After Katy Perry came onto the A-list scene, she's been linked to some A-list stars, including some very unexpected ones. While we all know about her brief marriage to Russell Brand and her nine-year relationship with actor Orlando Bloom, did you know about her years-long relationships with other musicians and actors? Perry's relationship timeline is quite wild, full of twists, turns, and a whole lot of engagement rumors. Most recently, Perry has sparked romance rumors with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and it has everyone talking. But as we said, this isn't the first unexpected romance she's found herself in. And while she's had quite a few high-profile romances, she does try hard to keep it under wraps. In fact, she even told Billboard in 2015: 'In all my relationships, I've learned how I have to be more careful and that it's not up for public consumption.' It was all obtained in a video through TMZ, which shows the pair in a thoughtful, deep conversation at the swanky Le Violon restaurant in Montreal. He was later seen at one of her concerts, and everyone is wondering how this relationship will go. Orlando Bloom (2016-2025) Orlando Bloom and Perry met back in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty, and within a few months, they started dating. They confirmed their romance in May 2016 with a now-archived Instagram post. However, within less than a year, they actually split up. Perry was reportedly the one to end it, and their reps confirmed the split to People. 'Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time,' they said. 'It was a few events that happened over the past few months. They both still love each other very much, though, and getting back together could happen once they have some space.' But their breakup didn't last long either because they were spotted together in the summer of 2017, and then got back together by Jan 2018. After that, they got engaged on Valentine's Day 2019. In March 2020, they announced they were expecting a child in Perry's music video for her song 'Never Worn White.' Then, on Aug. 27, 2020, they welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove Bloom into the world. However, they broke up after nine years together in 2025. Diplo (2014) Diplo and Perry sparked romance rumors after getting cozy together a lot in 2014. It was confirmed, but didn't last long at all. When James Corden appeared as a special guest on Perry's four-day Witness World Wide YouTube live stream, he asked her to rank three of her exes in bed, and ranked Diplo as number three (With Bloom as number two and Mayer as number one), per EOnline. Riff Raff (2014) So, this one is a bit confusing. As many know, Perry and Riff Raff attended the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards together in matching denim looks, but was it anything more? Perry did confirm in 2015 through Instagram that they went on a date the year prior. Then, he told TMZ via AZ Central, 'Who knows where things might go. Just got to see where things lead.' So it just seems to have been one date! Robert Ackroyd (2012, 2014) Robert Ackroyd, guitarist for Florence and the Machine, and Perry first started dating back in 2012 sometime around the Coachella Music Festival in April. 'It wasn't serious,' a source told E! News said of the couple when they split up sometime in June 2012. 'She likes him a lot, but it was just a distraction. It was very short-lived, she's still dealing with getting over her marriage [to Russell Brand] and it's going to take her a while to truly be able to trust anyone again.' They sparked reconciliation rumors in 2014 after eyewitnesses claimed to have seen them making out at a party, but nothing transpired, per E! News. John Mayer (2012-2015) As many know, Perry and John Mayer had an on-again, off-again relationship from 2012 to 2015. They first met in September 2009, chatting over drinks at a Jay-Z aftershow, per EOnline. They were pals for a while but it didn't get romantic until after her divorce from Brand; and it started with them as pen pals. (However, per Today, he tried to woo her in 2010!) The romance rumors started in 2010 when Mayer and Perry were spotted dining at the Chateau Marmont. However, the lovey-dovey stage didn't last long. They broke up and got back together once in 2013, twice in 2014, before splitting up for good in 2015. He confirmed having written the song 'Still Feel Like Your Man' about their relationship. Perry, on the other hand, allegedly wrote a song about them during the early stages of their romance called 'Legendary Lovers' from her album Prism. Russell Brand (2009-2011) Despite popular belief, Perry and Russell Brand didn't first meet at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, they met the year prior when Perry was asked to film a brief cameo for his film Get Him to the Greek. Their romance started in 2009, and within four months, they announced their engagement, which reportedly occurred in Jaipur, India. They married in Oct 2010 in a traditional Hindu ceremony. They split up in Dec 2011 when he texted her he wanted a divorce while she was on tour. Perry told Vogue in 2013, 'At first when I met him, he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal and they're like, 'I can't handle the equalness.' He didn't like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour. So that was really hurtful, and it was very controlling, which was upsetting. Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011.' Josh Groban (2009) After splitting up with McCoy, Perry had a fling with fellow singer (and later pal) Josh Groban. While neither confirmed it at the time, Perry sparked a lot of speculation after she posted a photo of a temporary tattoo of his name on the upper part of the left breast. Despite denying the speculation for years, Groban did finally admit they dated on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in 2018: 'We did [date]. We were both very private, and so we realized we were better as friends. And we've been very, very good friends to this day.' James Valentine (2009) While neither the Maroon 5 guitarist or Perry commented on it, one of their mutual pals did. Truth & Salvage Co. frontman Tim Jones said to Blast Magazine in 2010 that the pair dated. 'She was dating my friend, James Valentine, who plays guitar in Maroon 5,' he said. 'We were up at his house one night, and she was asleep. He had a piano there, and it was late. I started playing and working on a song.' Travie McCoy (2007-2008) Travie McCoy of Gym Class Heroes were together from 2007 to late 2008., and most notably, she appeared in his band's music video for 'Cupid's Chokehold.' Not only that, but they decided to pull a fake marriage prank on their family. She told PopEater via People: 'We took all the pictures with the minister, with the fake cake, in the fake chapel and got a fake marriage certificate. We went and bought a wedding dress and a suit at a thrift store, and scanned the pictures and the certificate to my family members, my manager at the time [and] totally freaked the s— out of them.' McCoy posted on his blog confirming their split on New Year's, per Billboard. Not only did Perry end the relationship, but McCoy claimed to Yahoo UK that she ended it over email. 'It started off with 'I love you so much I hate to do this,'' he said about the email, noting his drug addiction at the time may have heavily contributed to the split. 'It destroyed me.' It's heavily believed that Perry's song 'Circle The Drain,' is about their romance, with lyrics like 'Can't be your savior, I don't have the power/ I'm not gonna stay and watch you circle the drain.' Johnny Lewis (2005-2006) Actor Johnny Lewis, known for his roles in Sons of Anarchy and The Runaways, was Perry's boyfriend from 2005 to 2006. Not much is known about their romance, but we do know they broke up so Perry could focus on her career. It's heavily speculated that her hit song, 'The One That Got Away,' is at least partially inspired by him. However, in 2012, at the age of 28, police were called on him after it was said he violently attacked two people at the property next door. He ended up killing his 81-year-old landlady, her cat, and then fell off the roof to his death, per AP News. Matthew Thiessen Matthew Thiessen of Reliant K and Perry dated from 2003 to 2005, also working as songwriting collaborators. According to 94.9 HOM, some songs on Perry's first album are allegedly about Thiessen, including 'Thinking of You,' a song about a woman torn between two lovers, and 'I'm Still Breathing,' which is a song about ending a toxic relationship. Not much is known about their romance, but Thiessen did say to in 2012: 'I used to date her back in the day for a couple of years. But we're still really good friends. We're not too close, but yeah, she's a great person.' Justin York (2002-2005) Justin York, younger brother of Paramore member Taylor York, and Katy Perry dated from 2002 to 2005. Jeff Bezos and enjoyed an A-list double date on Sunday as they welcomed Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti aboard their $485m superyacht, Koru. Leo, 50, and Vittoria, 27, know their way around the ship, having previously joined the couple for a trip last summer in Sardinia. This time, however, the quartet were living it up in Ibiza, Spain. They were casually clad for the day at sea, with Leo wearing a plain white T-shirt and shorts, as well as his trademark baseball cap and shades. Vittoria, meanwhile, opted for a blue strapless top paired with baggy pants. Jeff, 61, and his new wife Lauren, 55, looked in good spirits as they gave Leo and Vittoria a warm welcome. Lauren opted for clashing prints, layering a printed kimono over a bikini, while Jeff matched tropical swimming trunks with a navy T-shirt. The double date comes just weeks after the Amazon founder and presenter tied the knot in Venice - with the ceremony attracting criticism for its extravagance. Leonardo and Vittoria were among the A-list guests which also included Sydney Sweeney, Oprah Winfrey and Orlando Bloom. However, Leonardo - who is known for his environmental advocacy - was branded a 'hypocrite' for flying to Venice for the ceremony. The actor has previously been open about his activism and a few months earlier in March, he had slammed the Albanese government for giving the green light to a mine expansion in Western Australia. Yet social media users called him out for flying to the wedding and criticized him for supporting Jeff amid Amazon's substantial carbon footprint. According to The Guardian, over 90 jets flew into the airport in the romantic city as celebrities attended the nuptials. Feeling's neutral: Leo opted for a classic summer combo of white T-shirt and gray shorts Jeff's superyacht is named Koru, which translates to 'new beginnings' in Maori, according to The Independent. The Amazon founder initially commissioned the construction of the vessel for $485million in 2018, and it took almost five years to build. It has three decks and is 250ft tall. When commissioned, the yacht was the second-largest sailing yacht in the world.
