2025 KPMG Women's PGA prize money payouts for each player at Fields Ranch East
Minjee Lee became the third Australian to win three major championships – joining Karrie Webb and Jan Stephenson – when she overcame demanding conditions at Fields Ranch East to win the 2025 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. The Aussie now owns 11 LPGA titles, including three different majors. It marked her first victory since the fall of 2023.
Lee's resurgence of late can be traced back to a major equipment change when she put the long putter in play at the start of the 2023 season. Her strokes gained putting rank improved from 137th in 2024 to fifth in 2025.
Earlier in the week tournament officials announced a purse increase to $12 million, matching the U.S. Women's Open for the highest prize fund on tour. For perspective, just four years ago the KPMG purse was $4.5 million.
Lee earned $1.8 million for her victory. At the 2022 U.S. Women's Open, she earned the biggest paycheck in women's golf history to date when she earned $1.8 million. (Later that same season, the winner of CME Group Tour Championship in November earned $2 million.)
For Auston Kim, a tie for second gave her the biggest paycheck of her young career at $944,867. Prior to that, her biggest paycheck was $205,279 for a third place at the 2024 Lotte Championship.

With Optus 5G access and 50% off, Aussie Broadband's SIM-only mobile deals might be the best I've seen this EOFY
With less than a week left in the EOFY 2025 sales, now's the time to lock-in an awesome deal that will keep the savings going with your mobile plan until the end of the calendar year. We've already seen some excellent EOFY telco deals throughout the month of June, but this offer from Aussie Broadband might be the best one we've seen so far. If you were under the impression that Aussie Broadband was solely an internet provider, think again — the trusted telecommunications company has been offering SIM-only mobile plans since 2021, but has gotten more competitive with its pricing in the last few months. Now the telco is doubling down on its strategy for EOFY, offering new customers a 50% discount for their first 6 months on selected Aussie Broadband prepaid plans when they apply the code DEALMOB at checkout. After those initial 6 months are up, the plans will go back to full price for as long as you stay connected. In other words, plans that usually range in price from AU$35 p/m to AU$70 p/m will now range from AU$17.50 p/m to AU$30 p/m. When you consider that these plans offer from 40GB to 220GB of monthly data on the Optus 5G network, that's incredible value for money. Aussie Broadband | Save 50% p/m for the first 6 months with code 'DEALMOB' on select plans New Aussie Broadband customers can snag a fantastic EOFY deal: 50% off selected mobile plans for the first 6 months. Just use the code DEALMOB to unlock this discount on four of Aussie's prepaid plans, all of which offer Optus 5G network access. Here's what you're looking at in terms of monthly data and price: • Value 5G SIM Plan (40GB p/m) — AU$17.50 p/m for the first 6 months, then AU$35 p/m ongoing• Essential 5G SIM Plan (100GB p/m) — AU$25 p/m for the first 6 months, then AU$50 p/m ongoing• Premium 5G SIM Plan (120GB p/m ) — AU$30 p/m for the first 6 months, then AU$60 p/m ongoing• Elite 5G SIM Plan (220GB p/m ) — AU$35p/m for the first 6 months, then AU$70 p/m ongoing As you can see, all of these deals are exceptional from a value standpoint. However, I would personally opt for either the Premium 5G SIM Plan or the Elite 5G SIM Plan, as these plans not only offer stacks of data, they also offer full speed access to the Optus 5G Network, while the other two plans have their download speeds capped at 150Mbps. Of course, you'll have to hurry if you want to take advantage of this deal, as the offer will expire on June 30, 2025.

