OKC Thunder sign Malevy Leons to training camp deal
The Oklahoma City Thunder have signed Malevy Leons to an Exhibit-10 training camp deal. The 25-year-old will join the NBA champion for another preseason slate as he enters his second year with the organization. Leons hopes to land the third two-way deal eventually. That remains vacant and the only roster spot open. The other two two-way players are Brooks Barnhizer and Branden Carlson. Leons has spent the last year with the Thunder. He went undrafted in 2024 after he spent three college seasons at Bradley. In his first season, Leons was signed to a standard contract on Oct. 31 by the Thunder. He was waived a couple of weeks later. He appeared in six games in his rookie season. It was a cup of coffee with the NBA squad as he spent most of the season on the G League's OKC Blue. Leons averaged 10.5 points on 48.9% shooting, 7.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 47 G League games last season. Leons has a decent frame at 6-foot-9, 205 pounds. He was added to the Thunder's 2025 Summer League squad, where he was a starter for most of the two-week event. He showed flashes of his length and has intriguing physical tools worth bringing back for another season.

Ajay Mitchell named to 2025 Summer League Second Team
Now that the 2025 Summer League is in the books, the NBA announced its award winners for the 10-day event. Every July, the league migrates to Las Vegas for nearly two weeks to see the top rookies and young players suit up for their teams. Fresh off an NBA championship, the Oklahoma City Thunder had a couple of notable names on their roster. Ajay Mitchell was one as the 23-year-old was their best player. He was named to the 2025 Summer League Second Team. Mitchell averaged 20 points on 51.4% shooting, six rebounds and 4.3 assists in three games. Only his Las Vegas performances factored into this accolade. The Thunder also participated in Utah's four-team Summer League. The other Summer League Second Team members were Kon Knueppel, Ron Holland II, KJ Simpson and Isaac Jones. The Summer League First Team members were SL MVP Kyle Filipowski, Terrence Shannon Jr., Jordan Miller, Nique Clifford and David Jones-Garcia. The Thunder hope Mitchell can carry his momentum into the 2025-26 season. He had a productive rookie year before a toe injury sidelined him for three months. He has a real shot to win the backup point guard spot and help navigate the bench lineups.

Rockets 104, Wolves 101: As summer league ends, two-way wing Kevon Harris sparks first win
Two-way guard Kevon Harris (18 points, 6 assists, 4 steals) was excellent versus Minnesota as Houston secured its first summer-league win of 2025. The Houston Rockets wrapped up their stint at the NBA's 2025 summer league with Saturday's 104-101 victory (box score) over the Minnesota Timberwolves. It was the first summer-league loss for Minnesota (4-1) and the initial win for Houston (1-4). Heading into Las Vegas, the Timberwolves' summer roster featured more players with either proven NBA experience or perceived upside. Making matters worse, Houston was again short-handed, with second-year guard Reed Sheppard and two-way center N'Faly Dante sidelined by minor injuries. Yet, led by a strong showing from two-way guard Kevon Harris, the remaining Rockets fought back from a 17-point deficit to eventually grab a feel-good victory. From Saturday's game, statistical lines of note included: Houston's aggressive defense forced Minnesota into 22 turnovers for the game, with 11 of those coming on steals by Harris, Wilson, and Arms. Statistical averages for the entirety of summer league are available here. Game Highlights Rockets' 2025 Summer League Results What's Next Training camps for the 2025-26 NBA season opens around October 1.
