Editor's note: Here's a look at Saturday's full schedule with TV information. A group of college softball teams that began the day with national championship aspirations still intact, faint as they may have been, will see those dreams and their seasons come to an end Saturday. The 2025 NCAA Softball Tournament continues Saturday with a full slate of more than two dozen games, half of which are elimination contests in which teams that lost the previous day would exit the double-elimination tournament with a second defeat. Though favorites largely had their way with overpowered opponents, the first day of the tournament Friday produced some notable results that have some squads in surprising positions. Perhaps no game raised more eyebrows than LSU, the national No. 10 seed and a regional host, giving up a seventh-inning run to fall to Southeastern Louisiana 4-3. The Tigers will aim to stave off elimination Saturday against UConn. LSU was the only one of the 16 national seeds and regional hosts to lose Friday, with the top seven national seeds winning their opening games by a combined score of 81-3. That series of lopsided scores included No. 1 seed Texas A&M thumping Saint Francis 18-0 and No. 7 seed Tennessee blowing out Miami (Ohio) 17-0. We have reached the regional championship portion of the 2025 NCAA Softball Tournament. The field has dwindled from 64 teams to 32 entering play on Sunday, with 16 more teams facing the end of their seasons today. The 16 winners from today will advance to the super regional and continue on the road to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The 2025 tournament has featured a lot of parity, as a number of ranked teams are on the ropes entering the championship. Teams with the best odds to win the Women's College World Series

Teams with the best odds to win the Women's College World Series The start of the 2025 NCAA Softball Tournament is here, with the regional round starting across the country on Friday. The FSU Seminoles are the No. 5 overall seed in the tournament and are hosting the Tallahassee Regional for the 11th straight season. They are looking to make a return to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, but will face some tough competition to make it happen. First, they will have the win their regional over the Auburn Tigers, USF Bulls, and Robert Morris Colonials. The double-elimination tournament will start on Friday and last until Sunday. The winner of that will then advance to the super regionals, where they will face the winner of the Lubbock Regional, which includes the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Washington Huskies, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and Brown Bears. The two winners will play a best-of-three series with the winner advancing to the WCWS and a shot at the national championship. McEnroe-Marinas captains Oklahoma into NCAA Tournament

The road to Oklahoma City and the NCAA Softball Championship officially begins this week, and the Aloha State will be well represented. Nine players from Hawaii high schools across eight collegiate programs are set to compete in the regional round of the NCAA Tournament. Among them, two standouts Maryknoll graduate Nelly McEnroe-Marinas and 'Iolani alum Ailana Agbayani are suiting up for top-ranked Oklahoma, the four-time defending national champions. Oklahoma is the only school in the tournament featuring multiple players from Hawaii. And for McEnroe-Marinas, her redshirt freshman campaign has been nothing short of remarkable. After bouncing back from injury, she was named a team captain, an uncommon honor for an underclassman. She enters the postseason batting .345 with 14 home runs. 'It's a blessing,' McEnroe-Marinas said. 'I'm just so grateful for all the things that I went through and all the things that I've learned from the past captains. Just being able to soak all of that in is a huge honor. But definitely with this team, I'm not doing anything alone.' Asked how her upbringing helped shape her leadership style, McEnroe-Marinas credited her island roots. 'The Hawaiian culture is unmatched. I think it's a big reason why I got picked to be a captain in the first place,' she said. 'Being able to grow up in that environment and bring that environment here to Oklahoma and spread the aloha. It's just amazing.' Agbayani, a junior transfer from BYU, has made an immediate impact, batting .331 with 31 RBIs this season. Together, the duo brings island flair and culture to Norman, something McEnroe-Marinas says their teammates appreciate. 'In our BP sessions, we're the only ones vibing out to reggae,' she joked. 'I love having Ailana on this team. We never had the opportunity to be teammates growing up, and now we do, it's insane.' In addition to the Sooners' duo, seven more Hawaii high school graduates are featured on tournament rosters: 2025 NCAA Softball Tournament – Hawaii High School Graduates • Oregon: Braiesey Rosa (Waianae) – Sophomore Catcher • San Diego State: Quinn Waiki (Campbell) – Freshman Infielder • Arizona: Jenna Sniffen (Maryknoll) – Freshman Infielder • Santa Clara: Cairah Curran (Campbell) – Sophomore IF/OF • Grand Canyon: Lovey Kepa'a (Leilehua) – Senior Infielder • Georgia: Mua Williams (Kamehameha) – Freshman Utility • Howard: Kenna Higa (Kamehameha) – Senior 1B/3B • Oklahoma: Nelly McEnroe-Marinas (Maryknoll) – Freshman Infielder Ailana Agbayani ('Iolani) – Junior Second Baseman Top-seeded Oklahoma opens tournament play on Friday against Boston.
