Athlete of the week: Brooke Reaves
Congratulations to Jacksboro's Brooke Reaves on earning our honor as athlete of the week!In a regional semifinal series win over Muleshoe, Reaves had a pair of hits, a run scored and a run batted in. Obviously that wasn't the impressive her performance in the circle game two, Reaves tossed a complete game two-hitter with 17 strikeouts helping the Tigerettes advancing to the regional finals. As part of earning our athlete of the week honor, Brooke Reaves will be featured on the digital billboard on Lawrence Road in Wichita Falls this also becomes eligible to win a scholarship courtesy of United Regional Orthopedics at the 2025 Nexstar Sports Awards in July. We head to Holliday this week to find our athlete of the week, as Lady Eagle Sammi Kirkland excels in two the diamond she hit .875 from the leadoff spot, scoring six runs, driving in six more and stealing seven bases in a pair of district also found success on the track, helping three relay teams win area championships. Athlete of the week: Seth Bearden
Midwestern State men's golfer Seth Bearden is having a great 2025 campaign, with three individual tournament victories this season. The most recent coming at the Oak Tree Invitational. Last week in Edmond, Oklahoma Bearden shot rounds of 70, 68 and 71 to earn the win by four strokes over the nearest competitor in the field. Seth's season stroke average is 71.4, owning 12 rounds of even par or better and seven rounds in the 60's.
