Steps underway to resolve drinking water issues: ZP Chairman
Addressing the media later, Srinivasulu said that issues raised by members during the session would be addressed soon. He informed that Rural Water Supply (RWS) officials had been directed to resolve drinking water problems at the earliest. 'Transformers will be installed wherever necessary. Pending bills related to Panchayat Raj and RWS engineering works will be cleared shortly,' he assured.
With the monsoon season ahead, the ZP Chairman said that instructions were issued to RWS, District Panchayat Office (DPO), and the Health Department to step up sanitation measures and improve medical services in rural areas.
JC Vidyadhari said steps were underway to clear pending bills related to Panchayat Raj, Roads and Buildings (R&B), and RWS works. She urged farmers who had not received benefits under the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme to verify their land records, bank details, and Aadhaar e-KYC status.
'Due to non-availability of some farmers, we were unable to resolve their issues,' she said, adding that nearly 1.39 lakh farmers' grievances had already been addressed in the last four months through the Revenue and Agriculture Departments.
Farmers facing unresolved issues were advised to approach their respective Tahsildar offices or RSKs.
Similarly, beneficiaries of the Talliki Vandhanam scheme were asked to contact the Tahsildar, District Education Officer, or Collector's office for support. The JC also noted that the number of works sanctioned exceeded the funds allocated to the district, leading to certain difficulties. 'However, continuous review meetings with the District Collector, MPDOs, and concerned officials are being held to find solutions,' she said.
Speaking at the meeting, Agriculture JD Murali Krishna said in this Kharif season, so far 8,472 metric tonnes of fertilisers were distributed to farmers through Raithu Seva Kendras and still 7,156 metric tonnes are available. ZP CEO Ravi Kumar Naidu, MLAs K Murali Mohan, K Adimulam, MLC Cipai Subramanyam and others participated.

Janardhan launches Stree Shakthi free bus scheme
Nandyal: Nandyal District In-Charge Minister and Minister for Roads, Buildings, Infrastructure, and Investments BC Janardhan Reddy on Friday extended 79th Independence Day greetings to the people and honoured freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation's liberty. The government has also planned to induct additional buses, including electric vehicles, to strengthen public transport. Other major initiatives highlighted include Filling over 16,000 teacher posts, with 2,674 posts allotted to the Kurnool–Nandyal region under Mega DSC Recruitment. Implementation of Annadata Sukhibhava and PM-Kisan to provide Rs20,000 per year to eligible farmers; first phase benefits of Rs140 crore credited to over 2.06 lakh farmers in the district under Farmer Welfare. Completion of BT and CC roads, drainage works, and irrigation expansion through Handri-Neeva, ensuring water to tail-end fields under infrastructure. 18 employability skill centres established; job fairs placed over 1,400 youth in reputed companies. Fast-tracking construction of sanctioned houses with additional financial aid for pending units. Over 12,000 beneficiaries received surgeries and treatment through the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust this year under health service. Establishment of 890 MSME units in 2025–26, creating 3,000 jobs. Reiterating the State's commitment to the Swarnandhra 2047 Vision, Janardhan Reddy said the government is moving ahead with a comprehensive plan for poverty eradication, skill enhancement, water security, and sustainable growth to position Andhra Pradesh at the forefront by the centenary of Independence. Lokesh highlights reforms in edu sector
Guntur: Ministerfor Human Resources Development and IT Nara Lokesh said the coalition government in the State has introduced reforms in the education system and improved education standards. He reminded that the coalition government increased the number of model primary schools from 9,600 to 1200 in the previous government. He hoisted the national flag at the Police Parade Grounds here on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day celebrations on Friday. Speaking on this occasion, he said the coalition government confined the school teachers to education. The Mid-Day Meal scheme was named as Dokka Seethamma Mid-Day Meal Scheme. School students kits named as Dr Survepalli Radha Krishna School Kits and Universities were revamped and steps were taken to improve moral values. Free textbooks were distributed to the Intermediate students studying in the government and aided junior colleges. Mega parent and teachers meeting was conducted. Steps were being taken to strengthen the education system irrespective of politics. He thanked Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, ministers and MLAs for extending their cooperation for the development of Guntur. He recalled that the government hiked the old age pension to Rs 4,000 per month from Rs 3,000 per month. Talliki Vandanam, Annadata Sukhibhava, three free gas cylinders per year, free bus travel facility to women and filling the vacant teacher posts through the Mega DSC were taken up in spite of the financial crisis. He criticised the YSRCP for neglecting the development in the State during its tenure.
