Patna: While crucial coordination committee meeting of Grand Alliance is scheduled on July 5, the three Left parties are activating their poll plan.
The CPI(ML) would conduct its day-long yatra in Patna on Thursday, which could disrupt the traffic movement.
The yatra is conclusion of its 10-day 'Badlo Bihar' yatra.
CPI(ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya would lead the yatra and he would be joined by senior party functionaries.
CPI's general secretary D Raja participated in the executive members and district secretaries two-day meeting that began on Tuesday. In his address, he appealed to the party's workers to make preparations for the assembly elections.
Meanwhile, state CPM functionary Arun Mishra said the party's national leaders are visiting the state regularly to build polls strategy.

T'puram: After an abortive attempt to join PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) scheme, the general education department decided to withdraw from it. General education minister V Sivankutty announced the decision on Wednesday after a meeting with student organizations. Sivankutty said that enrolling in PM SHRI scheme would be suicidal because it means accepting NEP (National Education Policy). He added that all student groups, except ABVP, wanted the govt to reject the scheme. Earlier, CPM had decided to join the scheme because the state would lose a significant amount of central assistance if it skipped the initiative. State govt also said the Centre was withholding its share of several education schemes because Kerala refused to join PM SHRI. Sivankutty had brought the scheme to the state cabinet for approval, but CPI representatives in the govt objected and vetoed it. After that, Sivankutty criticized CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam and questioned whether the agriculture department, led by the CPI minister, would also refuse to sign several central govt schemes. Sivankutty said the Centre withheld around Rs 1,500 crore owed to Kerala. Tensions at Kerala Univ as SFI demands removal of Bharat Mata portrait
Tension prevailed at the Kerala University Senate campus here on Wednesday over the display of a portrait of Bharat Mata as part of a private function attended by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. Activists of the Students Federation of India (SFI), the students' wing of the ruling CPI(M), engaged in a war of words with the organisers of the event, Padmanabha Seva Samithi, and police, demanding to remove the portrait from the senate hall. However, the organisers, a pro-right wing outfit, said they would not remove the Bharat Mata portrait from the stage as part of the event as they booked the hall after meeting all necessary procedures. SFI leaders and university syndicate members, however, made it clear that they would not allow the programme to be held if the portrait was not removed from there, triggering tense moments on the campus. Notwithstanding the tense situation, the governor reached the campus and attended the event. Besides the SFI activists, the workers of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) also took part in the protest outside the Senate campus. DYFI is the youth wing of the CPI(M). It was a tough time for the police personnel to control the protesters who squatted on the road and raised slogans against the display of the Bharat Mata portrait. Some of them even tore away the display board of the programme placed in front of the gate. The southern state has been witnessing a tussle between Arlekar and the Marxist party-led LDF government over the display of the Bharat Mata portrait during official events at the Raj Bhavan here. The Bharat Mata portrait row involving Governor Arlekar recently triggered a series of street protests and a war of words on June 21, with the ruling CPI(M)'s official mouthpiece publishing a hard-hitting editorial against the Raj Bhavan.
