High school staff member accused of offering student $2,000 to kill her husband

Stephanie Demetrius, 44, was charged with conspiracy in connection to the alleged plot, CBS-affaliate WBNS reported.
On March 26, Demetrius approached a student at the Academy for Urban Scholars High School, where she was a staff member, according to court documents.

Police said Demetrius solicited the student to kill her husband for $2,000.
Court records state the student was initially paid $250 as a down payment for the job.
Police obtained a phone call between Demetrius and the student.
She allegedly told the student her husband worked from home and when her children would be out of the house.
Court records state that Demetrius told the student that 'they don't care about her neighbors' when asked if they would hear the gunfire.
She is currently being held in James A. Karnes Correction Center.

68-year-old man killed in motorcycle crash in Greene County
A man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Greene County early Thursday morning. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] State troopers from the Xenia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) responded at 1:22 a.m. to Barber Road and Riva Trace Drive in Cedarville Township on reports of a motorcycle crash, according to an OSHP spokesperson. The man has been identified as Randall Straw, 68, of Cedarville. Man critical after being shot in the face at DeKalb apartment complex
DeKalb County police responded to reports of a shooting early Thursday at 2891 Panthersville Road. A Channel 2 photographer saw about 6 patrol cars at the Decatur Lofts apartments. Police had crime scene tape strung up, and one person was in custody. A detective told Channel 2 that one man was shot in the face and is in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.
