Luke Evans Joins Movie "Bear Country"
Yara Sameh Luke Evans (Beauty And The Beast), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), and Daniel Zovatto (Woman of the Hour) have joined Russell Crowe in action-thriller "Bear Country", helmed by Derrick Borte (Unhinged). Nina Dobrev and Teresa Palmer also star in the ensemble movie which is filming in Australia. "Bear Country" follows an ageing but formidable club owner, Manco Kapak (Crowe) who has been robbed by a masked gunman. Now, his aspirations of selling his club and riding off into the sunset alongside his girlfriend appear more distant than ever. Cartel bosses are breathing down his neck and a young upstart has been posing as the new guy in town eager to purchase the club. Evans will play Joe Carver, an undercover federal agent posing as a potential buyer for Kapak's club in hopes of infiltrating the cartel he's washing money for. Paul will play Jeff, an unassuming community college teacher who gets roped into a dirty cop's robbery scheme. Zovatto will play Rodriguez, the cartel's top man in Los Angeles. "Bear Country" is produced by Mark Fasano (Marlow) of Nickel City Pictures, Jeffrey Greenstein (The Hitman's Bodyguard) of A Higher Standard, Deborah Glover (Sleeping Dogs) of G2 Dispatch, and Mark Bower and Bruno Mustic of Life & Soul Pictures.

Teresa Palmer and Liam Neeson set to star in a new dark comedy '4 Kids Walk Into A Bank'
Teresa Palmer has joined the cast of 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank, a dark comedy directed by Frankie Shaw for Amazon MGM's Orion label. The film, which began production in December in Ireland, also stars Liam Neeson, Talia Ryder, Whitney Peak, Jack Dylan Grazer, and others. Neeson plays Danny, a retired bank robber whose teenage granddaughter, Paige (Ryder), overhears that his former gang wants him back for one final heist to settle a debt. In a bid to protect him, Paige recruits her three best friends to rob the bank a day earlier, setting off a chaotic series of events. Palmer portrays the bank manager and becomes romantically involved with one of the robbers. The film is based on the graphic novel by Matthew Rosenberg and Tyler Boss, and is adapted by Matt Robinson. Production companies involved in the project include Picturestart, Miramax, Point Grey, Black Mask Studios, and Uncle Pete Productions, with FilmNation handling international sales. Palmer, known for her roles in Warm Bodies and A Discovery of Witches, has been busy with several other upcoming projects aswell. She also recently joined the Russell Crowe action film Bear Country and will star in the drama series The Family Next Door and The Last Anniversary. Additionally, she appeared in the rom-com Addition, which premiered at TIFF, and in David Leitch's The Fall Guy. Palmer is represented by CAA, Entertainment 360, Shanahan Management, and Sloane Offer Weber & Dern.

Teresa Palmer, Russell Crowe, and Nina Dobrev team up for ‘Bear Country'
Teresa Palmer has officially joined the cast of the upcoming action-thriller Bear Country, starring alongside Russell Crowe and Nina Dobrev. Directed by Derrick Borte, the film is currently in production in Australia. Palmer, known for Warm Bodies and A Discovery of Witches, plays the female lead, Sunny, the razor-sharp girlfriend of Manco Kapak (Crowe), an aging but formidable club owner. Kapak's plans to sell his club and retire take a hit when a masked gunman robs him, forcing him into a dangerous pursuit. The film also features Kartiah Vergara in a key role. Bear Country is based on Strip, a novel by Thomas Perry, with a screenplay by Borte and Daniel Forte (American Dreamer). Production is backed by Nickel City Pictures, A Higher Standard, G2 Dispatch, and Life & Soul Pictures. Palmer's upcoming projects include the limited series The Family Next Door and the drama series The Last Anniversary, based on Liane Moriarty's novel and executive-produced by Nicole Kidman. She recently starred in the rom-com Addition, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, and David Leitch's The Fall Guy. Over the weekend, Palmer received the Excellence in Film & Television Award at the 2025 G'Day USA Arts Gala, honoring Australian talent in the U.S. She is represented by CAA, Entertainment 360, Shanahan Management, and Sloane Offer.

Nina Dobrev Joins Movie "Bear Country"
Nina Dobrev is set to join Russell Crowe and Kartiah Vergara in "Bear Country", the action thriller helmed by Derrick Borte that's currently shooting in the Australian state of Queensland. An adaptation of the novel Strip by Thomas Perry, "Bear Country" stars Crowe as the aging yet formidable club owner, Manco Kapak, who has been robbed by a masked gunman. Now, his aspirations of selling his club and riding off into the sunset alongside his girlfriend appear more distant than ever. Cartel bosses are breathing down his neck and a young upstart has been posing as the new guy in town eager to purchase the club. Dobrev plays a quirky bank teller who gets involved in crimes inspired by her Bonnie-and-Clyde-like fantasies. Borte adapted the screenplay with Daniel Forte. Producers include Mark Fasano (Marlowe) of Nickel City Pictures; Jeffrey Greenstein (The Hitman's Bodyguard) of A Higher Standard; Deborah Glover (Sleeping Dogs) of G2 Dispatch; and Mark Bower and Bruno Mustic of Life & Soul Pictures. The adaptation is supported by the City of Gold Coast and by the Australian Government through the Location Offset. Dobrev recently starred in the action thriller "The Bricklayer" opposite Aaron Eckhart, the Netflix action comedy "The Out-Laws", produced by Adam Sandler, and the romantic comedy "Love Hard", which debuted as the #1 film in the world on Netflix. She also starred in and exec produced "Sick Girl" and played a lead in "Run This Town" opposite Ben Platt. Her previous work also includes "Flatliners" for Sony and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower", directed by Stephen Chbosky.
