Housefull 5 box office collection day 6: Akshay Kumar can finally breathe easy, film crosses Jolly LLB 2, Holiday, Sky Force
The negative reviews of Tarun Mansukhani's whodunit comedy Housefull 5 seems to be catching up with its box office performance now. Six days into release, the film's daily earnings finally dropped to single digits. However, that hasn't stopped the film from passing three more of lead actor Akshay Kumar's Rs 100 crore club movies. On Wednesday, Housefull 5 earned Rs 8 crore at the domestic box office, which was quite a drop from its Tuesday earnings of Rs 11.25 crore, a further dip from its Monday collection of Rs 13 crore. Over the opening weekend, Housefull 5 earned Rs 24 crore, Rs 31 crore, Rs 32.5 crore on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively.
As per Sacnilk, the current box office collection of Housefull 5 in India stands at Rs 119.75 crore. This has allowed it to cross the lifetime domestic earnings of three more Rs 100 crore grossers of Kumar — AR Murugadoss' 2014 action thriller Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (Rs 112.45 crore), Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani's action film Sky Force (Rs 112.75 crore), which released earlier this year, along with Subhash Kapoor's 2017 courtroom comedy Jolly LLB 2 (Rs 117 crore).
It had already surpassed other Rs 100 crore club members like Sajid Khan's 2012 comedy Housefull 2 (Rs 106 crore), Sajid-Farhad's 2016 comedy Housefull 3 (Rs 109.14 crore), and Reema Kagti's 2018 period sports drama Gold (Rs 104.72 crore). Its next target is Tinu Suresh Desai's 2016 crime thriller Rustom (Rs 127.49 crore), for which Kumar also won a National Award.
Housefull 5 is Kumar's 18th film to enter the Rs 100 crore club. Besides the above mentioned films, others include Prabhu Deva's 2012 action comedy Rowdy Rathore (Rs 133.25 crore), Raja Krishna Menon's 2016 political thriller Airlift (Rs 128.1 crore), Shree Narayan Singh's 2017 romantic comedy Toilet – Ek Prem Katha (Rs 134.22 crore), S Shankar's 2018 Tamil sci-fi fantasy 2.0 (Rs 189.55 crore), Jagan Shakti's 2019 workplace drama Mission Mangal (Rs 202.98 crore), Farhad Samji's 2019 comedy Housefull 4 (Rs 194.60 crore), and Raj Mehta's 2019 romantic comedy Good Newwz (Rs 205.14 crore).
Housefull 5 has also benefitted from the two versions — A and B — that it's released in. The endings and killers are different in each version of the whodunit comedy. The ensemble cast also helps the film as it consists of franchise regulars like Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Jacqueline Fernandez, Chunky Panday, and Ranjit, along with new entrants like Dino Morea, Fardeen Khan, Chitrangda Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Nana Patekar, and Soundarya Sharma among others.

Housefull 5 is likely to continue to dominate the domestic box office given its next major competition comes only next week in the form of RS Prasanna's coming-of-age sports comedy Sitaare Zameen Par, headlined by Aamir Khan, which will release in cinemas next Friday on June 20. Meanwhile, Housefull 5 is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, who has also written the story and screenplay.

Ballerina box office prediction day 1: Ana de Armas, Keanu Reeves' John Wick spinoff may earn around Rs 8 crore in India
Ballerina box office prediction day 1: Ballerina, which hit the screens in India on June 13, has created a fair deal of buzz among fans with its stylish trailer. The fact that it is set in the same universe as Keanu Reeves' John Wick films too has added to the curiosity around it. These factors are likely to help it open to a good response at the Indian box office. Ballerina box office prediction day 1: A good star on the cards Ana de Armas is in the limelight because of her latest film Ballerina, which arrived in theatres in India today. According to Ramesh Bala, a trade analyst, the action thriller is set to collect between Rs 5 crore to Rs 8 crore on the first day. 'It is a spinoff of John Wick. Reeves' film is popular here. Therefore, I see it grossing between Rs 5 crore and 8 crore. It will do well in the South especially as it faces no competition,' he told Indiatimes. Ballerina is unlikely to face competition from Housefull 5, which was released last week, as both films cater to different audiences. The former is meant for an urban youth audience. The latter, on the other hand, caters more the family audiences. Thug Life too won't be a problem for Ballerina as it has failed to impress even Kamal Haasan's ardent fans. About Ballerina Ballerina is an action thriller directed by Len Wiseman. It revolves around the life of an assassin and is a sidequel to . John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. It stars Ana de Armas, Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedus, Keanu Reeves, and the late Lance Reddick.

'Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh' This courtroom drama is based on the book 'The Case That Shook the Empire' by Raghu and Pushpa Palat. The film follows C. Sankaran Nair, an Indian barrister and member of the Viceroy's Council, who was initially asked to investigate the Jallianwala Bagh massacre by the British. They expected Nair to make a report in their favor, but as the barrister unfolded one layer after another of the horrific incident, he decided to challenge the British Empire's narrative. There's also Regina Cassandra as Parvathy Nair, Sankaran's wife, Simon Paisley Day as General Reginald Dyer, Alexx O'Nell as Lord Chelmsford, Amit Sial as Tirath Singh, Mark Bennington as Michael O'Dwyer, and many other talented artists in pivotal roles. Kesari 2 Review: With a rating of 3.5 stars, the ETimes review of the movie states, "The tight narrative is anchored by Akshay Kumar, who shines as the brilliant and courageous Sankaran. R Madhavan is equally formidable, delivering a controlled yet intense performance. Ananya Panday, as Sankaran's co-counsel Dilreet Gill and a catalyst in the legal battle, is impactful. Her portrayal blends realism with nervousness as she takes on the mighty Empire, transforming from a hesitant first-timer in court to a fiery cross-examiner in a key sequence. "
