Maruti Suzuki Fronx Introduced With Six Airbags As Standard; Prices Revised

NDTV3 days ago
Maruti Suzuki India Limited is working on making its cars safer for the Indian market. The latest one in the list to get the safety upgrade in the form of six airbags as a standard feature is the Fronx. The change has been implemented effectively immediately. With this change in place, the prices of the SUV will see an upward revision of 0.5 per cent. This comes following the availability of the feature on XL6, Baleno, Ertiga, and more.
With this update, the Fronx is now included alongside other models in the Nexa and Arena lineup, such as the Ertiga, Baleno, Alto K10, Celerio, WagonR, Eeco, Swift, Dzire, Brezza, Grand Vitara, Jimny, and Invicto, all of which now feature six airbags as a standard specification. Before the Fronx, the latest models that received this enhancement were the Ertiga, Baleno, and XL6.

This effort is in line with the government's goal to enhance road safety. Earlier, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) had declared that all new passenger vehicles would be required to have six airbags as a standard feature by October 2025. Consequently, all original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in India have started making the necessary changes to their products.
Before this, Maruti Suzuki had also announced that the Fronx had become the fastest vehicle in the country to reach 1 lakh export units. The SUV achieved the milestone within 25 months of launch. It is to be noted that the Fronx is manufactured in the brand's Gujarat facility and is exported to over 80 countries in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Japan.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx made its debut in India in April 2023. By the fiscal year 2024-25, the brand had shipped more than 69,000 units of the Fronx, making it the top exported passenger vehicle in the country during that time. In addition to the Fronx, the list of the brand's most successful export models included the Jimny, Baleno, Swift, and Dzire. During this period, the company achieved its highest annual export volume ever, exceeding 3.3 lakh units, which represents a 17.5 percent rise compared to the prior fiscal year.

Online frauds cheat investors with fake luxury goods scheme, 8 arrested

Noida: Eight members of an online fraud racket that lured people with promises of becoming millionaires were arrested on Sunday. The accused operated via Google Meet, convincing targets to invest Rs 1.5 lakh by purchasing fake luxury goods like gold, diamonds, and watches. Payments were collected during the meetings, often in dollars or bitcoins. When investors failed to make profits, they were pressured to buy more products and even offered fake loans to continue investing. Those arrested include Vidhan Dagar (27), Kaushik Dagar (31), Tapas Dhara (28), and Ganesh Bera (23), natives of West Bengal; Satish Shaw (29) of Jharkhand; Kalpesh Raju Bhai (23) of Gujarat; Gurvinder Singh (29) of Ludhiana; Gurdeep Singh (39) of Punjab. According to Greater Noida's additional DCP Sudhir Kumar, a man named Pravin Kumar Pal registered a complaint stating that he and his cousin had been duped out of a large sum of money by an online business. Acting on the complaint, Ecotech-1 police traced and arrested the accused. Ecotech-1 police station in-charge Arvind Verma said the accused worked for a Dubai-based online company, commonly known as QNET/VIHAAN, which lured people in "get-rich-quick" schemes. The company was already under investigation in Delhi, Rajasthan, and Meghalaya. Explaining the gang's modus operandi, Verma stated that the gang held webinars on Google Meet and made the targets pay Rs 1.5 lakh to join the company. The targets were sold products such as gold, diamonds, and watches, and were told to resell them for bigger profits. In most cases, the victims did not receive the products. Those who did found them to be of substandard quality. "The accused now face charges under sections 318(4) (cheating), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the BNS at the Ecotech-1 Police Station," Verma said.

Maruti Suzuki Swift vs Dzire: Mileage, Handling and Driving Comfort Compared

If you're confused between the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Dzire, you're definitely not the only one. These two cars may come from the same family, but they serve different personalities. One's zippy and compact, while the other leans more towards elegance and space. Both share similar features under the hood, but they move to a different rhythm once you're behind the wheel. So which one fits your life better? Read on to know more. Mileage: Small Numbers, Big Savings When it comes to fuel efficiency, both the Swift and Dzire deliver significant numbers. On paper, the difference feels almost invisible, especially in petrol variants. You'll rarely notice any variation at the fuel pump during everyday use. However, if you're someone who prefers CNG for its cost-effectiveness, the Dzire does take a slight lead. While the Maruti Suzuki Swift performs impressively across all options, the Dzire squeezes out slightly better numbers, which add up over time, especially for high-mileage users. Here's how things look when you break it down: ● Petrol manual: Swift gives 24.8 km/l, Dzire is at 24.79 km/l - practically the same ● Petrol AMT: Swift gets 25.75 km/l, Dzire is just behind at 25.71 km/l ● CNG variant: Swift offers 32.85 km/kg, Dzire edges ahead with 33.73 km/kg Over long distances, that slight advantage in Dzire's CNG can help reduce running costs For most buyers, both cars will feel equally efficient in petrol, but CNG users might appreciate Dzire's slight edge. Handling: One's Sharp, the Other's Smooth Now let's talk about how these cars feel when you're actually driving. The Maruti Swift is light and easy to drive. It swerves well even in dense traffic. If you like to assume control of the wheel, you will likely appreciate how responsive the wheel is. It travels faster since it is smaller, and one can zip across lanes that are congested with other cars. Parking is also very easy. It has this sense of energy to it, and that is one thing you will feel as soon as you press the pedal. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire, on the other hand, is different. It is a car that does not hurry around but flows. The suspension is set up to absorb bumps, and the longer wheelbase makes the car feel more planted on the highway. It lacks the swiftness of the Swift to amble through corners and has a smooth and stable ride, particularly when the backseat is full of passengers. The Swift is your friend in case you are a solo driver who loves being connected to the road. When your trip is usually accompanied by household members and their luggage, the Dzire adds tranquility to the travel.
