The war on ICE and immigration may be taking its toll on Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani, who wants answers.
Confused, he asked his interpreter why people were running away carrying big screen TVs, laptops and cases of Slim Jims?
All he got was, 'Wakaranai.'
Or, 'I don't know.' Which is my response to today's pick.

The Athletic gives Sixers a middle of the road ranking for offseason
The 2025 offseason for the Philadelphia 76ers was more so about getting younger and adding more depth. The Sixers spent a lot of money in 2024 with the addition of Paul George and a slew of others so that limited their offseason moves in 2025. President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey and his staff have focused on making sure the team got younger and more versatile. The Sixers accomplished both with the additions of VJ Edgecombe, Trendon Watford, Johni Broome, Jabari Walker, and Dominick Barlow. All four are young and versatile enough to do a number of different things on the floor. The Athletic ranked every team's offseason and the Sixers come in ranked No. 16 among the 30 teams: You can definitely see a post-Embiid skeleton coming into shape in Philly, with McCain, Maxey and Edgecombe becoming a potentially wildly fun trio in the coming years. For now, Philly still holds out hope that the 31-year-Embiid can finally recover after getting shut down the last seven weeks of the regular season to have his meniscus repaired. But that's a hope that has fallen on deaf ears in the Philadelphia fan base, who've increasingly tuned the 76ers out. It's hard to see Philly going past next season with the big man as its lodestar if he can't show definitively that he can again handle the load of 60-plus games and get to the playoffs healthy. To David Aldridge's point, the Sixers have begun to change things up a bit. They are beginning to move forward with a new style and having different players on the roster so it will be interesting to see what the Sixers will do moving forward concerning the Joel Embiid era.

6-foot-9, 24-year NHL veteran completes sub-five-hour ironman
6-foot-9, 24-year NHL veteran completes sub-five-hour ironman originally appeared on The Sporting News An Ironman triathlon might just be one of the most impressive feats a human can say they've done. Many do it to prove to themselves they're capable of doing what's viewed as impossible to some. One former NHL player's hobby recently seems to be completing Ironmans. What former NHL player ran a sub-five-hour Ironman? An Ironman is basically a triathlon (Swimming, biking and running) but with extreme volume that forces humans to endure pain like they've never felt before. The distances can vary. Former NHL player Zdeno Chara just completed a sub-five-hour Ironman that consisted of 1.2 miles of swimming, 56 miles of biking and 13.1 miles of running. He finished with a time of 4:56:47. For a player who played 24 long seasons in the NHL, consisting of 1,680 games, you'd think he'd want to enjoy retirement once he called it a career. Chara has done the opposite. Chara stated in the past, 'My athletic journey post-hockey naturally gravitated toward endurance sports' (Runner's World). At age 48, Chara is getting every bit out of his body that he has left, and is doing it with a smile on his face, even after logging 39,485 minutes on the ice in his career. He stands at an increible height of 6-9 for an NHL player, tied with Rangers' Matt Rempe for the tallest player to ever play in the NHL. Chara was a seven-time all-star, a Stanley Cup Champion and most importantly, a Hall of Famer. He recorded 680 points in his career, with 209 goals and 471 assists. No signs are pointing towards Chara ending his post-NHL racing hobby just yet, so we should expect to see more impressive endurance feats from Chara in the next couple of years.

2017 USC-Penn State Rose Bowl is one of best games of 21st century
Recently, we wrote about how 2005 USC played in two of the best college football games of the 21st century. However, those are not the only instant classics the Trojans have played in. The same story by The Athletic also ranked USC's 2017 Rose Bowl victory over Penn State at No. 20 on the list. Here is what writer David Ubben had to say about the game: "USC led by two touchdowns on three separate occasions in the first half. Then Penn State surged in the third quarter, leading by two touchdowns twice, highlighted by a 79-yard touchdown run from Saquon Barkley and a 72-yard tipped catch touchdown by Chris Godwin. Sam Darnold, Juju Smith-Schuster and the Trojans rallied, outscoring Penn State 17-0 in the fourth quarter, mounting touchdown drives of 83 and 80 yards. Leon McQuay III picked off Penn State QB Trace McSorley with 27 seconds left and returned it 32 yards to set up a game-winning 46-yard field goal from Matt Boermeester at the gun." The 52-49 thriller capped off a nine-game winning streak to end the season for the Trojans, and is arguably the program's high point of the post-Pete Carroll era to date. After playing in Pasadena five times in six years between 2004 and 2009, to date this is USC's only appearance in the Grandaddy of Them All since. Lincoln Riley is currently looking to return the Trojans to national prominence and have them playing in games like this on a regular basis.
