Man's negligence injures girl, obligated to pay compensation of Dhs20,000 to her parent
Al Ain Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Cases Court has ordered a man to pay Dhs20,000 in compensation to a parent after the man's negligence caused injuries to the parent's daughter. The incident occurred when the man failed to reduce his vehicle's speed near a pedestrian crossing, resulting in a hit-and-run accident which resulted in injuring the girl and damaging of her electric scooter. The parent filed a lawsuit demanding Dhs45,000 in compensation, along with court fees and expenses, saying that the suspect was previously convicted in a criminal case for the incident. The plaintiff submitted evidence, including a copy of the criminal judgment and a certificate confirming the judgment was not appealed. The appellee filed a memorandum requesting the inclusion of the insurance company in the case and the dismissal of the lawsuit. The court noted that the appellee was convicted in a criminal case for endangering the girl's physical safety and damaging her electric scooter due to negligence. The court then ordered the appellee to pay Dhs20,000 to the plaintiff as compensation for all damages incurred by the girl.

Man defames a store on social media, Al Ain court orders him to pay Dhs70,000 to store's owner
Al Ain Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Cases Court has ordered a man to pay Dhs70,000 in compensation to another after defaming the latter's store by publishing harmful statements about it on social media and other digital platforms. The case began when the plaintiff filed a lawsuit demanding Dhs200,000 in compensation for material and moral damages caused by the appellee's actions, which were previously proved in a criminal case upheld on appeal. The plaintiff argued that the defamatory statements led to significant harm and losses to his store. The court affirmed that the appellee's wrongdoing was established and resulted in damage to the store. Consequently, the court ordered the appellee to pay Dhs70,000 in compensation to the store owner.
