
At least 7 people injured in Lawrence Heights shooting, paramedics say
At least seven people have been injured in a shooting in the Lawrence Heights neighbourhood, Toronto paramedics say.
Emergency crews were called to Flemington and Zachary Roads in the area of Ranee Avenue and Allen Road just after 8:30 p.m. for a shooting.
Toronto paramedics told CP24 that they were treating seven patients with injuries ranging from critical to serious.
Police have not released suspect information.

Man wanted for potential shooting: RCMP
Athabasca RCMP have a warrant out for the arrest of Billy Joe Henry Deren, who fled the scene of a shooting on Aug. 13, 2025. (Source: RCMP) Athabasca RCMP are asking for the public's help finding a man who's wanted for allegedly shooting a woman in Rochester on Wednesday. Around 5:38 a.m., police responded to a call that a 44-year-old woman had been shot. When they arrived on scene, a suspect had fled. The woman was airlifted to the hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. Investigators now have a warrant out for the arrest of Billy Joe Henry Deren, a 46-year-old Athabasca resident. He is described as: light complexion 5 feet 5 inches tall 130 pounds brown hair and blue eyes Deren is known to drive a black 2014 Ford F150 with Alberta plates BLT1508, say police. Police also say not to approach him if you see him.

Police arrest suspect accused of sexually assaulting three women at downtown Toronto parks
Faisal Muhammad, 50, is facing three counts of sexual assault. (Toronto police handout) Toronto police have arrested the suspect wanted in connection with three sexual assaults at downtown parks. Police were initially investigating two cases but in a news release on Wednesday, they confirmed that they've been notified of a third incident also involving the same suspect. It happened on the afternoon of July 11 at HTO Park in the area of Queens Quay West and Reese Street. Police said the suspect asked the victim to take his picture and shortly after, he introduced himself as a palm reader who could tell her fortune. The suspect took the victim to an isolated area, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her. Similar incidents occurred at Coronation Park on July 31 and at the Toronto Music Garden on June 27. Police said the suspect, identified as 50-year-old Faisal Muhammed of no fixed address, was arrested on Wednesday. He has been charged with three counts of sexual assault. They have released his image, as investigators believe there may be more victims.
