Former Packer Tom Brown dies at 84
The Packers announced on Monday that their former safety Tom Brown died on April 23 at the age of 84.
Brown was a 1963 second-round pick of the team and made his debut in 1964 after playing for baseball's Washington Senators in 1963. After one year as a reserve, Brown was a four-year starter for the Packers and he helped the team to three NFL championships over that run. The final two championships were capped by wins in the first two Super Bowls.
Vince Lombardi traded for Brown after becoming the head coach in Washington in 1969, but he only played one game for the team before needing shoulder surgery and he never played another down after being waived in 1970.
Brown had 13 interceptions, six fumble recoveries, and a fumble return for a touchdown during his NFL career.

Part of that will be focused on staying healthy. Coleman missed four games due to injuries last year. The other part, though, is with his consistency. The 22-year-old needs to be more consistent with catching the football (7% drop rate), and finding ways to get open. Coleman has all the tools to be successful with the Bills. It will be up to him, though, to see just how good he can be. And from his comments this week, it's clear that Coleman knows exactly what he needs to do. Four-time Pro Bowler," Fowler said. "The return to Cleveland's not totally off the table, from what I'm told, but probably unlikely because of their draft plans, they drafted multiple running backs. I'm told Houston could be one to watch here. They've been looking at that running back market, maybe adding somebody with Joe Mixon." Joining the Texans would be a very intriguing situation for Chubb. He would team up with Joe Mixon in the backfield. Both veteran running backs could help each other stay fresh and healthy. In the eight games that he played with the Browns last season, Chubb carried the football 102 times for 332 yards and three scores, averaging just 3.3 yards per carry. Those numbers are not what fans have become used to seeing. At 29 years old, there is still time for Chubb to get his career back on track. If he can land in the right situation, he could bounce back with a strong 2025 campaign. The Texans then went on to knock off the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs before being eliminated by the Kansas City Chiefs. Adding Chubb would give them another offensive weapon. For Chubb, it would give him a chance to play a key role while also competing for the playoffs.
