'No information about INDIA bloc meeting...': CPI Gen Sec D Raja
New Delhi [India], June 3 (ANI): CPI General Secretary D Raja alleged that he received no information regarding the INDIA bloc meeting at the Constitutional Club, New Delhi, today. He said that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had not informed him about the meeting. Speaking to ANI, D Raja said, 'I have no information about any meeting of the INDIA bloc. I have got no information from either Mr Kharge or Mr Rahul Gandhi. The media is reporting on a meeting of the opposition parties.' A group of INDIA bloc leaders is meeting at the Constitution Club today after more than 200 MPs from the Lok Sabha signed a letter to PM Modi calling for a Special Session of Parliament to discuss Operation Sindoor. D Raja supported the demand for a Special Session of Parliament, alleging that Prime Minister Modi has not said anything on the ceasefire statement by US President Donald Trump. 'As the Communist Party of India, we have been consistently demanding a special session of Parliament to discuss Operation Sindoor and related questions. The PM has not yet uttered a word about what Mr Trump said. I don't know whether or not Mr Modi and his government will agree to a special session of Parliament,' he said. Earlier, Opposition leaders demanded a Special Session regarding Operation Sindoor. RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to call a special session of Parliament to discuss the recent cross-border military operations against Pakistan. In his letter, Jha said the people of India feel they are being 'kept in the dark,' and deserve clarity on the government's decisions and their broader impact. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge demanded a special session of Parliament concerning Operation Sindoor, alleging that the government had 'misled the nation.' CPI (Marxist) General Secretary MA Baby also wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to convene a special session of Parliament to address the de-escalation of hostilities with Pakistan. "Will support impeachment motion against Justice Yashwant Varma": CPI's D Raja
New Delhi [India], May 28 (ANI): Amid reports of the Centre considering an impeachment motion against Justice Yashwant Varma over allegations of unaccounted money recovered from his residence, CPI General Secretary D Raja on Wednesday said that credibility of judiciary needs to be restored and his party will support the action against Justice Varma. 'Let them bring the impeachment motion. The Judiciary should understand that it has to work within the framework of the Constitution... To restore the credibility of our judiciary, there must be some strong action. We will support the impeachment motion. But the point is, when will it be brought in? We raised several critical questions about the money found in the judge's residence, but concrete action has been delayed... Our party will participate in the debate before the Parliament when this issue is discussed,' Raja told ANI. Earlier this month, the Supreme Court refused to entertain a plea seeking the registration of an FIR against Justice Yashwant Varma over the allegations. A bench led by Justice Abhay S Oka suggested that the petitioner, Advocate Mathews J Nedumpara, should first file a representation to the Prime Minister and the President of India before approaching the Supreme Court. 'File representation before those authorities first calling them to take action, then file writ seeking mandamus', the bench stated before dismissing the plea. The Court noted that, according to a press release issued by the Supreme Court on May 8, the in-house inquiry committee has submitted its report, which has since been forwarded to the Prime Minister and the President of India. The Court was not inclined to consider the submissions in the plea, as it was of the view that the matter had already been initiated as per the official procedure. 'You don't know the contents of the report (inquiry committee report), even we don't know. The CJI has sent the report to the Prime Minister and President', Justice Oka stated. The Court thus suggested that the counsel file a representation before those aforesaid authorities first, before moving a petition in the Supreme Court seeking directions. On May 4, a panel of judges tasked with conducting an internal inquiry into allegations of cash being discovered at Justice Yashwant Varma's official residence submitted its report to the then Chief Justice of India, Sanjiv Khanna. Political parties in country should know what they will brief: D Raja on all-party delegations
New Delhi [India], May 22 (ANI): Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary D Raja on Thursday reiterated his demand for a special session of Parliament to discuss the developments surrounding Operation Sindoor. He raised concerns over the lack of transparency regarding briefings by Indian delegations, stating that political parties remain unaware of what is being communicated to other countries. Speaking with ANI, Raja said, 'The government has decided to send all-party delegations to some countries, but CPI has been asking that the government convene a special session of the Parliament. What is the assessment of the current emerging situation? What is the future course of action that the government is contemplating? The government has not consulted anything with political parties, and the government decided to send delegations.' 'Parties agreed, they are going, but what will they brief? The government should give them certain briefs that are not known to political parties in the country,' D Raja said. The Global Outreach on Operation Sindoor aims to convey India's strong and united message of zero tolerance for terrorism, as the delegations engage with governments and civil society in partner nations to build understanding and support for India's fight against cross-border terrorism. The delegations are led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, BJP's Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda, JD(U)'s Sanjay Kumar Jha, DMK's Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule and Shiv Sena's Eknath Shrikant Shinde. Earlier in the day, a Shrikant Shinde-led delegation met with UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi as part of India's global outreach against terrorism after Operation Sindoor. Another delegation from India met with Takeshi Iwaya, Foreign Minister of Japan, reiterating India's unwavering national consensus and firm commitment to combat terrorism in all its forms. The Japanese Foreign Minister expressed strong support for India's fight against terrorism and lauded the restraint shown by India, urging strict punishment for perpetrators of terror acts. Delgation leader, JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha said,' We presented India's stand strongly. He appreciated it and said that action should be taken against terrorism. He also appreciated the restraint India had shown. He supported India's stand against terrorism. He said that terrorism should be eliminated. He added that EAM Dr S Jaishankar had briefed him on this. He offered his condolences on the Pahalgam attack and said that they (terrorists) should be punished.' (ANI)

"Several critical questions need to be answered by PM Modi...": D Raja backs Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi [India], May 20 (ANI): Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D Raja has backed Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's remarks questioning the loss of aircraft during Operation Sindoor, asserting that Prime Minister Modi and the Union government must answer several critical questions. Speaking to ANI on Monday, Raja reiterated his party's call for a special Parliament session to discuss the matter, accusing the government of being reluctant to present all the facts and figures to the public. 'Rahul Gandhi asked this question; several critical questions need to be answered by PM Modi and the Union government. That is why our party, the Communist Party of India, has been demanding a special Parliament session. Why is the government reluctant to place all facts and figures on the floor of the Parliament?... Rahul Gandhi can raise several questions, I can raise several questions, and so can several other parties. How will they respond to all the questions unless the Parliament meets and discusses these issues with all seriousness,' D Raja said. On Monday, Rahul Gandhi again questioned External Affairs Minister Jaishankar, accusing him of being silent about how many aircraft the Indian Air Force lost during the operation. He said that the nation 'deserves the truth.' 'EAM Jaishankar's silence isn't just telling -- it's damning. So I'll ask again: How many Indian aircraft did we lose because Pakistan knew? This wasn't a lapse. It was a crime. And the nation deserves the truth,' Rahul Gandhi posted on X. Congress MP Manickam Tagore endorsed his leader and said that the nation deserves the truth and Parliament deserves accountability. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi in his post on X, alleged wrongdoing by the government, stating: 'Informing Pakistan at the start of our attack was a crime. EAM has publicly admitted that the GOI did it. Who authorised it? How many aircraft did our air force lose as a result?' Calling this statement an 'utter misrepresentation of facts,' the Ministry of External Affairs had said that the EAM had stated that the government warned Pakistan at 'the early phase after Operation Sindoor's commencement' and not before it. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that left 26 civilians dead. As part of the operation, Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, eliminating over 100 terrorists linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
