NBA playoffs odds, lines, betting: Oklahoma City Thunder one win away from NBA Finals

Yahoo27-05-2025
The 2025 NBA playoffs are in full swing, and the conference finals are underway.
The Oklahoma City Thunder (-375) are now the prohibitive title favorites at BetMGM, followed by the Indiana Pacers (+550), New York Knicks (10-1) and Minnesota Timberwolves (40-1). The Thunder responded to a Game 3 blowout by making several big shots down the stretch in a 128-126 Game 4 win over the Wolves to take a 3-1 series lead.
In the East, the Knicks entered as -155 series favorites, which is only the second time in the past 50 years that the franchise has been favored in a conference finals series. The Pacers, however, won both games at Madison Square Garden to take a 2-0 series lead, before the Knicks held on to win Game 3.
Whereas public betting may waver at times during the NBA season because of all the injuries and load management, the playoffs are a big betting event, Thomas Gable, sportsbook director at the Borgata in Atlantic City — a BetMGM book — told Yahoo Sports.
"From a betting perspective, the handle is very good," Gable said. "The NBA suffers from the way that they handle the day-to-day season with players resting, and I think a lot of the recreational players have phased out of the NBA because of that. But the playoffs are a totally different story."
Here are the updated series prices for the 2025 NBA playoffs from BetMGM:

How can the Boston Celtics change their play style next season?

After a flurry of off-season moves, the Boston Celtics are looking drastically different from the one that started the 2024-25 NBA season. Brad Stevens is overseeing a retooling process in Boston, and that means taking chances on players who have struggled to cement themselves in an NBA rotation in recent years. The hope is that at least some of them will emerge as candidates to provide depth on the next championship roster. When you look at the current roster, it's clear that there isn't the same level of two-way talent as in recent years. As such, Joe Mazzulla may need to adapt his style of play if he wants to get the best out of his new-look team. After all, Jaylen Brown, who is expected to be the primary offensive option, is at his best when attacking downhill or working out of the mid-block; he is not a catch-and-shoot or pull-up threat from deep. During a recent discussion between "Felger and Mazz" on 98.5 The Sports Hub, Michael Felger and Tony Massarotti discussed whether Joe Mazzulla will need to adjust his team's style of play for the upcoming season. Because, as currently constructed, it's unlikely that the roster will be able to execute the style of basketball we've become used to watching from the Celtics. Free agent former Mavericks big man working out for East contender

Free agent former Mavericks big man working out for East contender originally appeared on The Sporting News A free agent former Dallas Mavericks power forward/center is auditioning for an Eastern Conference hopeful. It makes sense that Dallas itself isn't interested in bringing the big man back, as the Mavericks currently boast a glut (perhaps a surplus) of frontcourt talent already. Full Nets 2025-26 NBA regular season schedule to be announced Thursday

The Brooklyn Nets are heading into the 2025-26 NBA season knowing each opponent they will be playing in the preseason as they prepare for the regular season. Brooklyn is hoping that next season will be better than the 2024-25 campaign when they finished with a 26-56 record and the good thing is, they will know all of their games later on this week. The NBA announced on Monday that some of the signature games for the 2025-26 season will be shown on Good Morning America and the TODAY show on Tuesday. Those shows are intended to be sneak peeks at the notable games for the upcoming season, which could involve the Nets, but it's also possible that they won't have any marquee games on a national stage. Either way, the league also announced that the entire schedule for the 2025-26 regular season will be announced on Thursday, meaning that Brooklyn fans won't have to wait long to see every matchup that their team will have. The Nets already know who they will be playing in the preseason and they also know that they will reportedly not be playing on Opening Night or Christmas Day. ESPN's Shams Charania has already detailed which teams will be playing on the first night of the regular season and on Christmas and with Brooklyn not being involved in either of those events could mean there won't be many national games. During the 2024-25 campaign, the Nets had five games on national TV so the same could follow for this season with the team still rebuilding. Brooklyn comes into the 2025-26 season with the biggest class from the 2025 NBA Draft so it's possible that could present some intrigue along with trading for Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. Either way, the Nets' full schedule for the 2025-26 season will be announced on Thursday and there's a possibility that at least of their games could be announced on Tuesday as well.
