande Dame" on Bravo reality show "The Real Housewives of Potomac," was sentenced to two years in jail by Maryland Circuit Court Judge Terrence J. McGann with one year of the sentence suspended, meaning she is expected to serve one year in jail, Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office confirmed to USA TODAY Wednesday.
On Dec. 19, Huger, 61, was found guilty of DUI, negligent driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, and failure to notify of a change in address, but was acquitted of reckless driving, following a March car accident, the state's attorney's office previously confirmed.
In addition to her time in jail, Huger faces $2900 in fines, no driving at all for a year after release and five years of supervised probation upon release with an interlock device (a car breathalyzer), according to the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office.
'Real Housewives' star Karen Huger found guilty of DUI, bodycam videos released
Huger was charged in March after crashing a vehicle while driving in Potomac, Maryland. The TV personality "crossed a median and struck street signs," a representative for the Montgomery County Police Department confirmed to USA TODAY at the time.
Huger failed to show for the three-part "RHOP" reunion, revealing in a previously taped message to her cast members on the Feb. 16 episode that she was checking herself into a rehab facility.
Karen Huger arrest video: 'RHOP' star said she was 'Thomas Jefferson's concubine' in post-accident footage
The "RHOP" reunion featured now-infamous body camera footage from the night of Huger's accident and subsequent arrest by police officers, which captured her saying, "Oh God. I'm lit."
In body-cam videos shown during the trial, Huger refused to take a sobriety test but acknowledged she had been drinking before the accident and should have "probably taken a cab."
The reality star repeatedly asked officers if they knew who she was and appeared to slur her words as she said she is "really rich" and "Thomas Jefferson's concubine." The footage also showed Huger telling an officer he would be "ashamed" when he Googles her.
Karen Huger became known as 'Grande Dame' on 'Real Housewives'
Huger has been a main cast member on the "Real Housewives of Potomac" since 2016. The show, one of two featuring all-Black casts, features wealthy and prominent Black women in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area (or DMV for D.C., Maryland, Virginia).
'Real Housewives' star Jen Shah guilty in fraud case, producer Andy Cohen doesn't 'know how to feel'
Season 9 of "RHOP" wraps Sunday with its final episode of the three-part reunion. Huger currently stars on the Bravo show with fellow main cast members Ashley Darby, Gizelle Bryant, Wendy Osefo, Mia Thornton, Stacey Rusch, Keiarna Stewart and friends of the cast Jacqueline Blake and Jassi Rideaux.
Huger's cast members have criticized her conduct throughout the season.

Trace Cyrus Blasts 'Evil' Dad Billy Ray Cyrus For Skipping Grandmother's Funeral
Trace Cyrus, the son of country musician Billy Ray Cyrus, continues to hint at family discord even as his father appears to be happily in the throes of a new relationship. On Tuesday, Trace Cyrus shared an Instagram post in which he accused the two-time Grammy winner of skipping his maternal grandmother's funeral. 'This man is so hungry for fame it's pathetic,' he wrote alongside a photo of Billy Ray Cyrus. 'He really flew to Italy for a fashion show but wouldn't come to LA for Mammie's funeral while he was still married to my mom. Even after his daughter got him a 60k private jet like he demanded then he still didn't come after the plane was paid for.' Addressing his dad directly, Trace Cyrus added: 'You're the lamest man to ever walk the planet earth. Honestly embarrassed to ever have considered you my idol. The best thing to come from your downfall is it made me go into beast mode. I refuse to be a washed up, delusional, evil person when I'm old like you.' A representative for Billy Ray Cyrus declined comment on Trace Cyrus' remarks. In addition to Trace Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus shares four more children ― including daughters Miley and Noah Cyrus ― with ex-wife Tish Cyrus. Tish Cyrus' mother, Loretta Finley, died in 2020 at age 85, according to USA Today. Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus divorced in 2022 after 28 years of marriage. Trace Cyrus, who is also a musician, has hinted at an estrangement from his father on numerous occasions. In January, he urged Billy Ray Cyrus to seek help via an open letter on Instagram in response to his dad's shaky performance at President Donald Trump's inaugural festivities that month. 'We are all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew & hoping for the day he returns,' he wrote at the time. 'You're not healthy Dad & everyone is noticing it.' Trace Cyrus' post comes just days after Miley Cyrus shrugged off rumors of a strained relationship with her dad while appearing on The New York Times' 'The Interview' podcast. 'As I've gotten older, I'm respecting my parents as individuals instead of as parents — because my mom really loved my dad for her whole life,' she explained. 'And I think being married to someone in the music industry and not being a part of it is, obviously, really hard.' These days, Billy Ray Cyrus appears to be enjoying his time with girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley nearly two months after hard-launching their romance on social media. On Tuesday, the musician acknowledged Hurley's 60th birthday with a heartfelt post on Instagram, writing: 'Happy birthday to the love of my life.' Pam Bondi Warns Of More Arrests In California Amid Protests Against Immigration Raids
