Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain has granted the Italian Republic partnership status for sea-air freight services, announced during the official visit of Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic. According to Bahrain News Agency, the announcement reflects a shared commitment to enhancing economic and trade relations between Bahrain and Italy. This partnership aims to support collaboration across various sectors and attract high-value investments, thereby developing their economic and trade partnership. Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, highlighted the importance of enhancing Bahrain-Italy relations, particularly in global freight services. He emphasized the commitment to developing bilateral cooperation to benefit both nations. Minister Fakhro noted that this partnership will enable Italian companies to obtain official certification as authorized operators of sea-air freight services. This initiative is part of Bahrain's efforts to establish partnerships with other countries, allowing companies based in these nations to apply for certification and benefit from exclusive advantages as operators of this service. Bahrain launched the Global Sea-Air Hub in 2021 to enhance the integration between Khalifa Bin Salman Port and Bahrain International Airport, offering faster and more cost-effective services compared to standalone sea or air freight.

Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain has granted the Italian Republic sovereignty over subscriber data hosted in Bahrain's cloud computing centres, it has been announced during the official visit of Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic. According to Bahrain News Agency, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, CEO of the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), highlighted the importance of developing Bahrain-Italy relations across various sectors. He emphasised Bahrain's commitment to expanding cooperation with Italy to achieve shared goals, exchange expertise, and enhance the development of digital infrastructure. Al Qaed noted that this decision aligns with Decree-Law (56) of 2018 regarding the provision of cloud computing services to foreign entities and related ministerial decisions. He noted that the move reflects ongoing collaboration between Bahrain and Italy in digital transformation and expertise exchange. He also underlined the commitment of both countries to further enhancing bilateral relations and advancing shared objectives. Al Qaed said Bahrain remains dedicated to supporting knowledge exchange in the ICT sector, contributing to the development of digital infrastructure and supporting the Kingdom's economic growth and development.
