Luke Evans (Beauty And The Beast), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), and Daniel Zovatto (Woman of the Hour) have joined Russell Crowe in action-thriller "Bear Country", helmed by Derrick Borte (Unhinged).
Nina Dobrev and Teresa Palmer also star in the ensemble movie which is filming in Australia.
"Bear Country" follows an ageing but formidable club owner, Manco Kapak (Crowe) who has been robbed by a masked gunman. Now, his aspirations of selling his club and riding off into the sunset alongside his girlfriend appear more distant than ever. Cartel bosses are breathing down his neck and a young upstart has been posing as the new guy in town eager to purchase the club.
Evans will play Joe Carver, an undercover federal agent posing as a potential buyer for Kapak's club in hopes of infiltrating the cartel he's washing money for.
Paul will play Jeff, an unassuming community college teacher who gets roped into a dirty cop's robbery scheme. Zovatto will play Rodriguez, the cartel's top man in Los Angeles.
"Bear Country" is produced by Mark Fasano (Marlow) of Nickel City Pictures, Jeffrey Greenstein (The Hitman's Bodyguard) of A Higher Standard, Deborah Glover (Sleeping Dogs) of G2 Dispatch, and Mark Bower and Bruno Mustic of Life & Soul Pictures.

Disney, Webtoon Ink Deal to Bring 100 Marvel, Star Wars & More Titles to Webcomics App

Yara Sameh Spider-Man, Captain America, Darth Vader, Beauty and the Beast, and more from Disney's intellectual-property treasure chest are coming to Webtoon — with about 100 titles from the Mouse House to hit the popular webcomics app in the next years. The deal between Webtoon Entertainment and Disney spans webcomics featuring iconic characters from Disney, Marvel, 20th Century Studios, and Star Wars. Those will include existing comics and graphic novels from Disney's catalog reformatted for Webtoon's vertical-scroll app, in addition to all-new original titles that are currently in development. The Disney webcomics will be available in a dedicated section of the Webtoon English-language app. Globally, Webtoon has around 155 million monthly active users. Financial terms of the multiyear deal aren't being disclosed. "The Webtoon pact is one of the biggest we have ever done,' said Daniel Fink, senior VP, head of digital innovation at Disney Consumer Products. The first Disney-owned webcomic to debut will be the Amazing Spider-Man later in August. It will be followed by Marvel's Avengers, Star Wars, Alien and 'As Old as Time: A Twisted Tale' (with Belle and the Beast). Webtoon will be promoting the new Disney partnership at New York Comic Con, which runs October 9-12. In Webtoon's freemium model, the first few episodes of a webcomic are free to read; to get full access, users must purchase in-app 'coins' and redeem them for premium purchases. At press time, the pricing of the Disney comics on Webtoon was not available. The launch of Disney comics on Webtoon comes after the companies had been in talks for about a year. Fink pointed out that webcomics readership has grown dramatically in recent years and has attracted 'people who are not traditional comics readers.' Webtoon's base of millions of monthly active users for its English-language app was appealing to Disney, and Fink sees the deal as bolstering its reach internationally and with Gen Z audiences. 'We have such amazing stories at Disney and Marvel, and we want our stories to reach as many as people as possible,' Fink added. Both Disney and Webtoon say none of the webcomics produced under their deal will use AI technology. 'It's all traditional creative,' continued Fink. The new webcomics will be produced by Webtoon with Disney's approval, but the companies aren't sharing what characters will be in the mix except to say the titles will range 'from superhero epics to galaxy-spanning adventures.' Disney talked to multiple players in the webcomics space and 'we saw that Webtoon was the clear leader,' according to Fink. In addition, Webtoon Entertainment is based in L.A. (while its parent company, Naver Corp., is based in South Korea). 'Big picture, it was a pretty easy decision,' Fink noted. Disney joined Webtoon's roster of other content partners, which includes Warner Bros. Discovery's DC Comics, Discord and K-pop giant HYBE. For Webtoon's part, the company saw a huge opportunity to team with Disney, whose brands are 'among the most legendary, creative and successful in the industry,' said Yongsoo Kim, chief strategy officer and head of global at Webtoon. 'We believe teaming up together is mutually beneficial.' Webtoon Entertainment's brands and platforms, in addition to the Webtoon app, include user-generated fiction app Wattpad, Webtoon Productions, Studio N, Studio LICO, Webtoon Unscrolled, Line Manga and eBookJapan. In June 2024, Webtoon Entertainment went public with an IPO on the Nasdaq exchange. For 2024, the company reported $1.35 billion in revenue (up 5.1%) and a net loss of $152.9 million (versus a net loss of $144.8 million the year prior). Between 2017 and 2023, the company says, it paid out $2.8 billion to creators, with the top 100 creators earning more than $1 million and overall creators were paid an average of $48,000. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani

