Taylor Swift's got a new album coming. What we know about 'Life of a Showgirl' so far

NBC News2 days ago
Taylor Swift's fondness for dropping clues and making sleuths out of her most dedicated fans is on full display this week after she announced her upcoming 12th album, "The Life Of A Showgirl."
The pop sensation has left quite a few blank spaces for fans after announcing the album title on her website at 12:12 a.m. Tuesday. Swift's website was then updated with the option to pre-order the record on vinyl, cassette and CD.
When will the album be available?
Swift has not yet revealed when "The Life Of A Showgirl" will actually come out.
The pre-order description on her website said orders will be shipped by Oct. 13, 2025. But made clear that this was not the release date.
New music typically releases on Fridays, in part to maximize how well a song or album does on the charts. That means Swift's new album could release any week between Aug. 15 and Oct. 10.
What does the album cover look like?
It's clear based on the album rollout so far that her new era will be defined by the colors orange and mint green.
Taylor Nation, the social media accounts associated with Swift's team, posted an Instagram carousel Monday with 12 photos featuring Swift wearing orange. Her website was later updated with a countdown for the album reveal with an orange glitter background.
When "The Life Of A Showgirl" pre-orders dropped, however, no album art was shown. A mint green rectangle with an orange lock was put in the place of any cover art, which Swift later made her social media profile picture.
Swift could reveal the album art during Wednesday's episode of the "New Heights" podcast, hosted by boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason.
In a teaser clip posted Tuesday morning, Swift is speaking to Jason Kelce when she pulls out a vinyl case with "T.S." in orange on it. She then pulled out what appeared to be the record with the artwork blurred out.
'This is my new brand new album, 'The Life of a Show Girl,' Swift said, as the retired Philadelphia Eagles center screamed in excitement.
Fans are doing their best Sherlock impressions
With so little to — but so much — to go, fans are in a tizzy trying to decipher what clues Swift may have dropped about the new album.
Her website updated Wednesday with a countdown four and half hours before 7 p.m. ET, the podcast release time. The screen showed a door in the spotlight slowly lowering to a small glitter orange square with a lock on it.
It's the same orange lock seen over the album cover on the pre-order. The door is also the same one seen in visuals during 'The Eras Tour' at the end of the show when Swift performed 'Karma.'
The padlock appears to have an imprint of a key in the same shape as 'The Eras Tour" stage.
Swifties, the self-proclaimed title for the singer's fanbase, have already reflected on the most obvious Easter eggs she left behind. The singer's tour performance of "I Can Do It With A Broken Heart" had a showgirl theme.
There were also many instances where she wore orange throughout "The Eras Tour," as made obvious by the Taylor Nation post on Monday.
Fans also pointed out that the last show of the tour was Dec. 8, or 12/8, and that the album was announced Aug. 12, or 8/12.
Eagle-eyed sleuths are speculating that either the album or a lead single will release Sept. 12, because the Taylor Nation carousel was posted at 9:12 a.m. on Monday.
Swift's profile on Spotify uploaded a new playlist, titled 'And, baby, that's show business for you," around the time of the album name reveal Tuesday.
The playlist featured all the songs Swift made with producers Max Martin and Shellback in alphabetical order. Swifties believe this could be the sign she's diverging from her good friend Jack Antonoff, who has been the producer on her most recent albums, for "The Life of a Showgirl."

Taylor Swift looking at Las Vegas venues amid 'The Life of a Showgirl' announcement

Taylor Swift looking at Las Vegas venues amid 'The Life of a Showgirl' announcement originally appeared on The Sporting News Taylor Swift is reportedly looking at Las Vegas venues to showcase her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl. According to The US Sun, "Taylor's team has been talking about Vegas gigs in private for a while, including at a dinner a few months back in Nashville with other music managers," an insider told the publication. "They are seeing what would work for the new album and have specifically been eyeing up concerts at Sphere," the insider added." "Nothing is confirmed yet, but they are discussing logistics and which venue could work best," the source concluded. Swift announced her 12th studio album on her boyfriend Travis Kelce's podcast New Heights, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce. Due to The Sphere's location in Vegas, which matches the album's theme and unique visual assets -- it features the largest LED screen ever constructed -- the venue would be perfect for an artist of Swift's caliber. "Given how unique Sphere is from a production perspective, fans will no doubt be foaming at the mouth to see how Taylor could potentially use the venue," the insider added. The venue is massive with 20,000 seats, but it is much smaller than the arenas Swift performed in during her Eras Tour, with stadium seating was around 70,000 to 80,000. She would, however, have no problem selling it out as the Eras Tour, which ran from March 2023 to December 2024, sold over 10 million tickets. "There's nothing like it in the world," the insider said of The Sphere. "U2 and the Backstreet Boys have already shown what's possible, but Taylor would take things to the next level." During her interview on New Heights, she told Travis and Jason that after performing in over 100 shows, she misses it but that "it feels great" that it's over. "I miss it. I do miss it, but it's like it was perfect for what it was. Do you know what I mean? And it was a lot of physical therapy, and it was a lot of being in a state of perpetual physical discomfort — kind of like when you're in season," Swift told the Kelce brothers. The insider shared that, "generally speaking, a mini Vegas run wouldn't be bad for her. Touring is exhausting, and staying in one place for a bit would be a lot easier." The Life of a Showgirl is out on Oct. 3. There is no news of a tour or residency at this time. Taylor Swift May Have Dropped Super Bowl 2026 Halftime Show Easter Egg

