Meet the Leeds pianist behind 'haunting' Adolescence song
A musician from Leeds said she felt "incredibly lucky" to have been part of Netflix hit show Adolescence. The four-part series, which centres around a 13-year-old boy who is accused of murdering a schoolmate, has received widespread praise for shining a light on the corrosive impact of social media and misogynist influencers on some teenagers.Sophie Lim accompanies a children's choir on the piano for a cover of Sting's song Fragile during a poignant scene in the second episode.Ms Lim, who works as a student information adviser at the University of Leeds, said: "They wanted it to be really moving, to evoke the heavy emotion of the scene."
Ms Lim said she had no idea what the show was about when she was initially contacted by one of its composers, David Ridley."I was only sent the music a week before, together with a bit more information about the storyline," she said."None of the children were musically trained, so they had to learn to sing from scratch and learn the song by heart."
The song, which is about the meaninglessness of violence, plays in the background as the boy's father lays flowers at the crime scene."I felt it perfectly captured the fragility of the situation; that it's incredibly difficult to be a child in this world right now," said Ms Lim."I could see why they wanted it to be a stripped-back and more haunting version of the original."While an emotionally charged experience, she said she really enjoyed the process."I felt incredibly lucky they were prepared to take a chance on me and believed in me," she said."It was an awesome experience."Despite her involvement in the series, Ms Lim had to wait like everyone else until it officially aired last month."I have to confess it was a slightly weird experience hearing the song I'd recorded, but I think it perfectly captured the conflict between the themes of innocence and the harsh realities explored in the show," she said."I'm really happy with how it all came across."

Will there be a series four of Ginny and Georgia after huge plot twist finale
Series three of Ginny and Georgia left on a huge cliff-hanger- so will there be a series four? The third series of hit Netflix show Ginny and Georgia dropped onto the streaming platform on Thursday, June 5, and super fans have already finished binging all 10 episodes. But, after a cliff-hanger ending (spoilers ahead) viewers are on the edge of their seats, wondering if a fourth series has been confirmed. Series three of Sarah Lampert's comedy-drama, which focuses on teen Ginny and her 30-year-old mum Georgia, picked up after the jaw-dropping events of the series two finale, in which Georgia was arrested for the murder of Tom Fuller at her wedding to Wellsbury mayor Paul Randolph. Georgia's son Austin, who was playing hide-and-seek and hiding in the wardrobe of Tom's room, had witnessed the act as Georgia smothered Tom with a pillow. The third season primarily focuses on the murder trial, with Georgia facing a possible prison sentence. In a shocking turn of events, Austin frames his father, Gil, for the murder he knows was committed by his mum. But aside from this twisted crime and resulting trial, a huge plot twist that came at the end of the series was that both Ginny and Georgia discover that they are pregnant, after Georgia had faked a pregnancy earlier in series three. And what's more, we don't know the identity of the father of Georgia's baby. So, will fans be blessed with another series of this twist-after-twist comedy-drama? Luckily, the show was renewed for a fourth series at the same time its third series was confirmed, back in 2023. But viewers will have to wait until then to find out the aftermath of Ginny and Georgia's fast-paced series three finale. And its fourth series is planned to be its last ever. Showrunner Debra J. Fisher revealed to the Hollywood Reporter that the Netflix show was always planned to run for four series, and that they had already mapped out plans for Ginny and Georgia's final episode. The showrunner told the publication: "When Sarah [Lampert] and I pitched the show to Netflix, we did pitch four seasons, so we know what we want the end game to be. 'We know what we want the last episode to be.' Although the fourth series of the beloved show is yet to receive a confirmed release date, fans can expect to wait around two years, as has been the norm for the previous series. Ginny and Georgia series one came out in 2021, series two in 2023, and series three in 2025. And fans are devastated to have to wait, expressing their eagerness for series four on social media. One fan said on X: "Just finished season 3 of Ginny and Georgia. An amazing season, I need season 4 on my desk tomorrow!" Another user wrote: "Just got done with season 3 and Georgia is still mother, Joe is still hot af, Paul DILF card got revoked, not any cringe worthy moments from Ginny, and Ellen still being Georgia best friend throughout every thing with that said give me season 4".
