Brad Pitt's Divorce Response Sparks Backlash

Brad Pitt's Divorce Response Sparks Backlash

Buzz Feed3 days ago

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie began dating in 2005 and were together for about nine years before getting married in 2014. Their relationship lasted about 11 years in total before Angelina filed for divorce in 2016. Last December, their divorce was finalized after an eight-year legal battle.
Brad's relationship with their six children has allegedly become strained since the split. It has also been reported that Brad has "virtually no contact" with his adult children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh — and limited visitation with his younger twins, Knox and Vivienne.
Brad himself has acknowledged his struggles with substance abuse during their marriage. In a 2017 interview for GQ, he described the split as a "huge generator for change" in his life. Adding, "I can't remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn't boozing or had a spliff, or something... I stopped everything except boozing when I started my family. But even this last year, you know — things I wasn't dealing with. I was boozing, too."
Angelina also spoke about the divorce in a 2017 interview with Yalda Hakim for BBC News when she was promoting her 2017 film First They Killed My Father, a movie based on the genocide in Cambodia.
When asked how she was coping, holding back tears, Angelina said, "Many, many people find themselves in this situation...and my family, we've all been through a difficult time. My focus is my children, our children, and my focus is finding this way through... We are and forever will be a family, and so that is how I am coping. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer."
You can watch the full interview here.
And now Brad has made his first comments about the divorce since it was finalized last year.
In another GQ interview, Brad described his divorce finalization as "not that major of a thing" and "just something coming to fruition. Legally." He expressed that the legal conclusion didn't bring him a significant sense of relief, and that it was merely a formal step in the process.
He also added, "My personal life is always in the news. It's been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let's put it that way."
And, as you can imagine, some people on TikTok have been sharing their thoughts on Brad's comments. One TikToker expressed frustration over Brad's comments, saying, "My favorite part of the interview is when he tried to act all nonchalant and chill, like Mr. Cool Guy about the divorce from Jolie. They asked him if he was relieved and he said, 'Nah...it wasn't that major.' ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
They seem mostly upset at the fact that he appears to be shrugging off an 11-year relationship and custody of six kids.
That, and the fact that it took nearly as long as their entire relationship just to be finalized.
Others even blamed his zodiac for what appears to be a lack of emotion about the whole situation.
Either way, it is just not sitting right with some people.

Jon Jones Offers Cryptic Update on Heavyweight Title Unification

Jon Jones Offers Cryptic Update on Heavyweight Title Unification originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The UFC heavyweight division has been frozen in place for months, with no clear path forward and no official word from Dana White. Fans and media alike have waited patiently as speculation swirled—would the UFC strip its reigning champion due to inactivity, or would a long-awaited unification bout finally be made official? This week, Jon Jones offered a glimpse behind the curtain that suggests movement is happening behind the scenes, even if it's only incremental. Advertisement A recent video posted by TikTok user fynnwg and later shared by Parry Punch on X (formerly Twitter) captured what appeared to be a candid Q&A session with the reigning champion. In the clip, Jones was directly asked about fighting interim champion Tom Aspinall. Rather than deflect, he delivered a response that hinted at progress: 'The UFC, I and Tom, we all got a lot of stuff happening behind the scenes... Right now, Tom and I have agreed to wait for the UFC to make their announcements. So I legally can't really talk about it.' The tone marks a clear shift from Jones' previous online comments, where he often seemed dismissive of an Aspinall matchup. Now, there appears to be genuine coordination between both fighters and the promotion on how to move forward. Jon JonesGetty Images While the champion's remarks may not confirm a date or venue, they do breathe life back into the title picture. Still, until Dana White and the UFC make it official, it remains just talk. But at least now, the wait feels slightly more hopeful and less uncertain than it did before. New McDonald's sauces bring the heat more than ever

"Hot Ones"is a phenomenon that no one saw coming. The premise is, honestly, weird. If you're not familiar, the laid-back host, Sean Evans, sits down with celebrities and, over a plate of 10 chicken wings doused with progressively hotter sauces, asks them a series of thoughtful questions. The celebrities are distracted and sometimes distraught by the spicy food, which can result in unexpectedly intimate conversations, as well as some outright hilarity. "Hot Ones" launched on YouTube in 2015, and in the 25 seasons and 350 episodes since, Evans has interviewed some of the most A+ of the A-listers you can think of, and has made many of them cry. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter The likes of Tom Holland, Shaq, Jennifer Lawrence, and Margo Robbie have run the "Hot Ones" gauntlet. "'Hot Ones' - a breakthrough pop-culture phenomenon in which stars eat 10 progressively fiery wings (or, increasingly, a vegan substitute) while being asked 10 deeply researched questions - has built itself into an online pillar, holding steady amid the shifting tides of digital media," says The New York Times. Related: Pepsi makes major change that will anger some customers The show has nearly 15 million subscribers and more than 4 billion views on YouTube, plus millions of additional followers on Instagram and TikTok. No wonder McDonald's wants in on the action. McDonald's recently launched three "Hot Ones" sauces, but here's the bad news: the sauce collab is only happening in France. At least for now. McDonald's France offers: Hell Piñata: A smoky chipotle-infused mayonnaise with a mild kick, registering at a relatively mild 10,000 Scoville units. Thaï Toi: A sweet and sour blend featuring ginger and lemongrass, packing a punch at 70,000 Scoville units. Embrase-moi: A bold BBQ sauce infused with habanero peppers, reaching a gut-churning 200,000 Scoville units. Related: Trader Joe's sells out of TikTok famous treat (here's when it's back) The sauces are available with Chicken McNuggets and Veggie McPlant Nuggets in 6, 9, or 20 pieces, either à la carte or as part of a meal (excluding Happy Meals). The "Hot Ones" launch is part of a campaign featuring French rapper Naza, who takes on the spicy challenge under the guidance of host Kyan Khojandi. The McDonald's-"Hot Ones" spicy collab is only available in France for the time being, but American fans are salivating at the thought of a stateside release. Smuggling them from France even seems to be a thing. @noahsanchezofficial said, "I tried these! I took them on the plane back to Cali too lol, still have them" and @lakers209 said, "I brought back a 12 sets from my trip to France last year. They are all a lot hotter than you would expect." For now, spicy-food lovers can indulge in this funky fusion of fast food and fiery flavors, leaving the rest of us to hope it comes ashore here soon.