Hull cards lowest second round at PGA Championship
Charley Hull has two career wins on the LPGA Tour [Getty Images] Women's PGA Championship first-round leaderboard: -6 J Thitikul (Tha); -3 M Lee (Aus), R Takeda (Jpn); -2 L Thompson (US); -1 C Iwai (Jpn), A Kim (US), S Lee (Kor) Selected others: +2 N Korda (US), L Maguire (Ire); +3 C Hull (Eng); +4 L Ko (NZ) Advertisement Leaderboard England's Charley Hull carded the lowest second-round score at the Women's PGA Championship as Thailand's Jeeno Thitikul extended her lead at the top of the leaderboard. Hull carded a three-under-par 69, which included four birdies and a bogey, in the only round under 70 on a day when only 14 players broke par in hot and windy conditions at the Fields Ranch East course in Texas. The 29-year-old shot 78 in her opening round and is on three over for the tournament, with leader Thitikul on six under. World number two Thitikul has yet to win a major but put herself in a promising position after a two-under par round of 70, which included four birdies and two bogeys. Advertisement Thitikul said the "wind and the rough" provided the toughest challenges during the second round. She added: "I had better tee shots than yesterday and put myself in the positions that I have a chance. "If not, I just tried to make par. I think par, it's a really big key here - no birdies but 18 pars, you take it." Thitikul's nearest challengers are Japan's Rio Takeda, who shot a 71, and Australian Minjee Lee, who went round in 72, with both players on three under par. American Lexi Thompson is on two under following a 70. "[It] got pretty windy even for the morning," said Thompson. "It was blowing more than it did yesterday, so I knew I just had to commit to my lines out there. Advertisement "It's a tough golf course, especially when the wind blows. If you miss the fairways you just have to take your medicine, pitch out, and try to save par any way you can, make the worst score a bogey." World number one Nelly Korda could only manage a 74, which included two birdies and four bogeys, and the American is on two over par, while Ireland's Leona Maguire is on the same score after also carding a 74. South Korea's Amy Yang won the tournament last year but, after rounds of 76 and 77, missed the cut on nine over par.

Rio Tinto and Hancock Prospecting to invest $1.6 billion to develop the Hope Downs 2 project in Western Australia's Pilbara
PERTH, Australia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rio Tinto and Hancock Prospecting will invest $1.6 1 billion (Rio Tinto share $0.8 billion) to develop the Hope Downs 2 iron ore project in Western Australia's Pilbara region. The Hope Downs 2 project, to mine Rio Tinto and Hancock Prospecting's Hope Downs 2 and Bedded Hilltop deposits, has now received all necessary State and Federal Government approvals. The two new above-water-table iron ore pits will have a combined total annual production capacity of 31 million tonnes and will sustain production from the Hope Downs Joint Venture into the future. Rio Tinto Iron Ore Chief Executive Simon Trott said: 'Approval of Hope Downs 2 is a key milestone for Rio Tinto, as we invest in the next generation of iron ore mines in the Pilbara. 'These projects are part of our strategy to continue investing in Australian iron ore and to sustain Pilbara production for decades to come, supporting jobs, local businesses and the state and national economies. 'The Pilbara has been critical to global steel supply for more than 60 years, and we are committed to ensuring it remains so well into the future.' Rio Tinto has engaged with the Nyiyaparli, Banjima and the Ngarlawangga Peoples, along with relevant government stakeholders, to ensure the responsible management of heritage and the environment in development of the project. The project includes new non-process infrastructure precincts, railway crossings and haul roads, as well as realigning a 6-kilometre section of the Great Northern Highway. Ore mined at the two sites will be transported to Hope Downs 1 for processing, with first ore from the deposits and associated infrastructure scheduled for 2027. More than 950 jobs will be created during construction and, once operational, the Hope Downs 2 project will help sustain a workforce of about 1000 full time equivalent roles at Greater Hope Downs. Hope Downs 2 is part of Rio Tinto's tranche of replacement projects that underpin the company's ongoing commitment to the Pilbara, and which will have combined total capacity of about 130Mtpa 2. During the next three years (2025-2027), Rio Tinto expects to invest more than $13 billion on new mines, plant and equipment. The company has a clear pathway to achieve and sustain mid-term system capacity of 345 to 360Mtpa from its Pilbara iron ore business, with a pre-feasibility study also underway on the Rhodes Ridge project, the Pilbara's best undeveloped iron ore deposit. Additional information Rio Tinto and Hancock Prospecting are equal partners in the Hope Downs Joint Venture. The Joint Venture was originally established in 2006, with Rio Tinto and Hancock Prospecting's shared history extending back to the early 1960's. Hope Downs 1 started production in 2007, followed by Hope Downs 4, with first ore in 2013. Footnotes 1 All currency figures are in US dollars and on a 100 per cent basis, unless otherwise specified. The capital for the project is already included in the Group's replacement capital guidance. 2 Subject to timing of full capacity. The replacement projects include Western Range which, as previously announced, was opened on 6 June 2025, Brockman Syncline 1, as announced on 6 March 2025, Hope Downs 2, West Angelas and Greater Nammuldi.
