Jamia Millia Islamia has opened admissions for its 2025–26 distance and online programmes. Eligible candidates can apply online at jmi.ucanapply.com before the given deadlines.
The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has released its prospectus for the 2025–26 academic session and opened admissions for a wide range of distance and online mode programmes. Eligible candidates can apply through the official portal at jmi.ucanapply.com.
The prospectus was unveiled last week by JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif and Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, in the presence of CDOE Dean Prof. M. Moshahid Alam Rizvi and members of the Prospectus Committee, the university stated.
Wide Range of Programmes, New Additions
This year's admission cycle covers postgraduate degrees in Hindi, Urdu, English, Education, Geography, History, Islamic Studies, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Commerce, MBA, and MA in Human Resource Management.
Undergraduate courses include BEd, BA, BCom, BBA, and BCIBF. The centre is also offering postgraduate diplomas in Guidance and Counselling and Geoinformatics, alongside advanced diplomas in seven specialised areas, namely Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Public Policy and Governance, International Relations and Global Governance, Educational Media Production, Mass Media in Hindi, Mass Media in Urdu, and Taxation.
Application Deadlines
Candidates can access the detailed prospectus and application forms through the JMI Controller of Examinations website at jmicoe.in. Applications for non-entrance test programmes will remain open until 31 August 2025, while MBA and B.Ed. applicants, for which entrance tests are mandatory, must apply by 21 August 2025.
The prospectus provides comprehensive details on admission procedures, course structures, and learner support services.
Highlighting the importance of expanding access, Vice Chancellor Prof Mazhar Asif said, 'The aim should be to reach learners in all regions," urging the centre to strengthen its learner support base across the country in line with the National Education Policy.

Mumbai: A total of 4,680 students across 252 schools in India received their Cambridge IGCSE and O Level results, a 7% rise over 2024, on Tuesday. First Language English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology dominated subject choices — a reaffirmation of the country's fascination with core sciences alongside global fluency. At the advanced level, over 5,300 Indian students sat for Cambridge AS & A Levels, recording a 3% increase. Varsities urged to focus more on skill training

Former Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac has urged universities in the State to focus more on skill training for students. Along with knowledge creation, varsities should focus on improving the skill level of students, he said at a career orientation session held at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS), Kalady. The event was part of the joint initiative of the university and the Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission under the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council. He urged students to realise their skill levels while pursuing academic programmes. The government has launched various programmes to inculcate entrepreneurship on campuses, he said. As part of the joint association with the Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission, students will be given training on how to step up their skills in tune with the requirements of the job market. Sessions on 'How to perform in interviews' and 'Developing English language skills' will be offered as part of the programme. SSUS Vice-Chancellor K.K. Geethakumary presided. P.S.
