He further said that on August 18, Rahul will start pad yatra which will pass through Dev Road Amba in Kutumba assembly constituency, covering Aurangabad district.
On Saturday, Rahul on X said, 'Sixteen days, 20-plus districts, 1,300-plus kilometres. We are coming among the people with voter rights yatra. This is the right to protect the most fundamental democratic right'-'one person, one vote'. Join us to save the Constitution.'

Modi govt under pressure, won't conduct 'true caste census': Rahul Gandhi
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday claimed that the Modi government announced a caste census only under pressure and it would neither get a "true" caste census done nor remove the 50 per cent cap on reservations. He made the remarks at the launch of the Voter Adhikar Yatra that started from poll-bound Bihar's Sasaram and saw the participation of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, Vikassheel Insaan Party's Mukesh Sahani. CPI(ML) Liberation general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, CPI(M)'s Subhashini Ali and CPI's P Sandosh Kumar also joined the launch ceremony of Gandhi's 1,300 km-long yatra. "We had said in Parliament, that we want a caste census and that the wall of 50 per cent cap on reservation should be brought down. I said it before PM Modi. "But the BJP and Narendra Modi, under pressure, announced a caste census but I know that they will not conduct a true caste census and will never bring down the wall of 50 per cent cap on reservations," Gandhi said in his address at the launch event. The Congress and INDIA bloc will get a caste census done in the whole country and remove the 50 per cent cap on reservations, Gandhi said. The Centre announced in April that caste enumeration will be part of the next population census, with the inclusion of caste details for the first time since independence. Opposition parties, including the Congress, have been demanding a nationwide caste census for long. Following the Union government's announcement, the Congress said many questions arise about the government's caste census decision, especially, the intention of the government, and the deadline for conducting the census. The Voter Adhikar Yatra will cover over 20 districts in Bihar to step up the Congress's campaign against what it claims to be "vote chori". It began on Sunday with Tejashwi driving a jeep which had Gandhi, Sahani, Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Kumar and Bhattacharya in it.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Sunday countered allegations of "vote chori" or electoral fraud to win elections levelled by the Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi, and vouched for the voting process in the world's largest democracy. He also said that no complaints would be accepted on the draft list of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) being conducted in Bihar after September naming Rahul Gandhi, CEC Kumar said that the data in the "PPT presentation" wasn't provided by the Election Commission India (ECI), and, anyway, it was a "wrong analysis". He cited examples from the Mahadevapura assembly segment of Bangalore Central Lok Sabha seat in Karnataka. The Assembly elections in Karnataka, which the Congress won, were held in May Congress leader used the electoral list from Mahadevpura to allege that it was indicative of the fraud that was perpetrated across the issues Rahul Gandhi highlighted in the press conference were duplicate entries of individuals, addresses with house number zero, and dozens of voters from a small how the Election Commission countered the three big points raised by Rahul ON HOUSE NUMBER ZERO CHARGE BY RAHUL GANDHIThe Election Commission said there were lakhs of houses in several panchayat areas that didn't have house number as part of their Kumar said it was out of question to leave out voters, and, therefore a "notional number", which is zero, was assigned to such said there are people who stay under bridges, near lampposts, and in unauthorised colonies in cities, and the poll body tries to not leave out any voter and assigns them address wasn't a prerequisite for voting, said Kumar, adding that "nationality, proximity to the booth and age of 18 years" were the key NAMES IN ELECTORAL ROLLSThe Election Commission said allegations were raised on duplicate voting by some Kumar said it was one thing to have a voter's name in more than one booth, and quite another to actually cast votes at two places."Even if a voter has his name in two places, he votes in one. An SIR involves door-to-door verification drive, while a summary revision takes into account new voters and those reported that India is the largest democracy, and the Election Commission had an electoral list with 90-100 crore voters, CEC Kumar vouched for the list's and the process's sanctity."One needs to have the stomach to listen to and understand the truth," he said, in reference to the press conference conducted by Rahul Gandhi in which he alleged manipulation by the EC to help the BJP win the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
