WWE star Liv Morgan suffers shoulder injury that caused ‘Raw' match to get cut short
The plans for the WWE women's title scene may have to be changed.
Star Liv Morgan suffered what Michael Cole described as a dislocated shoulder during Monday's 'Raw,' which forced her match against Kairi Sane to be cut short.

PWInsider described the injury as '100%' legitimate and not a wrestling angle.
Morgan, one-half of the women's tag team champions, suffered the injury when she fell to the mat in the opening moments of the bout.
Her hands hit the mat while she fell face-first, and she immediately grimaced in pain.

The 31-year-old New Jersey native grabbed her right elbow and then rolled out of the ring.
Morgan hobbled for a few seconds before falling to her knees, clutching at that right shoulder.

She clearly seemed in pain while she shuffled along the floor on her knees.
The announcers eventually caught on that Morgan may have legitimately been hurt while Sane held her arms out in the ring, seemingly unsure what was happening.
'That an injury or something?' asked Corey Graves, who was filling in on color commentary for Pat McAfee.

'I think so,' Cole replied. 'Liv may have injured her shoulder.'

Sane remained in the ring with her hands up and played to the crowd, while the referee also stayed put.
The broadcast then cut to a highlight of the move that caused the injury before Cole mentioned a doctor had come to the floor to check on Morgan.
The match did not continue, with Sane being declared the victor.

A potential serious injury would be a tough blow for WWE since Morgan is one of the pillars of the women's division.

The company seemingly hinted at a feud between Morgan and the returning Nikki Bella on last week's 'Raw' with the all-women 'Evolution' pay-per-view coming in July, and any absence would affect the tag team championship picture since she shares the belts with Raquel Rodriguez.
Morgan has not yet commented on the situation on social media.

