Cabinet approves mural art work on ISBT walls at Badrinath
Dehradun: The Uttarakhand cabinet on Wednesday approved mural artwork on the walls of the ISBT at Badrinath dham as part of the ongoing master plan for the area's overall development. Director general of information Bansidhar Tiwari said, "Large-scale work is being carried out at Badrinath dham. As part of the master plan, the state cabinet has also approved mural artwork on the boundary walls of the dham." Earlier, the state govt had announced a Rs 424 crore plan aimed at upgrading infrastructure and facilities in the pilgrimage town. At its June 4 meeting, the cabinet approved four new projects for Badrinath. These include permission for Sudarshan Chakra and Sheshnetra Lotus-themed murals at key locations such as the Arrival Plaza and Lakefront. Additionally, the cabinet gave the green light for the construction and installation of a Tree and River Sculpture at Badrinarayan Chowk. Mussoorie Dehradun development body to identify land bank for residential projects
DEHRADUN : In the 111th board meeting of the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority ( MDDA ) held on Thursday, the civic body decided to identify a land bank for upcoming residential projects. This move was prompted by the rising population density and the success of previous initiatives such as the ISBT and Aamwala Tarla residential schemes. Over 75 proposals were presented to the board, the majority of which concerned commercial construction, including hotels, eco-resorts, and residential map issues. "A budget of Rs 1,000 crore was proposed for the financial year 2025-26," said VC Bansidhar Tiwari . Additionally, the authority resolved to secure land specifically for new residential developments to address the growing demand for affordable housing, particularly for populations displaced by encroachment drives. The meeting also reviewed ongoing MDDA projects, including the Arhat market relocation and the ISBT takeover. The board also approved land pooling initiatives to support the establishment of IT companies and boost industrial growth.

Helicopter services for Char Dham Yatra running smoothly: Uttarakhand Govt
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], May 10 (ANI): The helicopter services for the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand have resumed and are running smoothly, the Uttarakhand government said on Saturday. State Director General of Information, Bansidhar Tiwari, told ANI that the services to the four Dhams, including Badrinath and Kedarnath, are operational from all helipads, including the Sahastradhara helipad in Dehradun. In a post on X, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand is proceeding smoothly, with over 4 lakh devotees having visited the sacred shrines so far. 'Dear Devotees, Chardham Yatra is being conducted smoothly in the state. So far, more than 4 lakh devotees have visited the Dhams. Heli services for Shri Kedarnath Dham are also fully operational. You are requested not to pay attention to any kind of rumour,' he wrote on X. 'The state government is constantly trying to make your travel experience safe and smooth. The Char Dham Yatra 2025 officially began on April 30 with the opening of the Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham on Akshaya Tritiya amid Vedic chants and rituals. The doors of Kedarnath Dham were opened on May 2, and those of Badrinath on May 4. Earlier on Tuesday, a 24-hour ban was enforced on the usage of horses and mules in the Kedarnath Yatra, an official said on Monday. The administration took the following reported deaths of some horses and mules here. 'Yesterday, eight horses and mules died, while today, six of them died.
