A CBR1000RR-Swapped N600 May Be The Perfect Honda
Cars and Cameras released part one of the CBR1000RR-powered N600 build, which is nearly 44 minutes of cutting, welding, and making the big four cylinder fit behind the N600's front seats. It's sort of a Renault 5 Turbo layout, which is a far cry from the car's original front-engine, front-wheel-drive design. The first episode covers everything from rolling the N600 into the shop, all the way through to the CBR engine's first start in the new chassis. Any other YouTube channel would take months of slow-drip posts to get to that point, and for that we thank Cars and Cameras.

Despite the increases in displacement and power, the CBR engine is actually lighter than the mill that originally powered the N600 — even with a fuel tank, exhaust manifold, and wiring harness still mounted to the bike engine. All that power with less weight than an already-light stock Honda sounds like a recipe for a car that's an absolute blast to drive. Or a deathtrap. Quite possibly both.
The engine isn't really interfacing with the car much in by the end of the video — little things like "pedals" are left as an exercise for later in the build, instead relying on the bike's throttle tube — which raises some questions about how exactly the build crew plans to make that all work. Running a chain to a sprocket at the rear is reasonable enough, but converting a throttle with a return cable to a single pedal seems like a much more intricate job. Seems like we'll all have to stay tuned for the next episode to see how they pull it off.

California Is Giving Incentives For Apartments To Install EV Chargers
The ability to recharge an EV at home is an advantage that no vehicle that runs on fossil fuels can match. Yet this advantage remains elusive for many, particularly apartment or condo dwellers. California recognizes this need and has announced a $56.5-million subsidy available to multi-family homes and nearby sites to install EV chargers for residents to use. The Communities in Charge Project, with funding from the California Energy Commission Clean Transportation Program, wants to fill this as yet unanswered need with an emphasis toward disadvantaged and low-income communities. Up to $8,500 is available to site owners for every Level 2 charger they install, and up to $2,000 for Level 1 chargers. Tribal communities are eligible for additional incentives as well. The idea is to put chargers into less well-off communities that might not otherwise receive them. Although cars are more expensive than ever, EVs are shockingly cheap to lease these days, and used examples can be affordable to buy as well. Currently, unless you own your home, you will likely not be able to install your own charger. This leaves apartment and condo dwellers at the mercy of public chargers, which, while improving, are still not particularly reliable. With home prices at an all-time high, most of us will probably rent and keep our gas cars longer to avoid public charging hassles. Giving apartment renters or condo owners the ability to charge at home might be just the incentive residents need to swap their gas guzzlers for EVs. Back in the day, the federal government used to plan and fund infrastructure projects. The Interstate Highway System is a great example of what we can accomplish with proper oversight and funding. However, EV infrastructure has been left mainly to private companies, which has resulted in a piecemeal approach. Electrify America was supposed to be the gold standard, except it's not so good after all. Tesla has thrown a lot of money at Superchargers, just for itself at first, but now basically every car company can use them. With federal EV tax incentives going away, it looks like it'll remain up to individual states and businesses to work out charging infrastructure amongst themselves. Want more like this? A woman reveals how a man took the gas nozzle away while she was parked at the pump. As of this writing, the TikTok has gone viral, generating over 1.4 million views. I Was About to Put Gas In In the post, Natalya (@ films her interaction confronting a man who swiped the gas pump away while she was parked. 'I was going to put gas in,' tells the man pumping gas. Natalya was flustered by the audacity of this move, and commenters agreed. 'Where do people get this entitlement from nowadays?' one TikTok commenter questioned. 'I literally have never seen someone do this in my entire life,' another shared. 'The 'I didn't know' as she's pulled into the space?' a third replied. What Is Proper Gas Station Etiquette? 'The breakdown of social norms and decency is perhaps the worst part of this new world,' one TikTok commenter opined. What's The Dumbest Car On Sale Today?
There's a lot to consider when you're buying a new car. Does it fit in my budget? Is it practical enough for what I plan to do with it? How does it compare against other vehicles? There's one thing, though, that not enough people are considering: Is this car dumb? That idea is what has led me to today's question. I want to know what you all think is the dumbest car on sale today. Crucially, I don't want to know what you think is the worst car on sale. I already asked you that, and this question has a very different spirit. That being said, I won't sit here and tell you what your criteria for a dumb car should be. That's up to you. It can be dumb because of its size (either big or small), dumb because of its looks, dumb because of its engine or dumb because of its useless battery range. This is your world, friend. I'm just living in it. It's very obviously one of the dumbest vehicles on sale today, but that's too easy of an answer, and that's why I'm going to say the Toyota Mirai is the dumbest vehicle you can currently buy. Please keep in mind that I don't think the Mirai is the worst car you can buy, because that's also the Cybertruck, but it is still incredibly dumb. Sure, it's a nice-enough luxury sedan with good looks and a solid interior, but the fuel it runs on makes all of that a moot point. The Mirai famously runs on hydrogen, and there are exactly 51 hydrogen fueling stations in the U.S., and those are all in California. That means the car is pretty much useless anywhere that isn't California. If you want to take it on a road trip, too damn bad. You're never going to be going somewhere else that has a hydrogen fueling station. There's a reason that sales for Mirais are in the tank and they depreciate faster than you can finish this sentence. Maybe one day hydrogen will catch on and the Mirai will make sense, but today certainly isn't that day. That's why I think the Mirai is the dumbest car currently on sale.
