Odisha: 82.7 per cent of students clear Plus II, girls outdo boys in all streams

BHUBANESWAR : The Annual Higher Secondary Examination (AHSE) 2025 conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has recorded an overall pass percentage of 82.77. The results were announced by School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond here on Wednesday.
The overall pass percentage in the four streams of arts, science, commerce and vocational education this year has recorded a marginal decrease by 0.61 per cent (pc) over the previous year, in which a total 83.38 pc students had cleared the examination.
Science stream recorded the highest pass percentage of 87.5, followed by commerce at 83.20, arts at 80.51 and vocational education 60.57. In 2024, the pass percentage was 86.93 for science, 82.27 for commerce, 80.95 for arts and 68.02 for vocational education.
A total of 3.8 lakh students appeared for the examination this year. Girls, yet again, outperformed boys in all the streams.

1 2 Bhubaneswar: Top scorers in Plus II examinations , whose results were declared on Wednesday, underscored the significance of time management , clarity on subjects and concepts, and focus as their mantra of success. While the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) did not release an official list of toppers, many students who appeared for the Plus II exams performed exceptionally well. This year, more than 2,200 students scored above 90% compared to 546 students last year. Kashis Naik of BJB Higher Secondary School in Bhubaneswar scored 557 out of 600 (92.9%) in the humanities stream. "Hard work, routine and balance helped me score good marks in the exams. I studied for six to seven hours regularly, apart from classes. I focused more on understanding concepts rather than memorising them." Most of the top-scoring students said they avoided last-minute rote learning and relied on textbooks and self-prepared notes. "Solving question papers of previous years and practising sample papers helped me a lot in scoring good marks. Teachers were always a phone call away and helped in clearing doubts," said Goutam Giri of Baripada, who scored 571 out of 600 (95.2%) in the science stream. Students from all streams -- Science, Arts, Commerce, and Vocational -- can now access their results online. The results will be made available on the official websites and soon. For now, students can check their results using the DigiLocker CHSE Odisha Class 12 results for 2025 have been officially declared, revealing the overall performance across various streams and genders. This year, the pass percentage stood at 87.50% in Science, 83.20% in Commerce, 80.51% in Arts, and 60.57% in the Vocational stream.