Originally appeared on E! Online Taylor Swift may be masterminding her very first Super Bowl halftime show performance. At least, that's what Swifties believe after picking up on several seemingly cryptic comments from the "Karma" singer's Aug. 13 appearance on her boyfriend Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast. First, there was that conversation about Taylor's love of baking, during which she quipped, "I'm really talking about bread 60 percent of the time now." Though it seemed like a surface remark about her favorite pastime, many fans think that was actually an Easter egg about the upcoming 60th Super Bowl in 2026, which will take place at the San Francisco 49ers' home turf at Levi's Stadium. And if that didn't begin to raise eyebrows, Taylor then went into detail making sourdough bread, which some theorized was a hint about the 49ers' mascot Sourdough Sam. "We're very deep into a sourdough obsession that had taken over my life," she shared during the interview, adding that Travis asked her earlier this summer to send him "two loaves of sourdough" while he was training with the Kansas City Chiefs—who defeated the 49ers at the 2019 and 2024 Super Bowls. Taylor thanking Travis' brother and co-host Jason Kelce for "screaming for 47 seconds" during her introduction on the podcast. While technically that number is a little off from the 49ers, Swifties online pointed out that her 47th stop on her Eras Tour show was at—you guessed it—Levi's Stadium. She also mentioned the number 47 when quipping that she performed in 47,000 countries during the Eras Tour. And, as Taylor even admitted on the show, she often uses numbers in her Easter eggs. "I love numerology. I love math stuff. I love dates," the 35-year-old shared. "That stuff, I find really fun." Taylor continued, "I want Easter eggs to be a certain thing, where if you are a part of the fandom and you want to experience music in a normal way, then you don't even see these. You don't even care what that thing is." But for those who do like decoding Easter eggs, she added, "For me, that's really fun because they find it fun." Jenna Jameson Shows How Little She's Changed Since Teen Years: 'This is me at 16 vs 51'

Jenna Jameson Shows How Little She's Changed Since Teen Years: 'This is me at 16 vs 51' originally appeared on Parade. Jenna Jameson is looking back on her roots. The former adult film star, 51, took to Instagram earlier this week to post a side-by-side photo of herself as a teenager and in the present day, and it was pretty clear that the TV personality and entrepreneur hasn't changed all that much. "So blessed to have made it to 51 (it's not my birthday). This is me at 16 vs 51. I'm certainly a lot older, but oddly enough… I'm gentler now," the star captioned the photo. As a teen, Jameson had the typical mega-bangs and hairspray-afflicted hair of the period, while current-day Jenna features long blonde hair that reaches her belly. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Back in March, PEOPLE reported that Jameson and her wife Jessi Lawless were getting divorced. The couple married in 2023. "She tried to rekindle the relationship multiple times but I was unwilling to entertain her advances," Lawless said in a statement to PEOPLE. "She moved around several times staying with a friend in Chicago and then with another friend in California and then she was in Las Vegas for a little while, but she was hard to keep up with so getting her served was challenging."Jameson is mom to three children with her exes, Tito Ortiz and Lior Bitton. "I try to go over in my mind why I ever dated or married men, and it's selfish and bad to say, but I think my driving force were children," Jameson previously told PEOPLE. "And now that I've really found myself, I'm just accepting of everything that I feel inside and don't shove everything down."Jenna Jameson Shows How Little She's Changed Since Teen Years: 'This is me at 16 vs 51' first appeared on Parade on Aug 15, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Aug 15, 2025, where it first appeared.
