As Boney Kapoor reportedly loses 26 kilos following a juice diet, let's recall what late wife Sridevi once told him: ‘You were slim, trim, tall and good-looking…'
'He skips dinner and has only soup. Not just that, his breakfast consists of only fruit & juice and jawar roti. He has also not hit the gym to get in this shape,' paparazzo Viral Bhayani wrote on Instagram, even as netizens hinted at the usage of weight loss drug Ozempic or Mounjaro as the reason behind the sudden transformation.
Amidst this, an older interview of him, in which he recalls how his late wife, Sridevi, had wanted him to lose weight for health reasons, has also gone viral.
In an interview with ABPLive in 2024, he said, 'The inspiration behind it was my wife because Sridevi was constantly behind me. She used to say, 'When I met you, you were slim, trim, tall, and good-looking…and now you just….see…after I got you…what more can I ask for?' For health reasons, she wanted me to lose weight…I made an attempt a couple of times by going with her to the gym, taking a walk in the evening, and all that, but they were short-lived. Maybe for 10-12 days I did what she wanted me to, but after that I had various issues…'
Taking a cue from this, let's explore how inspiration can always be helpful.
Encouraging the partner to adopt healthier habits is essential, said Dr Manjusha Agarwal, senior consultant, internal medicine, Gleneagles Hospital, Parel, Mumbai.
According to Dr Agarwal, people are more likely to make lasting changes when they feel supported, rather than judged, ridiculed, or shamed. Comparisons or ultimatums can damage self-esteem and take a toll on mental well-being. It is essential to be patient when making lifestyle-related behaviour changes. 'If your partner senses genuine care and sees you modeling a healthy lifestyle or even as a tribute to a late spouse, they're more likely to feel inspired to take steps toward their well-being,' said Dr Agarwal.
Here are some of the easiest ways to stay healthy and consistent
*Go for healthy food options such as salads or grilled, baked, or steamed dishes.
*Keep yourself physically active.
*Choose whole grains like brown rice or quinoa over refined options.
*Celebrate small wins.

"Can't Continue The Way I Used To": Popular Food Vlogger Steps Away From Long-Form YouTube Videos
Firoz Chuttipara, the face behind Kerala's popular Village Food Channel, has said that he will no longer be making long-format YouTube videos that first brought him fame. Known for his massive cooking projects, like preparing hundreds of kilos of biryani or seafood pickle, Chuttipara's unique blend of tradition, scale and social impact earned him a huge following among food lovers in India and beyond. The Palakkad native, who returned to Kerala after working abroad, turned to YouTube with a vision. It was to cook grand meals, often for underprivileged communities, and show the process from scratch. But in a recent YouTube Live session, Firoz shared that the economics of creating such large-scale content no longer add up. 'I can't continue with YouTube the way I used to,' he said, as quoted by News18. With audiences increasingly turning to shorter videos, like Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, Firoz said that the shift in viewer behaviour has made long-form content financially unsustainable for creators like him. The limited earnings from short videos are not enough to offset the significant expenses involved in sourcing ingredients and handling large-scale production. Having said that, he clarified that while long videos will now be rare, short updates will continue to appear on his channel. View this post on Instagram A post shared by VILLAGE FOOD CHANNEL (@villagefoodchannel_official) Looking ahead, Firoz has decided to channel his energy into a new business venture with a friend. Although he has kept the details under wraps, he said that the venture will be based in the UAE and will require much of his time and attention going forward. Firoz's journey, from expatriate to one of Kerala's most recognised culinary YouTubers, has been remarkable. While fans may miss the epic cooking sessions that made him famous, many remain eager to see how his next chapter unfolds, whether in business or short-form food content.
