The two accused - Lokendra Singh Tomar and Balbir Ahirwar - were granted bail on Friday, according to PTI news agency.
Tomar is the owner of the flat in Indore where Sonam had stayed after fleeing Meghalaya and Balbir was the security guard at the property.
Sonam Raghuvanshi, Raja's newly wedded wife, is accused of killing him during their honeymoon in Meghalaya with the help of her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha.
The duo granted bail faced charges related to obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence at a flat in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, where Sonam and her alleged boyfriend Raj Kushwaha had stayed after the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi.
Raja Raghuvanshi went missing on May 23 while on honeymoon with wife Sonam in Meghalaya, while the latter was missing for several days and was believed to have been abducted.
Raja Raghuvanshi's mutilated body was found in a deep gorge in Sohra area of East Khasi Hills district on June 2.
Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi left for their honeymoon from Madhya Pradesh's Indore to Meghalaya's Shillong on May 20. In June, after an over two-week long search, Sonam Raghuvanshi was found at a 'dhaba' in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur, over 1,200 kilometres away from Meghalaya. She reportedly surrendered before the police.
Raja had married Sonam on May 11. Sonam and Raj Kushwaha were accused of plotting and hiring three hitmen - Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan and Anand Kurmi - to murder Raja Raghuvanshi.
Sonam, Raj Kushwaha and three arrested hitmen are now in judicial custody.
A Meghalaya court on July 4 extended the judicial custody of Sonam Raghuvanshi and her alleged boyfriend Raj Kushwaha by another 14 days. On June 21 the court had remanded the two prime accused to 13-day judicial custody which ended on Friday.

Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha: I take full onus for Pahalgam, was a security failure

File photo: J&K LG Manoj Sinha (Picture credit: PTI) LG Manoj Sinha, who completes five years at J&K Raj Bhavan, told TOI's Bharti Jain that the Pahalgam terror attack was a Pakistan-sponsored terror attack. 'The intention of the neighbour (Pakistan) was to create a communal divide. ' 'I take full responsibility for the incident, which was undoubtedly a security failure.' Excerpts from the interview: Has the Pahalgam attack shattered the myth that terrorism is on the wane in J&K? What happened in Pahalgam was very unfortunate; innocent people were brutally killed. I take full responsibility for the incident, which was undoubtedly a security failure. The common belief here has been that terrorists do not target tourists. The location where the attack took place is an open meadow. There is no facility or room for security forces to be present there. This was a Pakistan-sponsored terror attack. The arrests made by NIA in the case corroborate local involvement but it would still be wrong to conclude that the security environment in J&K stands completely vitiated. The attack was a debilitating and deliberate strike on the nation's soul. The intention of the neighbour (Pakistan) was to create a communal divide and trigger a backlash against the people of J&K living in other parts of the country, adding to the feeling of alienation. Pakistan doesn't want J&K to be peaceful and prosperous. In the past five years, the J&K economy's size has doubled. Tourists have been flocking in high numbers. This (attack) was a hit by Pakistan at the economic well-being of Kashmir. But condemnation and protests by the people of Kashmir following the attack provided a befitting reply to Pakistan and terror outfits. They were clear signs that terrorism is not acceptable here anymore. There has been no attack in J&K since Operation Sindoor. Do you think this will hold? Operation Sindoor has drawn red lines for Pakistan. India has made it clear that any terror attack will be considered an act of war. The manner in which our forces carried out precise hits against terror facilities in Pakistan, and when it tried to target our military and civilian assets, how they destroyed their airbases, conveyed a stern message to Pakistan. Still, a country that has made terrorism its declared state policy, is not to be trusted. I am confident that the home ministry, defence ministry and our intelligence agencies are keeping a watch on Pakistan. But it is a fact that there has been no terror attack in J&K after Operation Sindoor. Is local involvement in Pahalgam attack a worry for security agencies? Local terror recruitment is at an all-time low. There has been just one incident of local recruitment this year as compared to 6 to 7 last year; there was a time when this figure used to be 150-200. But it is also a fact that Pakistan has facilitated the infiltration of a large number of terrorists in both Jammu region and Kashmir region. How has the Pahalgam incident impacted tourism in J&K? Tourist arrivals had almost stopped after the Pahalgam incident. We believed that the Amarnath yatra would be turning point. What is the status on tourist destinations closed after Pahalgam attack? We have already opened many. Others will be opened too in a phased manner. This is being done after finalising a robust security plan for each one of them.

Uttarakhand: Man held in connection with Rs 3.7 Crore jewellery robbery case in Bihar

The robbery took place on July 26, 2024, when six members of the Subodh gang stole jewellery worth Rs 3.70 crore at gunpoint from a Tanishq showroom located in the Khajanchi Haat area of Purnia district in Bihar, Bhullar said. The accused, identified as Rahul alias Mohammad Shakib, had been absconding since July last year. He was arrested from the Piran Kaliyar area of Haridwar district, where he was living under a changed identity, STF Senior Superintendent of Police Navneet Singh Bhullar said. Dehradun, Jul 13 (PTI) The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) on Sunday arrested a man for his alleged involvement in the robbery of jewellery worth Rs 3.70 crore from a showroom in Bihar in 2024, officials said. One of the accused, Chunmun Jha, was killed in a police encounter. Four others are currently lodged in jail, while Shakib had been on the run since the incident. Bhullar said the Uttarakhand STF received information from the Bihar STF that Shakib was living in the Kaliyar police station area. Based on this input, he was traced and arrested. It was also learned that Shakib, along with Chunmun Jha and other members of the gang, had killed a leader of the Lok Janshakti Party in Bihar in 2021, for which he served a two-year jail sentence, Bhullar added. Uttarakhand: 82 fake babas held in Dehradun under ‘Operation Kalanemi'

Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Singh said the drive was launched on Thursday following Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's instructions to take strict action against those exploiting public faith under the guise of religion. With this, a total of 82 fake babas have been arrested under the operation in Dehradun, officials said. Dehradun, Jul 13 (PTI) Under 'Operation Kalanemi', launched by the Uttarakhand government, police here on Sunday arrested 34 more people, guised as sadhus and saints, to allegedly cheat people, officials said. 'Multiple teams have been formed, and action is being taken at locations where inputs are received about such impostors playing with people's sentiments,' Singh said. He added that among the 34 arrested on Sunday, 23 were residents of other states. In the last three days, 82 such individuals have been arrested from different areas of the district, and legal action is being taken against them under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the SSP said. Among those arrested is a Bangladeshi national, Rukn Rakam alias Shah Alam, who was apprehended on Friday from the Sahaspur area of Dehradun district. The SSP said the campaign would continue, especially in light of the ongoing Char Dham Yatra and Kanwar Yatra, during which such fake babas are reportedly becoming more active. Launching the campaign on Thursday, the chief minister said, 'Just as the 'asur' (demon) Kalanemi tried to mislead people by appearing as a saint, there are many such 'Kalanemis' in today's society who are committing crimes in the name of religion.'
