Mukesh Ambani's big move: Reliance buys stake in this company, the plan is to...
In a major development, Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL) has recently purchased a minority stake in FaceGym, a United Kingdom-based company. FaceGym, in the coming months, will introduce skincare brands in the Indian market. According to Reliance, this is part of its major plan to expand in the booming beauty and fitness sector. What Did Both The Companies Say?
As per Reliance's statement, FaceGym will enter the Indian market with the help of Reliance Retail's brand Tira. Tira will look after the UK-based company's local operations and market development. Notably, FaceGym will bring its innovative concept to the Indian market. The Ambani-led company said that it will establish the brand and also expand its presence in the country in the next five years. To achieve this goal, the company is planning to mix single studio, curated areas in select Tira stores in major cities. What Reliance Retail Is Planning?
Reliance Retail had recently stated that it is expanding its operations to a great extent, with plans to open more stores in order to expand its coverage area. The company has also witnessed a growth of 2.4 times in the number of orders from its Quick Commerce in the March quarter.
While revealing its quarterly figures earlier this week, Reliance Retail Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Dinesh Taluja stated that this reported growth is significant for the company. What Is Reliance's Hyper-Local Delivery?
Reliance offers hyper-local delivery in less the 30 minutes to as many as 4,000 pin codes across the country through its existing stores. Notably, the reach of Reliance's hyper-local delivery is far wider than any other quick commerce company. Reliance Retail's JioMart app provides customers with three options for quick and scheduled delivery.

Stalin-led DMK government is almost bankrupt due to poor policies, says Edappadi K. Palaniswami

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Monday claimed that the Stalin-led DMK Government, which was almost bankrupt due to its poor policies, was creating hurdles for giving loans to farmers by demanding unrealistic documents for sanctioning loans. Interacting with farmers and traders in Tirunelveli, he recalled that the erstwhile AIADMK government had twice waived off crop loans availed through cooperative banks and ensured disbursal of crop insurance benefits to the tune of ₹12,000 crore, the largest disbursal in the entire country, and gave ₹248 crore as drought relief. The party was taking every possible step to protect farmers and farming, he said. Recalling various programmes such as the 'Kudimaramathu scheme', construction of check-dams, and notification of the Cauvery Delta as a protected special agricultural zone during his regime, he alleged that the DMK government, which announced check-dams at a cost of ₹2,000 crore, had so far constructed only six of them. Mr. Palaniswami welcomed a suggestion by farmers' association representatives for opening direct paddy procurement centres in areas falling under city limits also. Secretary of Nellai Viyabaarigal Sangam M.R. Gunasekaran appealed to Mr Palaniswami to enact special law for protecting retail business and regularising online business. A representative of the Tamil Nadu Consumer Products Distributor Associations' Federation also said concrete measures should be taken by the governments to streamline online business, which was wiping out retail business and creating unemployment. Recalling the trader-friendly policies implemented by his erstwhile government, Mr. Palaniswami said: 'Since the Chief Minister should have a clear understanding about every issue, I used to take suggestions from officials through power-point presentations before attending meetings or Assembly sessions. But, it is not the case now. Problems are being created for traders.' Tamil Nadu Construction Workers Welfare Central Committee president S. Mahalingam said effective steps should be taken to control the skyrocketing prices of construction materials and the pension for construction workers should be raised to ₹3,000 a month from existing ₹1,200. The family pension should be increased to ₹1,000 a month and ₹2 lakh given for the natural death of construction workers.
