The tarot's Year of The Hermit — what your star sign can expect for the rest of

Metro23-07-2025
I don't know how 2025 has gone for you so far (good, I hope). But did you know that this is, in numerology, a '9' year (2+0+2+5=9) which links to the ninth card of the tarot, The Hermit, and therefore the perfect time to pause, reflect, and reconnect with your inner wisdom.
The Hermit is soulful in solitude, at ease with his own mind and spirit, and constantly learning, receiving insight and wisdom that he uses to guide his decisions and life plans.
Burnout, detachment and inner healing are key societal themes at the moment, so perhaps this Hermit archetype couldn't be more relevant. And now we're more than halfway through the year, perhaps you can see yourself starting to retreat from the crowds, the noise, the social media chatter, the constant outside influences and pressures.
Look within, go within, seek your own peace within that no one else can disturb. No one is allowed in your head but you.
You can embody Hermit energy through the likes of a daily pause, quiet courage, or intentional stillness — and to help you along I'd like to share a free, guided meditation I created in collaboration with my friend Alicja in Ireland. It only takes 15 minutes, and should be done, ideally, with headphones in when you have time to be still, quiet, and alone.

As I'm launching my new tarot and oracle deck, 'The Light In The Dark' – designed to help people find strength, hope, and encouragement in difficult times – in a Hermit year, this meditation seemed like the ideal ally to itsdeck's healing power.
Now though, let's look at what lies ahead for you in the remainder of this Hermit year.
How can you align with the insights, wisdom, and guidance meant just for you, to take through the autumn and winter into fulfilment and optimism for 2026? Let the tarot guide you with my mini forecast for what remains…
Tarot card for the rest of the Year of the Hermit: Four of Cups
Your message from The Hermit is to practice gratitude. Don't take this as a slight, or a feeling that you're un grateful. Rather, this is a nudge to amplify your natural optimism and appreciation for your lucky, happy life because that is the key to making it even better.
Like attracts like. If you vibrate at a negative, unappreciative, bored, flat frequency then that is what you'll attract more of. No thanks!
So, start a gratitude practice. A journal, a list, a daily prayer, a candle lit each evening and a tableside chat about the good things which happened that day, or even a mantra repeated morning, lunch and evening e.g. 'I welcome miracles. I live in gratitude. I attract abundance.'
Tarot card for the rest of the Year of the Hermit: The Moon
Your message from The Hermit is to research yourself! Take the rest of 2025 to really, truly get under your own skin and find answers to the unanswered questions, mysteries, riddles, and unfinished business in your realm.
You are a conundrum. You deserve attention and study. Good questions to meditate on and pursue/test/research, if nothing obvious is on your mind, might include: What do I need to feel safe, loved, and fully myself?
What patterns do I keep repeating — and what are they trying to teach me?
When do I feel most alive, aligned, and at peace?
What am I afraid people might discover about me — and why?
What am I no longer willing to abandon myself for?
Tarot card for the rest of the Year of the Hermit: The Hierophant
Your message from The Hermit is to take something deeply personal, meaningful, soulful, spiritual and inspiring to you (something you want to root in your future, learn more about, become an expert in) and join a circle, forum, class, workshop, or group to do so.
This might be an educational, even career-based, learning goal, or a spiritual practice, a creative enterprise or skill. You have nurtured this wish or desire solo for long enough. Your goal now in 2025 is to join into a collective with like-minded folk and accelerate your learning and practice.
It's time to join in, collaborate, share, and receive help from others. This will be the game-changing step. This will make this wish a reality in your everyday life.
Tarot card for the rest of the Year of the Hermit: Six of Cups More Trending
Your message from The Hermit is to spend this next part of 2025 reconnecting with your inner child. The best parts of your childhood are locked in your heart and soul as deep nostalgia. There is so much love and authenticity there. Tap into it.
Your inner child knows you better than anyone. They understand what makes you tick, what you love doing, what your potential really is, and how to relax, enjoy, live easy and well. The Hermit wants you to take a sentimental journey to discover these shadowed parts of the history and character.
The following mantra might ignite new memories and ideas: 'It's safe to be soft. It's safe to be curious. It's safe to be me.'

Getting out your old music, photos, books, school work, albums, family history, games, or clothes may trigger thoughts too. We often circle our inner child our whole adult lives, only to realise they were waiting for us to notice them, take their advice, and be who we always were anyway!

Channel 4 comedy branded 'a gift' to be greatest comeback of 2025

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video They're back! After more than a decade, David Mitchell and Robert Webb are bringing back the sketch show with a brand new comedy. Channel 4 has finally released a first look clip and image from the upcoming series Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping, a brand new sketch show hitting screens in September 2025. The six-part season reunites comedy giants Mitchell and Webb on screen for the first time since 2017's Back and 12 years since the end of Peep Show, where they'll be joined by the next generation of comedy heroes, including Ghosts star and Great British Sewing Bee's best-ever host Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Lara Ricote, Stevie Martin, and Krystal Evans. The first preview of Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping shows a flustered Mitchell sweating his way through airport security, manifesting our biggest fears while also feeling terrifyingly accurate. It's painfully awkward, completely absurd and fans are already calling the show 'a gift'. While many viewers of the preview said they 'can't wait', Mitchell and Webb fan Henry Shevlin has high hopes the show will be even funnier. He wrote on X: 'Mitchell & Webb are probably my favourite British comedians so looking forward to this. The sketch itself isn't that brilliant but maybe C4 went for one with 'broad appeal' and the actual show will be weirder and nerdier.' Ahead of its launch, Mitchell and Webb said: 'When Channel 4 asked us to do another sketch show we were startled, bemused and available. 'It's a perilous time for the industry and so it's our hope that relaunching the trickiest genre of comedy is a brilliant piece of counterintuitive commissioning. 'And we're confident that unlike Roger Moore with his shoe on the bonnet of a car teetering on the edge of a cliff in For Your Eyes Only [REPLACE WITH 21ST CENTURY REFERENCE?] we're not about to give British TV comedy a final lethal nudge into the abyss. 'We're looking forward to working with our brilliant new cast despite their youth and talent and would like to encourage viewers to watch the advert break carefully and do their best to buy something. 'It doesn't have to be a car but, you know, a box of chocolates or an app or something.' More Trending Smith-Bynoe added: 'Getting to join this project with comedy legends Mitchell & Webb feels like getting to sit on the grown-ups table that you've been trying to get on for years, then you realise the grown-ups are just as funny, silly and they'll let you have a sip of Advocaat. 'I'm really excited to be a part of this long-awaited return of comedy royalty.' The duo's last sketch show, Mitchell and Webb Look, won them a Bafta for Best Comedy and ran for four seasons on the BBC.
