A dad who brought his family to a fairground in Edinburgh has spoken of his horror after he watched his children 'fly completely off' a ride.
Kevin McNulty, his partner Brooke, and their three children were at Galactic Carnival Festival in Wester Hailes on Saturday night. At around 7pm, the family went on the Waltzers - with the kids in one car and Kevin and Brooke just behind them.
In a horrifying clip taken by one of the children, the ride went wrong and they were 'thrown off'. Kevin said that the car collided with a large speaker, and things 'might have been a different story' if it hadn't.
According to the family, the Waltzers were stopped though the rest of the rides continued on. Kevin believes the fairground should have been shut down for an investigation, adding: "My kids are very very lucky that they managed to get out of this still walking."
Speaking with Edinburgh Live, Kevin said: "They're very shaken up and a bit sore. They're quite shocked after what's just happened, but apart from that they're actually not too bad.

"It was all quite crazy. The security guards came out quickly and said the manager would be down. There was no 'I'll go get him'.
"The manager never really spoke to us, he was more concerned about the nuts and bolts lying on the ground. I heard him say to his staff, 'get them off the ground before they take pictures'.
"They ushered us away, saying they would walk us up to the main office.

"My daughter heard somebody say, oh, give them an ice pack. Then he came back and I was like, where's the ice pack?
"They said 'oh we didn't have an ice pack'. We walked up to the main reception and a woman came out who was then apparently the manager."
Kevin and his family claim they were then offered a refund, before he took the children to A&E.
He continued: "They said they would take our wristbands off and said 'do you want a refund'. I thought, yeah, of course.

"We just wanted out. We didn't want to be there after what happened.
"We took the kids to A&E to get them checked for.
"The fact that they just kept running as if nothing had happened is pretty shocking. They tried to clean up the nuts and bolts mess, and tried to clean up all the evidence, by the time the police got there but we had already taken pictures and we had the video."
The organisers of Galactic Carnival Festival have been approached for comment.

'We're Learning A Lot About People, Ain't We?' Kevin Hart Roasts Diddy And Kanye At BET Awards
Ever one to put himself in the firing line, Kevin Hart used his hosting gig at the 2025 BET Awards to roast two of the most controversial figures in the music industry – Sean 'Diddy' Combs, who is currently on trial for sex trafficking and racketeering charges, and Kanye West, who has taken to X in recent months to spew racist and antisemitic hatred. Diddy denies all allegations and has pleaded not guilty in court. This, it seems, is fertile ground for a comedy monologue. On Monday night at the Peacock Theatre in LA, Kevin alluded to Diddy's ongoing trial and his alleged 'freak off' parties by telling the audience there would be no afterparties where 'sh** gets slippery'. 'I'm shutting down the idea of afterparties,' he told the crowd. 'No afterparties tonight. None. Take your asses home after this. That's why I did it on Monday. People gotta go to work tomorrow.' Diddy's alleged afterparties have been a key subject during his trial, with his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, the former escort Daniel Phillip and several former assistants all testifying about their involvement in Diddy's infamous after parties. 'That's where sh** gets slippery at them goddamn afterparties,' Kevin joked. 'We're learning a lot about people, ain't we? We're learning a lot...' Kevin was hosting the BET Awards, which honour achievements across filmmaking, music and television, in front of a medley of celebrity guests including Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey and Kendrick Lamar. Another famous face who was not in attendance, but still got a mention in Kevin's speech was Kanye. Pretending to receive a message, the comedian said, 'Oh sh**, it's Kanye. Yep, he says he's out front, he's waiting for somebody to invite him in. We all saw Sinners , don't let his ass in here, so he could fight somebody, so he can fight Playboi Carti again, okay? Nobody let Kanye in, no! Not tonight!' This was seemingly a reference to the commotion Kanye and his wife Bianca Censori made on the Grammy's red carpet earlier this year. They were not expected to make an appearance at the awards show before they arrived. Kanye then stood fully clothed while giving directives to Bianca, who dropped her fur coat to reveal her almost entirely naked body in front of the cameras. Continuing to go through the award show house rules, Kevin then referenced the viral video of rapper Cardi B and her boyfriend, Stefon Diggs, partying on a yacht where he handed out a bag containing a mystery pink substance. 'No yachts, no boats,' Kevin joked. 'Cardi B, no pink stuff. What the f***, none of that stuff.' However, unlike Diddy and Kanye, Cardi B was in attendance at the ceremony and later received an honour for her work in hip hop. As Kevin put it, 'The women in hip hop are doing such amazing – I told you guys it's a matter of giving flowers, so I wanna make sure I celebrate this correctly. Shouts out to Cardi B, shouts out to Meg Thee Stallion. Shouts out to Latto, Doechii, just to name a few. You guys are all doing amazing things.' Twisters star Glen Powell was captured filming scenes for sci-fi film Ghostwriter. As reported by Edinburgh Live, the footage was filmed on Candlemaker Row in the capital after a number of streets across the capital were transformed into a film set. The movie, which is due for release in 2026, is also set to feature Wednesday star Jenny Ortega, Sex Education's Emma Mackey and Pulp Fiction actor Samuel L. Jackson. The clip shows Powell in a cream and green coat as he prepares to film the scene. He starts to jump up and down before pacing up the street for the apparent scene. Blue lights are flashing above him and security guards are present too. Pam, who witnessed the scene unfold, said: "When we travelled to Edinburgh we didn't expect to see a part of Hollywood. We were excited to see the beautiful cobblestone streets in the city and just stumbled across the set. "We returned the next day to enjoy walking the same street, and we look forward to seeing it someday on film and knowing we were there." Tourists were left shocked at the sight and couldn't believe their eyes. In the background of the video, one person said: "That is him, oh my gosh that is him. That is Glen Powell." Another added: "I can't believe we just saw Glen Powell". Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today.
