Bayern Munich's Aleksandar Pavlovic undergoes surgery after fracturing eye socket
Pavlovic, 21, suffered the injury in training on Friday and while Bayern confirmed he is set for a spell on the sidelines, the club did not provide a timeframe for his return.
The Germany international made 33 appearances in all competitions last season as Bayern won the Bundesliga, including featuring in all five of his side's matches in their run to the quarter-finals of this summer's Club World Cup.

The Athletic reported on Friday fellow defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha was set to undergo a medical at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of a season-long loan move. The deal includes the option to make the transfer permanent for €30million (£25.9m, $34.2m) at the end of the season, and Spurs will cover his wages in full.
Bayern are already without playmaker Jamal Musiala, who is set to miss the opening months of the season after fracturing his fibula in July. Full-back Alphonso Davies has also been sidelined since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in March.
Pavlovic established himself in the Bayern first team during the 2023-24 campaign and was subsequently rewarded with a new contract through to 2029.
He made his Germany debut in June 2024, but was ruled out of the European Championship that summer due to tonsillitis. He was sidelined for over a month between October and December after suffering a broken collarbone, and missed eight matches through illness between February and April.
Bayern play Stuttgart in the German Super Cup on August 16 and begin their Bundesliga title defence against RB Leipzig on August 22.

Ederson moves closer to Galatasaray
Ederson moves closer to Galatasaray Ederson Moraes, the Brazilian goalkeeper from Manchester City, has already given the green light to Galatasaray. A three-year contract is on the table, along with a massive salary: eight million euros per season. In Istanbul, fans are already dreaming of seeing him don the yellow and red jersey. But there's still one obstacle. Manchester City won't let go of their starting keeper so easily. Galatasaray's €7 million offer has been rejected. The English side are asking for nearly double that amount—€13 million. Negotiations are ongoing. With just days to go before the league campaigns resume, everything could speed up. If Galatasaray matches the asking price, this transfer could become one of the summer's most talked-about moves.

Manchester United closely monitoring Upamecano
Manchester United closely monitoring Upamecano With his contract set to expire in June 2026 at Bayern Munich, Dayot Upamecano has caught the eye of Manchester United. According to journalist Christian Falk (Bild), the Red Devils have added the 26-year-old French centre-back to their list of potential targets. This summer, Manchester United has primarily strengthened its attacking options with Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko. The English club is now focusing its efforts on the defensive line. Bayern Munich, for its part, is keen to extend Upamecano's contract, but negotiations have yet to yield an agreement. The player has nevertheless hinted that a deal remains possible: I am very happy here. There are talks with Max (Eberl), Christoph (Freund), and my agent. We'll see what happens. Paris Saint-Germain is also reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation, according to Kicker. Since joining from RB Leipzig in 2021, Upamecano has played 152 official matches for Bayern, scoring 5 goals and providing 10 assists.
