Brooklyn Beckham hit with Harry and Meghan warning as bitter feud takes new turn
As the Beckham family feud rumbles on, royal experts have weighed in on the striking similarities between Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz' family troubles and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's exit from royal life
Experts have warned that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may become the 'blueprint' for Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz amid their bitter family rifts. The two couples seem to be living parallel lives, with both Harry and Brooklyn's American partners distancing themselves from their in-laws.
However Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, need to be aware the 'damage' that can be done if they follow in the Sussexe's footsteps, a royal expert has warned.
It is believed that Meghan and Nicola have found "common ground" after both being accused of causing family rifts. And after Brooklyn's latest Instagram post where he boldly said he'd 'always choose' his wife, the Beckhams feud doesn't look as if it's easing up any time soon. But experts say it's a risky game to play for Brooklyn.
Ingrid Seward, Editor-in-Chief of Majesty Magazine, pointed out how they are following in the Sussexes' footsteps, with Prince Harry currently not on speaking terms with Prince William or King Charles. "It's also rather fascinating that the Beckham's son, Brooklyn, who was their firstborn, has sort of sided with his wife against the family. In a way, you know, we're looking at Harry, who was not firstborn, but sided with Meghan against the family," she told The Sun.
Ingrid further claimed Brooklyn and Nicola want to "become friends" with Harry and Meghan amid their family woes. It was recently reported that Prince Harry and Meghan showed Brooklyn and Nicola a sign of support by inviting them over for a group dinner at the their Californian home. An insider from the Sussex camp then claimed that Harry and Meghan didn't directly invite them, suggesting the couple ended up at the party through a mutual friend.
In terms of looking to Prince Harry for support, Newsweek's chief royal correspondent Jack Royston said that Brooklyn needs to "be careful" - as Harry and Meghan haven't managed to resolve anything with the royal family.
"Brooklyn and Nicola clearly have absolutely lapped up the opportunity to get to know Harry and Meghan, and no doubt probably were sharing some notes. But Brooklyn needs to be very careful because family is so important and he has not lost his family yet, but he could," he said.
The royal expert further noted: "Brooklyn should think very hard about whether if he is getting advice about whether that advice is actually good advice. It is understood the quartet swapped mobile numbers, but it is not known whether they have stayed in touch."
It comes after those close to the Beckham family have claimed that David and Victoria's eldest son is being 'held hostage' by his wife. "Brooklyn is now being referred to as 'the hostage.' He is in a situation where those who love Brooklyn fear that he is being controlled by Nicola and it is heartbreaking," one insider told Mail Online.

New Garnethill gallery to celebrate city's graffiti scene
With the public opening of the space set for Friday the 6th of June, the duo is hard at work. Setting down his tools for a brief chat, Ciaran tells me: 'I've known Panda since I was 16. We've both been part of the street art and graffiti scene in Glasgow, and various other art scenes in the city for all of our adult lives. 'Whenever I'd speak to Panda about future dreams and plans we had, a gallery was always part of that equation — but it was a pipe dream.' Ciaran, who works as a sign painter, met Panda at college back in 2006. Sat behind a rough wooden counter with a box of Crimbles macaroons in arms reach, Panda adds: 'I've had my stall at the Barras for two and a half years. It was really close to Ciaran's studio — he'd come and visit a lot. We'd speak about how we wanted the city to change, and that planted the seeds of doing something together. 'One day I was walking past and noticed that the space was up for rent. I always imagined the side wall having a mural on it, but had never been inside before.' Panda at work in the new gallery. (Image: Gordon Terris) Panda points to the 2008 film Beautiful Losers, which documents the lives of street artists in New York, as the duo's 'North Star'. 'The film is about a lot of American artists from all sorts of backgrounds,' he notes. 'They forge a really beautiful community and become some of the biggest artists in America. 'We've been involved in this since we were so young, so it is strange that something similar hasn't happened here yet.' Panda says that Glasgow's sometimes-reticent attitude to street art has been sparked by the council's approach to graffiti. He pauses. 'Historically,' Panda explains, 'the council has been very conservative on street art and graffiti. They've had a zero tolerance approach, and spent the highest amount of any council in the UK in removing graffiti. 