Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb collides with NFL official in bizarre preseason moment
Lamb was on the sideline when he started to celebrate wide receiver Jonathan Mingo blowing past a few Rams defensive backs to get wide open on a play in the second quarter. However, Lamb turned his back and a sideline official ran into him.
Neither the official nor Lamb expected what happened. Both men were helped up and neither appeared injured.
"It's sideline interference. CeeDee Lamb was standing in the restricted white border area, which is our area to officiate the game. The official on the play was focused solely on doing his job, and he ran into CeeDee Lamb, who was standing in that restricted area," referee Alex Moore told a pool reporter, via CBS Sports.
"That's what happened. And with that contact, it's an automatic foul."
The Cowboys were penalized for Lamb's action.
Los Angeles ended up winning the game, 31-21. Stetson Bennett IV had 188 passing yards and two touchdown passes. Blake Corum ran for two more touchdowns.
Cowboys quarterback Joe Milton III had 143 passing yards and a touchdown pass. Will Grier was 2-of-3 passing and had a rushing touchdown.
Lamb may not see too much time, if at all, in preseason action. He's the team's No. 1 receiver.
He was named to the Pro Bowl for the fourth time in 2024. He had 101 catches for 1,194 yards and six touchdown catches.

There could be more defensive reinforcements before the end of the transfer window due to concerns over the form of players like Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic. Massimiliano Allegri's men have signed midfielders Samuele Ricci, Luka Modric and Ardon Jashari this summer. DAEL Fry felt himself getting emotional. Saturday's home win over Swansea City had not long finished and the defender, the matchwinner, with the captain's armband still strapped around his left bicep, was being led around the pitch with his teammates by head coach Rob Edwards, acknowledging the support of the crowd and celebrating their opening day victory. It was then that Fry noticed a young supporter holding up a sign in the crowd. "I saw a poster saying 'Dael Fry, 10 years' and it made me think how far I've come, from being a young lad to captaining your hometown team," says the defender. "It made me tear up actually. It's something I'm really proud of. "It was just a random sign I saw and I just thought 'wow'. I really appreciate it. Sometimes it's easy to be tunnel vision but to be recognised like that means so much." More than 250 appearances have since followed yet for Fry the feeling of pride when he pulls on the shirt of his boyhood club has never faded and never will. It was six years ago that Fry first captained Boro but the joy he felt that day at Bristol City was matched on Saturday when he walked into the Riverside dressing room and saw the armband on his peg. "I made my debut 17 year old, I'll never forget it, Preston away 0-0," he says. "To make one appearance is very special but to make more than 250 and be here 10 years is something I'm so proud of. "To put the shirt on is special. We have loads of leaders, whether I wear the armband or not, I'll give it everything for this club. "But of course it's nice to have the armband. When I came in the dressing room and saw it on my peg I was over the moon. "I feel like I'm definitely more experienced now. Over the years I've been more reserved but now I'm an experienced pro and have played more than 250 games for Middlesbrough. "I do see myself as a leader. There are a few leaders in the dressing room - Aidan Morris, Luke Ayling, Darragh Lenihan - so to be captain means a lot. "To captain my hometown club, get a clean sheet and get the goal, it couldn't have gone any better." The scenes at full-time demonstrated just how much it meant to Edwards. "The manager has tasted promotion and he said 'you have to celebrate these wins'," explained Fry afterwards. "And we should do. We've worked hard for that. "It's fantastic to applaud the fans like we did at full-time because we want to bring the fans closer this year. "We're going to need them and they were fantastic today." Fry has seen it all at Boro, and being a Teessider and living in the town, knows that expectations among supporters going into the season aren't as high as what they have been previously. But the defender doesn't necessarily think that's a bad thing. "You see things and hear people speak about us saying they don't think we're going to be up there competing," admitted the centre-half. "It feels like there's going to be a bit less pressure this year, but sometimes when it's like that you see yourself as underdogs. "We have more than enough in this squad, we have a fantastic squad, so there's no reason we can't be up there. "There's a lot of competition but I think we'll give it a really good shot this year."

Last Pundit Standing winner crowned at Wembley
Nahyan Chowdhury fell to his knees in tears as Alex Scott called out his name at Wembley. The 25-year-old from Liverpool had just been announced as the winner of the Last Pundit Standing - the BBC's bold new talent search to find their next football expert. Chowdhury - who works full-time as a chemist - was one of 12 content creators selected for the show from more than 400 applicants. Over seven episodes, the contestants were challenged by some of the biggest names in the game through a series of tasks staged at iconic football locations. With points up for grabs in each challenge, the top four progressed to the semi-final before the finalists battled it out to be crowned the winner at Wembley on the day of the 2025 FA Cup final. Chowdhury went head-to-head with Toby Addison and the pair were challenged to create a bespoke 60-second social media video centred around the FA Cup final. The finalists had won two challenges each heading into the final and were closely-tied until the end. "The chosen creator has shown great resilience being able to deliver under pressure and has an exciting future in this role," Scott said as she announced the winner. Chowdhury was overcome with emotion as he was hugged and congratulated by Addison. From the first challenge at Goodison Park in episode one - where Chowdhury was the only contestant to hit the woodwork in the crossbar challenge - hearing the news at Wembley was a full circle moment for him. "Fair play," Addison said. "He comes in week one at Goodison and hits the crossbar. It was destined." With a contract at BBC Sport secured, Chowdhury's first day in his new role will be 12 August. "I'm excited, get me in and get straight going," he said. "I wanted to get in there straight away and make an impact and prove I am a worthy winner. "I had no idea I'd be in this position. If you asked me a year ago and you said you would be making content and be on a TV show, I'd have said 'no chance'. I never thought about it because you just don't see people like me doing that kind of thing. I am so lucky I have been thrown into this position. "I've done it, I've proved to myself that I can do it and I'm going to prove to everyone else that I am a worthy winner. It's not the end, it's just the beginning. "I am the last pundit standing."
