Patmon's walk-off 3-run HR helps Oregon beat Stanford 10-7, win Eugene Regional
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Dezianna Patmon hit a walk-off three-run home run, Emma Cox and Katie Flannery also hit homers and Oregon beat Stanford 10-7 on Sunday night to win the Eugene Regional.
No. 16 seed Oregon (50-8) will play host to Liberty, which beat top-seeded and No. 1 Texas A&M in the Bryan-College Station Regional, in the super regionals next weekend.

Paige Sinicki hit a one-out single in the seventh, stole second base and advanced to third on a throwing error and Emma Cox was intentionally walked before Patmon hit the next pitch over the wall left field to give the Ducks their first lead.
Patmon hit a lead-off triple in the sixth and scored on a two-out single by Kai Luschar to make it 7-7.
Joie Economides hit a grand slam in the first inning and added a three-run shot in the third for Stanford (42-12).
Elise Sokolsky (18-4) came on with two out and runners on the corners and got Economides to groundout to end the game.
Rylie McCoy and Kedre Luschar blasted three-run home runs as the Ducks routed the Cardinals 15-5 to force the second game. Kai Luschar went 3 for 3 and scored three runs, Kedre Luschar had four RBIs and Paige Sinicki had three RBIs. Lyndsey Grein (28-2) went three innings for the win, giving up three earned runs. Elise Sokolsky threw three innings of one-hit ball for her fifth save.

Cyclists converge in Wisconsin for Epic Bike Fest
With only days until he races on his home course in Wisconsin, pro cyclist Daxton Mock is training in the rain. "You gotta push through it," said Mock. The 24-year-old won both races in last year's Epic Bike Fest across Wisconsin's Northwoods. "In the National Forest, ripping corners, up, down. It keeps it interesting," he said. "The trails are so good here." The three-day festival features single track races from Hayward to Cable through the Sawyer and Bayfield county forests on Saturday. "You don't see long stretches of single track like this in any other place around the Midwest," said Kristy Maki, event director for the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation. "So to be able to do a 37-mile race on single track, point to point, is pretty unusual and pretty unique for anywhere in the country." Sunday, riders and racers tackle a 50-mile gravel road race, which Mock describes as "just unreal." "You also have a big mental component on watching out for sand and rocks and different features on a gravel race, too," said Maki. There's also a half-distance option for both races, adding to the appeal for riders of different interests and fitness levels. "We are now over 1,000 riders and racers for the weekend," said Maki. That growth has allowed Epic Bike Fest to raise over $200,000 for trail development at Mt. Telemark Village and the Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association. "It's really important for me because I train on them all the time," said Mock. "I think having a spot and place up north in northern Wisconsin, where there's maybe not so much other things to do, it's really great." It's a chance for Mock to show off his skills, and show off what makes this area so special. "The community is amazing here and it seems to grow every year," he said. On-and-off showers are expected to continue this week in Wisconsin's Northwoods, but festival organizers say that shouldn't impact this weekend's races. Saturday should be dry for the single track and Sunday could see rain — but on the gravel, it won't be a problem. Registration is still open for all of the races. Royals at Cardinals postponed by rain, will be part of split doubleheader Thursday
ST. LOUIS (AP) — The game between the Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals scheduled for Wednesday night has been postponed by rain. The Cardinals said the I-70 rivals will finish their season series with a split doubleheader Thursday. The Royals won the series opener in St. Louis 10-7 on Tuesday. The Cardinals took two of three in Kansas City last month. Royals top prospect Jac Caglianone made his major league debut in the series opener, going hitless in five at-bats. The forecast called for rain to continue well past the scheduled start time Wednesday. St. Louis right-hander Miles Mikolas had been set to face Royals lefty Noah Cameron before the postponement. Rockies win first series since 2024, snapping 22-series losing streak
The Colorado Rockies ended a streak of 22 consecutive series losses dating to last year, beating the Miami Marlins 3-2 Tuesday night as Hunter Goodman homered for the third time in two games. Colorado, a major league-worst 11-50, won consecutive games for just the second time this year after beating Atlanta on April 30 and San Francisco the next day. They go for a series sweep against the Marlins on Wednesday. Goodman hit his 10th homer of the season in the eighth inning as the Rockies ended a run of 19 series losses this season. He had two homers in a 6-4 win over Miami on Monday. Goodman went 2 for 4 with his 12th double of the season. Tyler Freeman had three hits and Jordan Beck two. The Rockies tied the game in the fifth on Beck's RBI single and Thairo Estrada's sacrifice fly. Victor Vodnik (1-1) worked 1 1/3 innings of relief for the win. Seth Halvorsen retired three pinch hitters in the ninth and earned his third save. Colorado center fielder Brenton Doyle ended the game with a running catch at the wall to retire Heriberto Hernandez. Anthony Bender (1-4) gave up Goodman's homer. The 30-year-old right-hander had not allowed a homer since Aug. 10, 2024. Chase Dollander was reinstated from the injured list and started for the Rockies. The 23-year-old lasted three innings and 59 pitches, giving up RBI singles to Jesus Sanchez and Kyle Stowers. Sánchez had two hits for Miami, which has lost three in a row and seven of eight. Miami's Sandy Alcantara matched his longest start of the year, working six innings, but didn't figure in the decision for the second straight game after seven straight losses. With two outs in the Marlins' seventh, Xavier Edwards and Sánchez singled. Vodnik relieved and got Agustin Ramirez on a tapper back to the mound. Eight of Goodman's homers have come on the road.
