Man dies in Lytham crash after being hit by car
A man in his 80s has died after he was knocked down by a Police said the pensioner was involved in a collision with a Bentley Continental in Station Road, Lytham, on Friday morning, and died later after suffering serious leg and chest injuries."Despite best efforts of emergency services, we can now confirm that he has tragically passed away following the incident," the force investigation into the crash, which happened at about 07:20 BST, is in its "early stages" and anyone with information or dash cam footage should contact police. The 52-year-old chef boasts an impressive collection of iconic and classic cars. Among them is a Subaru Impreza raced by legendary rally driver Colin McRae and a Mini Cooper raced by Paddy Hopkirk and Rauno Aaltonen. James has however revealed his Toyota Hilux pickup truck is his favourite to drive. This he says is because he can 'chuck everything' in the 435-litre boot. He said: 'Whether you collect anything, you see something as the Holy Grail, it's that sort of stuff, but the car to me is like an aesthetic moving little bit of art. They're just beautiful things. 'It's weird, I'm not married, I've got no kids, my kids have got four wheels, that's it, you're either into them or you're not. I'm not weirdly into them, so I don't get a deckchair and sit in the middle of a field and talk about pistons and stuff like that, but there's something about them. Police escorted thousands of Lyon fans along Deansgate in Manchester city centre on Thursday (April 17) ahead of tonight's clash against Manchester United. United are to host the French professional football club in their second leg of their Europa League quarter-final, with kick off at 8pm. Ahead of the match, a huge police response attended the city centre as crowds of Lyon fans stormed Deansgate and let off blue flares while chanting and cheering. Pictures then revealed how a white Bentley Continental, worth around £250k, that had been parked on Deansgate, was also covered in the stickers by fans. Large groups were then seen walking up the stairs to the Deansgate / Castlefield Metrolink stop, supported by a large police response and travel officers. Lyon will be backed by 2,650 fans in the away end. Virginia man pleads guilty to possession of stolen money
BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS) — A Virginia man pleaded guilty in court to possession of stolen money. According to a press release, 35-year-old Joshua Sneed, of Bluefield, Virginia, pleaded guilty to possession of stolen money on Monday, March 3, 2025. Investigation underway after student found with gun at Richlands High School The press released stated that according to court documents, on March 15, 2024, Sneed was a title clerk for a car sales and service business in the Bluefield area of Mercer County, when a customer bought a 2008 Bentley Continental for $37,761, which was then put into the business's safe. On March 27, 2024, Sneed used his access to the computer system to change the transaction to a credit card purchase from a cash purchase, and later admitted to the change to hide the fact that he did not deposit the $37,761 into the business's bank account, the release noted. Sneed also confessed to the fact that he took the funds from the business to his home in the Bluefield area of Tazewell County, Virginia. On March 27, 2024, Sneed prepared a bank deposit slip for $60,100 for the business, and later prepared a second slip for $60,222.10 on April 9, 2024. Sneed confessed that he prepared the slips to hide his theft from the business for several months, the release stated. Sneed attempted to change the record for the Bentley Continental purchase back to a cash transaction from a credit card purchase in the computer system, but discovered that the system did not allow him to change transaction histories for March 2024. His employment with the business was terminated on April 15, 2024. Illinois woman pleads guilty to marriage fraud and perjury in West Virginia Sneed is set to be sentenced on July 7, 2025 and he faces up to ten years in prison, three years of probation, as well as a $250,000 fine, and owes a minimum of $120,322.10 in restitution. The announcement came from the office of Acting United States Attorney Lisa G.
