British-American actress Minnie Driver marks Independence Day with sweet pregnancy throwback snaps

Daily Mail04-07-2025
Minnie Driver marked Independence Day on Friday with a series of patriotic throwback snaps.
The British-American actress, 55, notably began the montage with a snap of herself pregnant and her bump painted in the stars and stripes.
Celebrating America's love of fast food on another 4th of July gone by, Minnie - who shares son Henry, 16, with ex-partner producer Timothy J. Lea - revealed that she even made a sweet cake in the shape of a burger.
Other snaps saw her in a stars and stripes golf buggy and with Henry as he held a first-place medal won in a watermelon seed spitting competition.
She wrote: 'Celebrating the spirit of independence - from pregnant belly decorations, to our annual golf cart parade in Malibu, to the cake I made in the shape of a burger, to Henry winning the watermelon seed spittin' competition.
'To me standing eating watermelon rather than spitting the seeds, to my old, patriotic boy who loved this day, mainly because people were drunk and dropped their hotdogs.'
Minnie's reflective post comes after she recently joked about getting a facelift after candidly opening up about being middle-aged in Hollywood.
'Guys,' she said in a perfect deadpan in a new video she posted to her Instagram page in December: 'are we all getting new faces for Christmas?'
The Good Will Hunting actress continued: 'Cause where you getting them from? And do you think they're gonna run out? And has anyone got a discount code?'
She threw another joke into the caption, writing: 'Quite hard to put under the tree. #newface #faceshop #discountcodes.'
Shortly before, the actress shared a makeup-free selfie to her Instagram page.
Allowing the camera to get a close view of her features, she used the caption to share the secret to her own luminous complexion.
Her radiant appearance was the work of Keren Bartov, an Israeli aesthetician whose clients have included Gal Gadot, Demi Moore, Kim Kardashian and Julia Roberts.
Minnie wrote alongside the selfie: 'Ok, I'm pretty vain, so posting pictures without a scrap of makeup and un-touched up, are rare.'
She added: 'The only reason I'm doing it now is because I've been ill with flu and have felt every one of my years recently, and I'm pretty astonished that my friend Keren can make me look like this: Christmas glow without the 5 mulled wines.'
Earlier this year, Minnie reflected on how the Hollywood climate has changed in terms of offering opportunities to women in middle age.
'We're allowed to be over 40 now. It is different,' she told People during a panel discussion that was held over the summer.
'I don't know what that was done waking up to the idea that women are really just hitting their stride when they've, I think been through the gauntlet of only being seen sexually,' the The Phantom Of The Opera actress shared.
Now, she said, roles for women are able to embrace the 'extraordinary expansiveness that comes with getting older,' including but not limited to motherhood. 'I watched a film the other night that I really wanted to be in and I am so glad I'm not in that bloody film,' Minnie candidly confessed.

Conservatives celebrate 'vibe shift' to the right as surprising merchandise pops up in Blue city's main airport

Conservatives are celebrating what they call a 'vibe shift' to the right after surprising images revealed MAGA merchandise for sale inside Los Angeles International Airport - in one of the bluest cities in America. The viral photo shared Friday pictured the inside of a store called AMERICA!, revealing shelves stocked with Trump-branded pens, dolls, mints, masks and other pro-MAGA Donald Trump gear. 'Spotted at LAX,' Elizabeth Barcohana shared on X alongside a photo of a MAGA T-shirt display in the shop. ' California Vibe Shift Right is real.' While AMERICA! isn't officially a 'Trump store,' LAX describes the retailer as a store having a 25-year track record specializing in 'local pride, pop culture, and current events' with an emphasis on all things Americana. 'The dynamic, constantly evolving assortment of carefully curated merchandise reflects ever-changing American trends in the market, the local experience, pop culture, politics and current events,' the store description states on LAX's website. 'By design, each AMERICA! store engages visitors by conveying a regional sense of place, set against a contemporary patriotic backdrop.' Another user, known as unapologeticcrystal, posted a video of the store on TikTok saying: 'You know California has changed when youre at LAX and there's an entire store dedicated to Trump.' The footage quickly went viral social media, with many users praising the display. 'That's so awesome to see,' one wrote. 'MAGA is more than a slogan to those of us who saw the previous administration send billions of dollars to foreign countries while abandoning Americans in Western North Carolina. MAGA just means: America before anyone else. Period.' Another commenter wrote: 'MAGA is the new way we live. We embrace everything that we love about America under the greatest president who has cared about our country in Donald J. Trump. We are taking back California.' A third simply said: 'I never see any representation. This is nice.' 'So in one of the most liberal cities in the country. They have a Trump store, but I'm supposed to believe the election is close,' another added. Despite its reputation as a liberal stronghold, Trump and the Republicans picked up substantial gains in November's general election. Large swathes of California voted for him in areas far away from coastal cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco. Back in January, sources revealed that Trump was convinced the devastating California wildfires would help him turn the traditionally left-wing state Republican. One legal source close to the President told the Mail at the time: 'Donald sees this as an opportunity to turn California Republican red. 'This is a state which has the fifth largest economy in the world and it should be thriving. Instead, the liberals have destroyed it with their woke policies. Crime is rising, the streets are filthy, homelessness is everywhere.' 'During the last election people in California were already hearing Donald's message and voting for him.' Conservatives are celebrating what they call a 'vibe shift' to the right after surprising images emerged showing MAGA merchandise for sale inside Los Angeles International Airport - one of the bluest cities in America 'It's still one of the most liberal states in the US, but this total screw-up with the wildfires, the fact that the fire hydrants didn't have enough water, the fact that Democrats constantly cut the fire budget, the fact that none of the vital forest and wild land clearance work has been done – all this supports Donald's message that the Dems have screwed it up badly.' 'His message to ordinary Californians is that these wildfires are the final straw. Make the change and vote Republican and watch California come roaring back to prosperity.'