'But when you remove stuff, it makes things stagnant. Yet, over the last five years, things have begun to change, there have been a lot of murals springing up. I think most people are actually pretty positive about street art.' The duo have been friends for nearly 20 years. (Image: Gordon Terris) This sentiment has been echoed on social media, as 46,000 people have followed the gallery's transformation on Panda's Instagram account. Ciaran adds: 'The immediate community here in Garnethill have been super positive about us moving in, because this building has lay in a semi-dilapidated state for quite some time. 'The exterior was subject to a lot of wear and tear, so as soon as we started slapping paint on it, we got a great reaction - the neighbours loved it. 'We've only been working on it for one month, but it's been a complete team effort - inside and out. If it was just me and Panda doing it, we'd be nowhere near finished but everyone has chipped in — it shows how much people want this. 'We've had joiners, stonemasons, glazers, electricians, neon sign installers and others help out.' The gallery will be open five days a week, Wednesday to Sunday; and sell affordable prints, merchandise, and artwork from close friends and fellow street artists. At the core of the gallery will be a rotating floor show each month, showcasing artists from across Glasgow. The first show, entitled 'Friends', is set to run between 6 June and 3 July. Panda says he hopes that the gallery will serve as a social space for Glasgow's arts community. The shop will be open five days a week. (Image: Gordon Terris) The artist has previously shared his experiences of drinking and drug-taking, and how committing to his work has helped to keep him sober. As a fitting tribute to the redemptive power of art, the gallery will open on the eight anniversary of Panda's sobriety. Panda tells me: 'We all used to hang out at the Art School union back in the day, and always went along to shows at Recoat gallery.' 'We want to create something similar — a regular community for artists. We want each show to be an excuse for people to come together.'

Shuggie Bain author Douglas Stuart's highly-anticipated new novel announced
Scottish-American novelist Douglas Stuart's third novel is a "tender and devastating story of love and religion, of a father and son, art and landscape" and is set for publication in 2026. Booker-Prize winning author of Shuggie Bain and Young Mungo is set to release a new novel. Douglas Stuart's next project is expected to be another tender and poignant powerhouse work, and was acquired by Picador to be released in 2026. Titled John of John, the book is set in the Isle of Harris and is described as a 'tender and devastating story' about love, religion, family secrets and sexuality. The story follows Cal Macleod, a young man returning home to his father, John, and grandmother in a small village in the Outer Hebrides at the end of the 90s. A recent art school graduate, Cal is drawn home to the family croft under the pretence of caring for his ailing grandmother. But when Cal returns home, he quickly discovers that not everything is as his father made it out to be and is also drawn back 'into a world of suppressed emotion and terrible secrecy'. In the words of the novel's author: '[John of John] is a story about looking for love. It's a story about looking for self. But Cal has left behind many broken relationships when he left the island, and he's got to come back and face them all. 'And the family, although they're living in this one small croft house, are all keeping some kind of secret from each other.' In this intense and intimate family portrait, Cal and John both keeping their sexuality secret threatens both their relationship and their own lives. John of John is currently set to be published on May 21, 2026. At this time, you can pre-order a hardback copy from Waterstones for £20. Stuart shared in a video for Waterstones: 'I'm really excited. It's my third novel, it's my new novel, and I hope you enjoy meeting the Macleod family and everyone that comes into their life.' Douglas Stuart is a Scottish-American author and has written two novels to date: Shuggie Bain (2020) and Young Mungo (2022). Both of Stuart's previous two works have drawn on his troubled family upbringing and his experience being gay in a claustrophobic Glasgow community coloured by toxic masculinity and poverty. Help us improve our content by completing the survey below. We'd love to hear from you! Stuart grew up on a housing estate in Glasgow and earned a master's degree from the Royal College of Art before moving to New York City at 24 to work as a fashion designer. He wrote his debut novel Shuggie Bain while working 12-hour shifts as a senior director of design. Based on Stuart's childhood, Shuggie Bain is set in Glasgow in the 1980s and tells the story of a young boy growing up with a mother who is battling addiction. Stuart explores poverty, tough upbringings and alcoholism in his book. Shuggie Bain went on to receive widespread literary acclaim, winning the esteemed Booker Prize in 2020. A24 picked up rights to adapt Shuggie Bain more than four years ago and the BBC greenlit the project in late 2022, but it is still seeking international finance, as reported by Deadline.
