The buzz around Kuberaa is getting louder, especially after its electrifying song launch event in Mumbai. Titled Pippi Pippi Dum Dum Du, the track was unveiled in the presence of the film's lead cast—Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dhanush, and Jim Sarbh. But amidst all the music and media chatter, one moment stole the spotlight and that's Nagarjuna's glowing praise for Rashmika.
Referring to her as a 'powerhouse of talent," the veteran star couldn't stop raving about her meteoric rise. 'This girl Rashmika is one powerhouse of talent. She has made a filmography in the last 3 years, which is outstanding. None of us have 2000-3000 crore collections, she is the one. She has beaten all of us," Nagarjuna said, drawing cheers from the crowd.
Rashmika, dressed in a chic outfit and radiating grace, responded with humility. 'I am happy where I am today. It's all because of the audience's love. Honestly, I have just started. I don't know what this whole number one situation is, because I am doing films both in Bollywood and South. I don't know what this race is about," she shared.

The event also saw Nagarjuna reflecting on his enduring love from audiences in the North. 'Right from my first film Shiva or Khuda Gawah to my dubbed films, all have been accepted so well in the North. I am filled with deep gratitude," he said warmly.
He didn't stop there. He went on to shower praise on his Kuberaa co-star Jim Sarbh, who plays the antagonist. 'I got to work with the great Jim Sarbh. He is outstanding as the villain. This man is impossible. He put me on my toes and was saying Telugu dialogues even better than me," Nagarjuna added, clearly impressed.
Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa promises to be an emotional and high-stakes drama. With a stellar cast and a powerful soundtrack, the film is all set to hit theatres on June 20 in multiple languages.

Housefull 5 box office collection day 6: Akshay Kumar can finally breathe easy, film crosses Jolly LLB 2, Holiday, Sky Force

The negative reviews of Tarun Mansukhani's whodunit comedy Housefull 5 seems to be catching up with its box office performance now. Six days into release, the film's daily earnings finally dropped to single digits. However, that hasn't stopped the film from passing three more of lead actor Akshay Kumar's Rs 100 crore club movies. On Wednesday, Housefull 5 earned Rs 8 crore at the domestic box office, which was quite a drop from its Tuesday earnings of Rs 11.25 crore, a further dip from its Monday collection of Rs 13 crore. Over the opening weekend, Housefull 5 earned Rs 24 crore, Rs 31 crore, Rs 32.5 crore on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively. As per Sacnilk, the current box office collection of Housefull 5 in India stands at Rs 119.75 crore. This has allowed it to cross the lifetime domestic earnings of three more Rs 100 crore grossers of Kumar — AR Murugadoss' 2014 action thriller Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (Rs 112.45 crore), Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani's action film Sky Force (Rs 112.75 crore), which released earlier this year, along with Subhash Kapoor's 2017 courtroom comedy Jolly LLB 2 (Rs 117 crore). It had already surpassed other Rs 100 crore club members like Sajid Khan's 2012 comedy Housefull 2 (Rs 106 crore), Sajid-Farhad's 2016 comedy Housefull 3 (Rs 109.14 crore), and Reema Kagti's 2018 period sports drama Gold (Rs 104.72 crore). Its next target is Tinu Suresh Desai's 2016 crime thriller Rustom (Rs 127.49 crore), for which Kumar also won a National Award. Housefull 5 is Kumar's 18th film to enter the Rs 100 crore club. Besides the above mentioned films, others include Prabhu Deva's 2012 action comedy Rowdy Rathore (Rs 133.25 crore), Raja Krishna Menon's 2016 political thriller Airlift (Rs 128.1 crore), Shree Narayan Singh's 2017 romantic comedy Toilet – Ek Prem Katha (Rs 134.22 crore), S Shankar's 2018 Tamil sci-fi fantasy 2.0 (Rs 189.55 crore), Jagan Shakti's 2019 workplace drama Mission Mangal (Rs 202.98 crore), Farhad Samji's 2019 comedy Housefull 4 (Rs 194.60 crore), and Raj Mehta's 2019 romantic comedy Good Newwz (Rs 205.14 crore). Housefull 5 has also benefitted from the two versions — A and B — that it's released in. The endings and killers are different in each version of the whodunit comedy. The ensemble cast also helps the film as it consists of franchise regulars like Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Jacqueline Fernandez, Chunky Panday, and Ranjit, along with new entrants like Dino Morea, Fardeen Khan, Chitrangda Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Nana Patekar, and Soundarya Sharma among others. Meanwhile, Housefull 5 is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, who has also written the story and screenplay.

‘I don't bother much before saying no': Kajol on turning down Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots

From redefining mainstream heroines in the 1990s to experimenting with her roles, Kajol has always been known for her boldness. However, in a recent promotional interview, the celebrated actress made a surprising confession: she once turned down 3 Idiots, a film that later became one of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema history. Speaking to Pinkvilla, Kajol was asked whether turning down major projects ever comes with regret. True to her no-nonsense style, she shared that saying no is never a struggle for her, not even for high-stakes films. Among those rejections? 3 Idiots, Rajkumar Hirani's cultural phenomenon that starred Aamir Khan , Kareena Kapoor, R Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi. The actress was offered the role of Pia, which later went to Kareena Kapoor Khan. Despite the film's staggering success, Kajol insisted she doesn't believe in looking back. She added that every film finds the actor it's meant for. 'I think that I've done very well for myself without them,' she added. Who else rejected Rajkumar Hirani's movie? Interestingly, Kajol wasn't the only A-lister who turned down the film. Shah Rukh Khan had also been approached to star in 3 Idiots but passed on it — a decision he later joked about on Koffee With Karan, calling himself the 'fourth idiot' for letting it go. Anushka Sharma , too, had auditioned for the project but didn't land the part. About 3 Idiots Ultimately, the 2009 blockbuster made history, becoming the first Indian film to cross Rs 300 crore at the domestic box office and earning a permanent place in pop culture with its satire on the education system and memorable catchphrases. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and co-written by Abhijat Joshi, the movie is based loosely on Chetan Bhagat's Five Point Someone. It starred Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Omi Vaidya, with Kareena Kapoor and Boman Irani in key roles. Fun fact: Aamir's character was inspired by innovator Sonam Wangchuk, and the film even features real-life Indian inventions. About Kajol's upcoming work Kajol, meanwhile, is ready to explore darker themes in Maa, a Vishal Furia directorial produced by Ajay Devgn and Kumar Mangat Pathak. Slated to release on June 27, the film is reportedly linked to the Shaitaan universe and marks a bold departure for the actress, who will be seen in a never-before-seen avatar. Kajol has worked with Aamir Khan in films like Fanaa and Ishq.