Josh Duhamel makes rare comment on son, 11, with Fergie as he reveals the pre-teen's camp crush

Josh Duhamel is preparing to be the dad of a pre-teen. The Ransom Canyon star, 52, who abandoned Hollywood for a simpler life in Minnesota, made a rare comment about his son Axl, explaining he has already gotten a taste of what's to come after the boy's trip to summer camp. He shares Axl, who will turn 12 later this month, with his ex-wife Fergie, 50. 'I have an 11-year-old who just went to camp in Minnesota and met a girl he really likes.' the Las Vegas star told People. 'He really wants to see this girl again from camp,' the Love, Victor star explained. 'I'm like, "Dude! You're not even 12." So, that's going to be parent-supervised.' 'Having a son with a crush is a new one for me, as a parent, anyway. But I get it, I've been there,' the leading man said. 'I have an 18-month-old baby who is still pooping his pants, and I just hope it doesn't inverse. I hope that the 11-year-old doesn't poop his pants on his first date. That would be terrible,' he said teasingly. Duhamel shares his youngest son Shepherd, with his wife Audra Mari, 31. The actor made the comments while promoting his collaboration with Car Gurus for their new video series The Big Deal Show. Duhamel was a car guy even before starring in the Transformers franchise. 'I think that it's such a personal thing to own a car, and especially your first car — what that means and all the memories that come with that,' he told the outlet. The doting dad seems to be looking forward to and dreading the day Axl can get behind the wheel. 'I'm already kind of training him. I'll put him in my lap and teach him, 'Okay, this is what you do, and this is what you look for, this is what you've got to scan,' just to start getting him accustomed to what it takes to actually handle the responsibility of being a driver,' he said. 'I want to get that in his head as soon as possible.' While in London for his upcoming project Preschool earlier this year, Duhamel took Axl, who loves to play soccer to see one of his favorite teams and got him a team jersey. 'Took my boy to an @arsenal game in North London this weekend' he shared. Duhamel's next film, London Calling, will open in theaters September 19. He plays a down on his luck hitman, who flees the UK and must teach his new boss' son to be a man.

Jamie Dornan flaunts his ripped physique in silver trunks as he strips off for sizzling new Diet Coke 'This Is My Taste' campaign

put his sculpted physique on full display as he stripped down for Diet Coke's sizzling new 'This Is My Taste' campaign, launched on Sunday. The Fifty Shades Of Grey star, 43, flaunted his toned torso in a pair of silver swimming trunks as he sipped from an ice-cold can of Diet Coke. In the cheeky new advert, Jamie reveals that the average Diet Coke break lasts eight minutes, which is 'eight minutes back for embracing our unique tastes'. He then dives straight into open water wearing nothing but his signature silver This Is My Taste trunks. During his chilly dip, Jamie highlights the many ways people can enjoy an eight-minute break to explore and embrace their personal interests. Along the way, he crosses paths with an eccentric birdwatcher, a radio-controlled boat, a lively brass band and a determined paddleboarder, tapping into one of the UK's fastest-growing water sports. Following his debut as the new face of Diet Coke last year, building on the brand's legacy of partnering with some of the world's leading talent, Jamie returns to screens to champion individuality and self-expression. Revealing his love for the popular trend of cold-water swimming, Jamie aims to encourage others to feel empowered to boldly express their tastes too. Tara Byrnes, Diet Coke GB&I Senior Brand Manager, said: 'Jamie Dornan's authentic passion for cold-water swimming makes him the perfect fit for the next chapter of Diet Coke's This Is My Taste. 'He inspires others to embrace what they love. We're inviting fans to take a break, and celebrate their unique tastes through the brand new in-app can personalisation tool – visit the Coke app to create yours today.' Diet Coke's latest campaign aims to encourage fans to boldly express their unique tastes and own their Diet Coke break, however they choose to take it. As part of the launch, Diet Coke is inviting fans to design their own virtual can that reflects their personal style via the Coke app, showcasing their personal taste. The new Diet Coke campaign comes after Jamie's wife Amelia Warner gave a rare insight into the couple's private family life together. The 50 Shades of Grey star and the musician, 43, have been married since 2013 and are parents to daughters Dulcie, 11, Elva, nine and five-year-old Alberta. Speaking to Daily Mail, Amelia said how she believes at least one of their children will follow in their parents' footsteps and get into show business. 'I think the chances are high,' she said. 'I think that one of them will end up doing something in the industry, who knows? 'They're still quite young, and I think at that age they're still forming, but I think definitely at least one [of them will], I don't know what they'll do. I don't know what field.' Gushing about Jamie, she added: 'I think anyone that meets him thinks that [he is humble]. He's just very humble, funny, down-to-earth and a great guy. Many people forget very quickly.' 'I'm open to everything. I also think having daughters, there's that extra [pressure]. I'm quite conscious of trying not to present anything to them that I wouldn't normally do, or that's not natural,' she said. It comes after Jamie made a very cheeky revelation about his sex life while talking to Nick Grimshaw at a Diet Coke event late last year. The Irish actor took on the role of an ambassador for the drinks brand, with the campaign encouraging fans to proudly take ownership of their unique tastes, personal interests, and own their Diet Coke break moment. And as host Nick asked The Fifty Shades star to reveal his 'optimum Diet Coke moment', Jamie appeared to hint at a cheeky response. Agreeing with the radio host that a Diet Coke on holiday is the best, he then added: 'Or in the morning after a sport,' he said in a playful manner to much laughter. Jamie - who's been married to composer Amelia Warner for 11 years - continued: 'It is quite nice after that,' as the audience chuckled. 'I'm also a golfer, so a nice one after golf.'
