'Just the beginning': Vivek Ramaswamy breaks record in raising fund for Guv election campaign, $8.5 million in five months
Vivek Ramaswamy breaks record in raising fund for Ohio Governor election which will be held in November 2026. Vivek Ramaswamy has raised over $8.5 million since his announcement of Ohio Governor election bid from the Republican party following his exit from the Department of Government Efficiency. Axios reported that this much money this early in the election cycle with the primary nearly a full year away is record-breaking. For comparison, Axios reported that Gov. Mike DeWine raised $3 million in the first half of 2021 during his reelection campaign. This money does not include any personal financing from Ramaswamy who spent over $30 million of his own money to fund his presidential campaign which he withdrew to support Donald Trump. "Just the beginning of breaking records in Ohio," Vivek reacted to his fund news. What is Vivek Ramaswamy's net worth? What is his source of wealth? Vivek Ramaswamy's net worth in 2025 is estimated to be between $800 million and $1.1 billion, with most sources leaning toward the higher end, around $1 billion. His wealth primarily comes from his 7-11% stake in Roivant Sciences, a biotech company he founded in 2014, valued at over $840 million based on SEC filings and campaign disclosures. Additional wealth stems from his stake in Strive Asset Management (worth over $100 million), investments in stocks, bonds, cryptocurrencies, and real estate, including two Ohio homes valued at $2.5 million. How did Indian-origin Vivek Ramaswamy become so rich? Born in 1985 to Indian immigrant parents (his father was a General Electric engineer and attorney, his mother a psychiatrist), Ramaswamy grew up in the Cincinnati suburb of Evendale. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trading CFD dengan Teknologi dan Kecepatan Lebih Baik IC Markets Mendaftar Undo He attended St. Xavier High School, graduating as valedictorian in 2003. With his early business acumen, Vivek while he was studying biology at Harvard co-founded a business, a tech startup that connected budding entrepreneurs with professional resources via the internet. The business was later sold to the Kauffman Foundation, a nonprofit that fosters entrepreneurs and education. After graduating from Harvard, Ramaswamy joined QVT Financial, a New York-based investment advisory firm and hedge fund manager. He also studied law at Yale University in the same batch as JD Vance. His work at QVT involved investing in biotech companies, which led to his interest in the development of new prescription drugs. Ramaswamy founded Roivant in 2014 to buy or license promising drugs that weren't a priority for their owners. Roivant would then take over the development process for the potential future medicine. The company organized its developing drugs into subsidiary companies that could be spun off into separate ventures or be sold. In 2015, Ramaswamy cashed out a piece of his Roivant stake, accounting for the majority of his nearly $37.1 million in capital gains on his tax return. A potential Alzheimer's Disease drug, called intepirdine, was the main drug under development at Axovant, a Roivant subsidiary that the company spun off in a 2015 initial public offering. The stock nearly doubled in price on the first day of trading, making the company worth nearly $3 billion. In 2021, Ramaswamy stepped down as CEO and chairman of Roivant as he pursued new ventures. Then he published his best-selling book 'Woke Inc'

Anti-Terror Agency NIA Raids In Punjab, Haryana, UP To Probe Khalistani Terror Network
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday conducted a series of searches across Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh to probe Khalistani terror network, officials said. NIA teams launched searches at 18 locations in the three northern states in the morning. They seized various incriminating materials, including mobiles, digital devices and documents, officials said. The searches were conducted at the premises of suspects linked with banned outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operative Kulbir Sidhu, US-based gangster Manish alias Kaka Rana, and their nodes based in India and various other countries, according to a statement issued by the probe agency. Sidhu, originally from Yamunanagar in Haryana, is currently in Germany and is a key aide of designated terrorist and BKI chief Wadhawa Singh Babbar, who is based in Pakistan, it said. Sidhu is also an accused in the NIA case related to the murder of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Vikas Prabhakar in Nangal, Punjab, in April 2024. The searches were conducted as part of the NIA's ongoing investigation into the recent BKI-linked grenade attack at the residence of former Punjab Minister Manoranjan Kalia. "The terror attack on the Punjab ex-minister's house in Jalandhar was committed on the night of 7th April 2025 by accused Saidul Ameen, who was arrested by the state police on 12th April," the statement said. This was one of the series of grenade attacks carried out by BKI operatives in Punjab, on the directions of foreign-based handlers of the proscribed terrorist organisation, it added. While in Punjab, searches were carried out in Hoshiarpur, SBS Nagar, Jalandhar, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran and Mansa districts, in Haryana, the NIA teams cracked down in the districts of Kurukshetra, Yamuna Nagar, Karnal and Ambala. Extensive searches were also conducted in the Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh, the anti-terror agency said. RSS Leader Calls For Debate On Words "Socialist", "Secular" In Preamble
New Delhi: Dattatreya Hosabale, the general secretary of the BJP's ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, today said the fate of two words in the preamble of the constitution - "Socialist" and "Secular" -- should be decided through debate. "During Emergency, two words Secular and Socialist were added to the Constitution, which were not part of the original Preamble," Mr Hosabale said at an event organised on 50 years of the Emergency. "Later, these words were not removed. Should they remain or not, debate must happen on this. These two words were not in Dr Ambedkar's Constitution. During Emergency, the country had no functioning Parliament, no rights, no judiciary and yet these two words were added." On the occasion, he also took a jibe at the Congress, and without naming him, its senior leader Rahul Gandhi. "The people who did this (imposed Emergency) are roaming around with copies of the Constitution today. They have, to date, not apologised to the people of India for this," he said. "You put more than 1 lakh people in jail, kept more than 250 journalists in jail, violated fundamental rights, and forced 60 lakh Indians to undergo sterilisation... You ended the independence of judiciary. Have all the people who did this apologised to the country? If it was not you but your ancestors, then you have to apologise in their name," he added. The BJP's move to name the 50th anniversary of Emergency -- - imposed by the government of the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1975 -- as the "Samvidhan Hatya Divas (Murder of Constitution Day)", has opened a new front with the Congress. The two parties have been again at loggerheads since yesterday, with leaders from JP Nadda to Union home minister Amit Shah ripping into the Congress. The Congress has responded sharply in face of the concerted BJP attack . "Those who never contributed to the freedom struggle or constitution-making are now claiming to defend it," said party chief Mallikarjun Kharge. "PM Modi is repeatedly invoking a period that the country has moved past. He is making an issue out of something that people have already forgotten," he had added. Apart from BJP-backed programmes in various states, the Union Cabinet adopted a resolution to honour the sacrifices of those who resisted Emergency. The ministers also observed two-minute silence against the excesses committed back then.