"Harry Potter" Stars Emma Watson and Zoë Wanamaker Hit with 6-Month Driving Ban

Yara Sameh Emma Watson has been banned from driving in the UK for six months. The actress, best known for her work in "Harry Potter" and "Beauty and the Beast", drove an Audi at 38mph in a 30mph zone in Oxford during an outing in July 2024. Watson has been banned from driving after accumulating more than nine penalty points on her driving license. High Wycombe Magistrates' Court also ordered her to pay a fine of £1,044 ($1,405). According to the BBC, Watson's attorney, Mark Haslam, told High Wycombe Magistrates' Court that his client was 'in a position to pay the fine.' The 35-year-old actress did not attend the short hearing. She is currently studying as a student at the University of Oxford, taking a break from her acting career. Her rep has been contacted. In a strange twist, Watson's "Harry Potter" co-star Zoë Wanamaker was also banned from driving by the same court that day. The actress, who played Madam Hooch, was caught driving at 46mph in a 40mph zone last August. She was also fined £1,044 and will be prevented from driving for six months. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream

"Mayfair Witches" Renewed for Season 3

Yara Sameh AMC and its sibling streamer AMC+, have picked up a third season of "Mayfair Witches", which is part of its Anne Rice universe. Along with the renewal, the cable network announced that "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul" alum Thomas Schnauz is joining the series as co-showrunner alongside Esta Spalding. Season three will be set in Salem, Massachusetts — where the infamous witch trials of the late 17th century took place — and will delve deeper into the mythology of witchcraft and introduce new characters, AMC 'The drama and complexities of the Mayfair family continue to be an intriguing and enchanting source of story, and expanding that story against the backdrop of Salem, a historical haven of witchcraft, is an exciting next chapter for this series and our larger Anne Rice Immortal Universe,' said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks. 'Tom Schnauz has a storied history with AMC, and we're elated to have him join the talented Esta Spalding and our Mayfair cast for a season that will explore a larger world of witchery and Mayfair family secrets as we continue to build out this dynamic franchise.' Season two ended with Rowan (Alexandra Daddario) attaining a new level of power, albeit at a sizable cost. Spalding told The Hollywood Reporter after the finale that she hoped to explore that more in a third season. 'When you have the power she has you can't just, as she says, sit on your hands and act like a good girl,' Spalding said. 'So I think there's something in a season three where we would be exploring Rowan's quest for that feeling again.' Spalding said in a statement about the renewal, 'I am thrilled to welcome Tom Schnauz to our team for the third season of Mayfair Witches. A contemporary twist on the Salem story, it promises to be our most delicious yet.' Added Schnauz, 'I'm incredibly excited to reunite with both AMC and [executive producer] Mark Johnson on Mayfair Witches. The work I've done so far with Esta Spalding on season three has been fantastic and fun, and we're hoping that translates to the screen for fans and new viewers of the show.' "Mayfair Witches" also stars Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa and Alyssa Jirrels. Spalding and Schnauz will executive produce season three with Johnson — who oversees all three shows in the Rice-verse for AMC — Michelle Ashford and Tom Williams. As for AMC's other Anne Rice series, "Interview With the Vampire" is slated to debut its third season in 2026. New entry "The Talamasca: The Secret Order", starring Nicholas Denton and Elizabeth McGovern, is set to premiere in the fall. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 ..
