A dog kennel in Norfolk is hosting a new event in the hopes of encouraging visitors to match with a four-legged friend.
Dogs Trust Snetterton is hosting its first Nose about Day, allowing dog lovers to enquire about all things pooches.
The charity will be hosting two activities, a behind-the-scenes tour and a snuffle-making workshop.
Those interested must pre-book.

Visitors will be shown the training barn, paddock, playground and kitchen to help give people an idea of "what it's really like" for the dogs in need of a forever home.
The event is being held at the charity's kennel in North End Road, Snetterton on May 17 from 11am-2pm.
Complimentary hot drinks and biscuits will be included.
Here are just three of the dogs looking for a new family.
Milo has a passion for training and with the right support will be muzzle trained in no time. (Image: Dogs Trust) Two-year-old Milo is described as "lovable" and "affectionate" by Dogs Trust.
Although a "cheeky chap", he sometimes lacks confidence so will need to be kept on a lead and muzzled on his walks.
Milo enjoys meeting other dogs on his adventures but would prefer a quiet, adult-only home where he can put his paws up.
Rocky will require further training to help him feel at ease around his canine companions. (Image: Dogs Trust) The one and a half year old French Bulldog cross is looking for a family who will help him grow in confidence.
Rocky is an affectionate boy who enjoys a cuddle but also loves exploring on walks.
He will need to be the only pet in the home. As he struggles to be left alone, his new family will need to be on hand as he adjusts to his surroundings.
Brock is happy to wear his muzzle when out in public. (Image: Dogs Trust)
Brock is a six-year-old Huntaway cross who adores people and never shies away from fuss.
He would like to be the only dog in the home but has the potential to live with children from primary school age and older who are used to excitable dogs.
When on walks, Brock will have to be kept on a lead and muzzled as he is unsure of other dogs.

Dog's 'Soulmate' Dies—What She Does Next Breaks Owner's Heart

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Animal lovers' hearts have broken after seeing how a dog reacted after losing her beloved sibling. Mariah, who posts to TikTok under the username @mariahandgigi, is the owner of Belgian Malinois mix Gigi, and until recently, also had Shih Tzu, Rocky. Mariah lost senior dog Rocky late in 2024 at age 12, having had him since childhood, and regularly posts videos of him in remembrance—playing, napping, on walks, and playing with his sister, Gigi. One video, shared May 11, racked up more than half a million views as viewers' hearts broke at what it showed. At first, the clip showed Rocky and Gigi hanging out together, Gigi relaxing and lying quietly, while Rocky posed on his back and wiggled around, kicking his legs, and a second short clip taken at a different time showed the two dogs in the same position. But the two final videos showed Gigi, this time on her own, Rocky having passed on. And she lies on her back, rolling and wiggling around, her legs in the air—just like Rocky used to do. Mariah wrote over the video: "Soulmated so hard your sister absorbed your little quirks as soon as you left," and added in the caption: "We miss our boy." TikTok users flocked to the video, one writing: "This one's for you, man," and another suggesting Gigi "probably was coping too." "Someone has to carry on the tradition," another said, as one emotional viewer admitted: "I am sobbing. How absolutely beautiful, their unconditional love is never gone, just a little bit further away till you and your baby reunite again." And as one wrote: "She wanted to make sure you knew he was still there being silly." Gigi and Rocky the Shih Tzu, rolling on his back. Gigi and Rocky the Shih Tzu, rolling on his back. TikTok @mariahandgigi Dogs can have many reactions to another pet in the household dying, and could become clingy, anxious or even depressed, according to Dogs Trust. Owners can help their surviving pet by keeping a close eye on their pet to see how they are coping, including by a pet camera while they're alone in the house. Take time before removing reminders of the other animal—such as beds and blankets—and don't rush into getting another dog. Going on plenty of walks and sticking to the dog's normal routine can all assist in helping your dog cope with a loss. Newsweek has contacted @mariahandgigi via TikTok for comment on this story. 49ers' Kyle Shanahan has message to $265 million man Brock Purdy

The post 49ers' Kyle Shanahan has message to $265 million man Brock Purdy appeared first on ClutchPoints. As the San Francisco 49ers locked up Brock Purdy to a sizable $265 million contract extension, there is no doubt that there is a lot of pressure that comes with it. After the 49ers' failures last season, the team will need to lean on Purdy to boost the offense, as head coach Kyle Shanahan has a message for his quarterback. Advertisement Fans had been wondering when both sides would agree so they could focus on the season ahead rather than the intricacies of a contract extension. Shanahan would say to the media that he wants Purdy to do what he has been doing since emerging as a productive player, which is being the team's leader, according to NBC Sports. 'I want him to be the leader he's always been,' Shanahan said. 'There's no worse thing to do than ask people to do something extra just because they're a contract. You know, that's when you start making stuff up. Brock's earned his contract, and he's going to earn what he gets going forward.' Shanahan would also talk about what he said to him regarding the new extension, though there wasn't much talk between them about it. 'When I see him in person, it's not something we think about,' he said. 'It was just that day, it was congratulations and you know, Brock, he's been the same since day one and I think that's, you like to say that about a lot of people and we're never lying up here or anything, but Brock is as much like that as not any football player I've met, but any person I've met.' 49ers' Brock Purdy is being more vocal after contract extension Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images While Purdy celebrates the contract extension, the job now is to bring the team back to relevance after a frustrating 2024 campaign, which was a season removed from making the Super Bowl. One player who's noticed a more vocal Purdy is teammate and star tight end George Kittle, according to 49ers Webzone. Advertisement 'One thing I've already seen from Brock this offseason, just being back around for all of [the offseason program] and stuff, is just his voice is heard significantly more in the building, which I love, whether he's breaking down the team, talking in the locker room,' Kittle said. 'He's always kind, he's always nice to everybody, but he's just more vocal to everybody in team settings, which is huge.' At any rate, San Francisco looks to improve after a 6-11 2024, which put them last in the NFC West as they open the upcoming season against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Sept. 7.

James Beard Award-Winning Southern Chef Sean Brock Is Opening a Restaurant in West Hollywood

One of South Carolina's most celebrated chefs will open his first Los Angeles restaurant in West Hollywood later this summer. Sean Brock, best known for his Southern restaurants in Charleston and Nashville, will introduce Darling, a new restaurant featuring seasonal ingredients prepared over a live-fire grill in the former Soulmate space on Robertson Boulevard. The Charleston-based chef will also introduce Bar Darling, an adjoining cocktail bar that will serve cocktails while vinyls play over a hi-fi sound system. As one of the South's most notable chefs, Brock is a high-profile figure dedicated to showcasing Southern Cuisine. He grew up in Virginia's Appalachian mountains before finishing culinary school and becoming executive chef at Charleston, South Carolina's Husk from 2010 until 2018; he then became a partner at McCrady's Restaurant. Brock won the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef Southeast in 2010, and became a New York Times bestseller with his first cookbook Heritage , which also garnered a James Beard Award. After opening (and stepping away from) multiple Husk locations throughout the South, Brock opened Atlanta's Minero in 2015, then debuted Joyland in 2020. Joyland was his first solo restaurant, followed by a stream of openings, including a duo of Nashville restaurants centered around Appalachian food. Brock joins a handful of recent non-California-based chefs bringing their experience to Los Angeles, including the Jamaican-born Adrian Forte for Lucia in Fairfax, and chef Eyal Shani's Miznon. Darling will open in July or August across the street from Lisa Vanderpump's Sur and the trendy spinoff from Vanderpump Rules reality TV stars' sandwich shop, Something About Her.
