The film has grossed $408,986,434 domestically (45%) and $500,600,000 internationally (55%) in its first 38 days of release (via Box Office Mojo). Distributed by Warner Bros., the PG-rated movie opened on April 4, 2025, in 4,263 theaters and earned $162.7 million in its debut weekend.
According to Variety, the film is currently the third-highest earner at the domestic box office, behind Thunderbolts and Sinners. In its sixth weekend, it earned an estimated $9 million, indicating a steady slowdown amid rising competition during the summer movie season. It remains the second-highest-grossing video game movie of all time, following 2023's The Super Mario Bros. Movie ($1.36 billion).
On Friday, April 4, the film opened with $57,113,324 and saw a Saturday increase to $59,409,839. Its first weekend concluded with $162.7 million. By its second Friday, earnings dropped to $20.5 million, and by the third Friday, it posted $16 million. The most recent Sunday figure, May 11, stood at $2.5 million, contributing to the cumulative $408.9 million domestic total.
North America and several international territories drove the film's strongest performance. Fan-driven attendance and strong promotion boosted its success. Warner Bros. produced the film with a reported budget of $150 million. The story follows four misfits navigating a cubic universe to find their way home.
The film has already crossed $400 million domestically and $900 million worldwide. However, industry observers consider the $1 billion milestone unlikely. Rising summer competition and falling weekly averages may limit future earnings.

Coogler had originally become aware of prosthetic makeup designer Mike Fontaine's work after seeing Jeremy Saulnier's brutal container thriller Green Room. "I hadn't been that viscerally moved by makeup since I saw The Thing," Coogler says in the featurette. "It kind of left a mark on me." Once onboard, Fontaine met with Coogler to hear directly from him about what his goals for Sinners' makeup were and to land on a shared point of view. "Ryan and I were having a conversation early on, and I started to get a sense of what his vision was for the film," Fontaine says. "The process for me always begins with the script and the initial images that come to mind. From there, Fontaine went off to begin a months-long process that evolves from drawing to paintings and sculpting, some of which you can see in the video above. The play tells the story of veteran journalist Edward R. Murrow taking on Sen. Joseph McCarthy during the Red Scare of the 1950s. The performance airs Saturday at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on CNN. Ben Affleck reprises his role as Christian Wolff, an autistic man who's a genius with numbers and also really good with guns. He works as an accountant for criminal organizations while also serving as an informant for the Treasury's financial crimes division. In The Accountant 2, Affleck is joined by Jon Bernthal as Christian's soldier-for-hire brother Braxton, who had a small role in the first film but gets bumped up to basically co-lead here. When Christian needs help with a job, he calls on his estranged brother, and they reconnect as they go on a gun-toting road trip together. It's literally Rain Man as an action thriller. It's funnier than the original, and Affleck and Bernthal are very entertaining together. After a modest theatrical run, it's now streaming on Prime Video, which makes sense; it's very much in the same vein as the Road House remake, one of the streaming service's biggest original hits. If you're math-phobic, here are some other movies to stream or watch on-demand this weekend: : Director Dan Trachtenberg's quest to revitalize the Predator franchise continues with this animated feature that's now streaming on Hulu. The bloody action flick is something of an anthology movie, as warriors from various time periods — a Viking, a ninja in feudal Japan, and a World War II pilot — go up against a Predator alien who sees them as a challenge. It's Trachtenberg's second released Predator movie, after 2022's cult favorite Prey, and will be followed by live-action thriller Predator: Badlands later this year. : Robert De Niro and Robert De Niro star in this Mafia drama. De Niro plays dual roles as 1950s mobsters Vito Genovese and Frank Costello as they fight for control of the Luciano family. It tells famous tales of Mafia history in a way you've seen many times before, but De Niro, screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi (Goodfellas), and director Barry Sonnenfeld (Bugsy) know what they're doing. There are three actors from The Sopranos in the supporting cast — Kathrine Narducci, Michael Rispoli, and Matt Servitto — if that's something you take into account in deciding whether to watch a mob movie. The Alto Knights flopped in theaters but is looking to find a second life on Max. : Writer-director-producer Tyler Perry is back with a new Netflix drama. Taraji P. Henson stars as Janiyah, a woman at the end of her rope. She's a single mother having an exceptionally bad day. She gets evicted from her apartment, robbed, and disrespected everywhere she goes. She just needs to deposit her check at the bank so she can pay for her daughter's medicine, and when even that goes wrong, she ends up a suspect in a crime she didn't mean to commit, and it turns into a hostage situation. It's a film that empathizes with everyone who is just a few bad breaks away from calamity. The supporting cast includes Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor, and Sinbad. A sure sign that the weather's changing is the arrival of fresh singles aiming to be the season-defining hit. And previous title-holder Sabrina Carpenter is throwing her hat back into the ring with "Manchild," a country-influenced ode to the dim men in her life with a little disco thrown into the mix. The video accompanying the release feels like a deliciously overstuffed trailer for an off-the-wall '70s road movie. Ahead of the release of "First Steps" on July 25, Marvel Studios have debuted composer Michael Giacchino's full main theme for the Fantastic Four. Sonically, the track is a mix of bright mid-century retro-futurism and some more spacey synth. Disney is also releasing the theme on a "Galactic Blue" 7-inch LP, which is available for pre-order here. Get your first listen below. The Weeknd Might Not Be Retiring His Music Persona After All
The Weeknd has teased that Hurry Up Tomorrow— his sixth album and upcoming film of the same name— also marks the end of the artist fans have grown to love for over 15 years. However, that may not necessarily be the case. While promoting the film at CinemaCon 2025, Abel Tesfaye told EW that this moment feels like both a death and resurrection. 'It feels like it [the end of the Weeknd]. I mean, I've kind of toyed with the idea in the past with albums,' he noted. 'But it could also just be a rebirth. Who knows?' Back in January, the 35-year-old announced plans to retire his alter ego. 'It's a headspace I've gotta get into that I just don't have any more desire for,' he explained to Variety. 'You have a persona, but then you have the competition of it all. It becomes this rat race: more accolades, more success, more shows, more albums, more awards and more No. 1s. It never ends until you end it.' Hurry Up Tomorrow marks the conclusion in the trilogy that began with 2020's After Hours, which was followed by 2022's Dawn FM. The film follows a fictionalized version of himself, also named Abel, who gets taken on an insane ride by a seductive stranger, Anima (Jenna Ortega). Director Trey Edward Shults, shared with EW in February that he 'tried to make the movie in a way where, for his fans and people who want to approach it at that level, I hope it's very satisfying and you get a good meal out of it.' Shults confirmed that it was an 'absolute possibility' that the movie would be The Weeknd's last hurrah chapter, adding 'For people that aren't his fans and don't know anything about him or even care about the final capping of the Weeknd, I think you still have a great movie to go through.' The Weeknd considers the film to be 'really introspective and cathartic.' It hits theaters this Friday.