Attorney General Pam Bondi said people who loot or assault law enforcement will be subject to arrest after the Trump administration called in troops to Los Angeles against Gov. Gavin Newsom's (D) wishes. 'President Trump is going to make America safe again. We're going to protect Americans, and that includes Californians. If Gavin Newsom isn't going to protect them, we are,' Bondi told Lawrence Jones III on 'Fox & Friends' Wednesday. 'If you loot a business in California during this, we're charging you with robbery under the Hobbs Act,' Bondi warned. 'No longer are the days of non-prosecution for looting. It's a criminal act. You've seen on the news, all these stores being burglarized, vandalized.' 'All of our police officers, all of our federal, state, local law enforcement officers, being abused out there trying to keep California safe. Jointly, we've all made over 190 arrests, more coming. If you hit a police officer, if you assault a police officer, state or federal, we are coming after you,' Bondi continued. Bondi joins the litany of Republicans, including President Donald Trump, painting a picture of a lawless Los Angeles where 'riots' are underway and 'insurrectionists' are taking over, inviting immediate comparisons to the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, that aimed to overturn the results of the 2020 election. The demonstrations in Los Angeles, which are largely peaceful, popped up as a result of Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids across California. Trump signed an order authorizing at least 2,000 National Guard troops to be sent to Los Angeles, despite Newsom's opposition, on Saturday. Then the Pentagon deployed an additional 2,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines. Since the start of the protests, the Los Angeles Police Department has arrested 385 people, USA Today reported on Wednesday. Moreover, ICE agents have detained 330 immigrants in Los Angeles so far, White House officials said. Mayor Karen Bass announced a curfew in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday that is set to continue for an unspecified amount of time. Newsom struck back at the Trump administration on Monday by filing a lawsuit over Trump's commandeering of the state's National Guard troops. The following day, he filed a motion seeking an emergency order to stop the Trump administration's 'unlawful militarization of Los Angeles.' Bass and Newsom have said that the federal government's actions are escalating tensions and testing how far this administration can take authoritarianism. 'This was provoked by the White House. The reason why? We don't know,' Bass said at a press conference on Wednesday. 'I posit that maybe we are part of a national experiment to determine how far the federal government can go in reaching in and taking over power from a governor, power from a local jurisdiction.' She also claimed the Trump administration's actions show it is deliberately 'trying to cause fear and panic.' In an urgent address on Tuesday evening, Newsom said the issue is bigger than Los Angeles. 'When Donald Trump sought blanket authority to commandeer the National Guard, he made that order apply to every state. This is about all of us. California may be first, but it clearly will not end here,' he said. Newsom called Trump 'a president who wants to be bound by no law or constitution.' 'Authoritarian regimes begin by targeting people who are least able to defend themselves,' Newsom continued. 'But they do not stop there. Trump and his loyalists, they thrive on division because it allows them to take more power and exert even more control.' 'I felt betrayed': 'Love is Blind' star Lydia explains why she divorced husband Milton
'I felt betrayed': 'Love is Blind' star Lydia explains why she divorced husband Milton Show Caption Hide Caption Milton from 'Love is Blind' reflects on fiancée Lydia's past with Uche Milton Johnson from Netflix's "Love is Blind" opened up about his relationship with fiancée Lydia and why he loves that they're so "different." Fan favorite "Love Is Blind" couple Lydia Velez Gonzalez and Milton Johnson are divorcing after three years of marriage. The pair, who met on Season 5 of the hit Netflix dating show, are splitting after turmoil in their marriage, Gonzalez revealed on a Wednesday, June 11 episode of the What's the Reality? podcast. While their marriage once felt like a fairy tale, the 34-year-old geologist said she now feels that Johnson was never ready to be a husband. "It wasn't one thing. Yeah, it was a layer of situations and things that just kept piling it up," Gonzalez told host and fellow "Love Is Blind" alum Amber Desiree "AD" Smith. When Gonzalez informed Johnson that she would file for divorce, he allegedly said he would not sign them unless there was a non-disclosure agreement. "And that said enough for me to know that I needed to share my truth and my experience, because I've been suffering in silence," she said. "This is just my chance to speak my truth for me and for other people that always reach out to me and tell me that I'm an inspiration. I feel that it was very hypocritical me not share this with the world when they have been so transparent with me." Lydia said Milton would not cut off 'disrespectful' ex-partner One of the first signs of trouble in their marriage was an argument the two had about one of Johnson's ex-partners, according to Gonzalez. She considered the woman "very insistent" and "very disrespectful towards our marriage." She added that he also kept a ripped up love letter from the woman in a shoebox at their apartment. At one point, Gonzalez went through Johnson's phone and said she found a text from him referring to the woman that read "I want to (expletive) that person." "When I saw that my heart went to the floor. I felt like betrayed and disrespected," she said. "And then I remember calling him and telling him, 'how long has it been that you want to (expletive) this person.' And he was like, 'what are we talking about.'" Johnson denied any infidelity, adding that he would never jeopardize their marriage and said "that's how boys talk," according to Gonzalez. USA TODAY has reached out to Johnson for comment. 'Love is Blind' pair tried marriage counseling Gonzalez said that her husband felt that she had violated their trust and one day called her "stupid and an untrustworthy person." "I don't consider myself a jealous person, unless you give me motives to, once you give me motives to I'll become a detective. I don't care because my gut instinct is so clever. I mean, it never fails me," she said. She added that the two participated in couple's therapy but that she felt it was not working. Gonzalez said other issues included Johnson becoming distant and addicted to the video game "Halo" and him allegedly scolding her in front of his family for cursing too much. Over time, she said his comments "kept making me feel small" and eventually made the decision to end the relationship she once felt showed her the "kind of love that I've never received before." The pair met on Season 5 of the reality dating show on Netflix, in which contestants looking for romance interact via pods designed to keep their appearances a mystery.