Auburn Staying In Race for 5-Star WR Coveted By Alabama
Auburn Staying In Race for 5-Star WR Coveted By Alabama originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Having grown up in a state where the rivalry is everything, Cederian Morgan is well aware of the feud between the Auburn Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide. The five-star receiver from Alexander City, Ala., is being courted by both. Advertisement He paid Auburn one final visit last weekend. His comments after the trip should excite Hugh Freeze's program. 'Know all the coaches, all the players,' Morgan told 247Sports on Sunday. 'They all know my family. I've been up here probably a million times.' Tigers quarterback Deuce Knight, the No. 6 passer in 247Sports' Class of 2025 rankings, wants to team up with Morgan during the coming seasons. 'They've definitely been on me. Deuce has been on me the most, though,' Morgan told Rivals. 'I know Deuce is a great quarterback who can give me the ball however I need it, so that'll be a big plus for me.' Advertisement Auburn has a deep stable of pass-catchers, including Cam Coleman, but that's not a drawback for Morgan, who's second on 247Sports' Class of 2026 receivers list. LSU commit Tristen Keys is the only wideout ahead of him. 2026 five-star wide receiver prospect Cederian Morgan© Ken Ruinard - staff / USA TODAY NETWORK 'It's really anywhere I go, nobody's going to give up their spot,' Morgan said. 'So you got to go out there and work for it. I feel like with their receiver room, you come here, it's going to make you work even harder. I know all the guys outside of football. We're cool, got a very good connection. I just feel like on the field it's going to be even better. We're going to push each other to surpass each other and stuff like that.' Kalen DeBoer and his program have one more chance to impress Morgan on his official visit to Tuscaloosa next week. He'll decide on his destination on July 2, choosing between Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, and Colorado. Auburn QB Deuce Knight is leading the recruiting push for five-star WR Cederian Morgan
Auburn QB Deuce Knight is leading the recruiting push for five-star WR Cederian Morgan There is no greater factor in Auburn's pursuit of Cederian Morgan than freshman QB Deuce Knight. Auburn football is aiming to land the No. 1 player from Alabama in the 2026 cycle, and it is using its prized freshman quarterback as its weapon. Five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan took his official visit to Auburn over the weekend, where he spent time with current players and worked on developing his connection to wide receivers coach Marcus Davis and head coach Hugh Freeze. Freeze and Davis have been active in recruiting Morgan for quite some time; however, the recruiter who has been on Morgan "the most" is freshman quarterback Deuce Knight. "I know Deuce (Knight) is a great quarterback who can give me the ball however I need it, so that'll be a big plus for me. I think if I did come, I'm probably going to get a year with Deuce, two years with Deuce, something like that, and then it'll be next up," Morgan said in an interview with Auburn Undercover. "So kind of both. Looking to who's here in my class and what other players in my class are going to be here, because our junior and maybe senior year, that's who we're really going to be, the team is going to be around." According to both 247Sports and On3, Auburn and Alabama are the top contenders for Morgan ahead of his July 2 commitment date. According to his quote to Auburn Undercover, Auburn's recruiting haul may be the deciding factor in whether he comes to the Plains. Auburn is currently No. 55 in the 247Sports 2026 rankings, so a few commitments from strong offensive weapons could ultimately sway him to Auburn. Trick Williams: From HBCU Football to Wrestling Royalty
In a history-making moment that stunned the professional wrestling world, Trick Williams-real name Matrick Belton-etched his name into the record books by becoming the first WWE-contracted superstar to win the TNA World Championship. The victory, which occurred at NXT Battleground on May 25, 2025, is not just a milestone for Williams but also a cultural moment for HBCUs, highlighting the often-overlooked path from HBCU athletics to global superstardom. Williams began his athletic career in HBCU football at Hampton University. In 2012, he played wide receiver for the Pirates football team, making modest on-field contributions-four catches for 33 yards across six games, including a memorable 20-yard reception against Florida A&M. Though he remained on the roster in 2013, playing time eluded him. That didn't dim his drive. Williams later transferred to the University of South Carolina, where his athletic prowess blossomed. In 2015, he earned a starting role with the Gamecocks, logging 11 receptions for 121 yards. While his college football numbers weren't earth-shattering, his physical gifts and drive attracted NFL attention, and he received a minicamp invite from the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018. But fate had a different arena in mind. In early 2021, Williams signed with WWE and reported to its NXT brand. With charisma that lit up the screen and a physicality rooted in years of football, it wasn't long before he captivated fans and rose through the ranks. In just a few short years, he became NXT North American Champion and then captured the NXT Championship twice-cementing his place as one of WWE's hottest rising stars. Yet it was his crossover victory at NXT Battleground that shifted the wrestling landscape. Facing TNA's Joe Hendry, Williams shocked the industry by winning the TNA World Championship, a belt historically held by legends like Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, and Sting. No WWE-contracted wrestler had ever done it before. Williams sealed the deal with his devastating finisher-"The Trick Shot"-after strategically using the title belt during the match. The moment drew comparisons to classic wrestling invasions and crossovers, but this wasn't just storyline chaos. It was a career-defining statement. The fallout from the win was immediate and unforgettable. Williams declared himself the "face of TNA" on WWE programming, cheekily rebranding the belt as the "TrickNA Championship." His swagger wasn't just for show-he issued open challenges to wrestling icons like AJ Styles and Kurt Angle, signaling he had no intention of playing it safe with his newly claimed title. Up next: Williams will defend his TrickNA crown against Mike Santana, a respected veteran with something to prove. The feud has already ignited online buzz, with fans speculating whether Williams's crossover reign is just beginning-or nearing a dramatic end. For Hampton University and the broader HBCU community, Trick Williams's meteoric rise serves as a powerful reminder of the talent cultivated within historically Black colleges and universities. His journey-from catching passes on the Pirates' gridiron to lifting one of professional wrestling's most storied titles-is a testament to perseverance, adaptability, and self-belief. HBCU athletes have long faced an uphill battle for national recognition, often overlooked by mainstream media and professional leagues. Williams's success breaks that mold. His story isn't just about athletic transition-it's about cultural elevation. He represents a new generation of HBCU alumni making waves in unconventional arenas. With WWE and TNA both placing their chips on his star power, Trick Williams is now in rare air. He's proven he can draw eyes, generate headlines, and deliver in high-pressure moments. Whether his future holds more title unifications, a main roster debut, or headlining WrestleMania, one thing is certain-Trick Williams is no longer just a rising star. He's the moment. And for HBCUs across the country, his triumph is more than just a win. It's a shining example of where grit, charisma, and HBCU pride can take you, even to the very top of the wrestling world.
